A fraudulent government!!! A government of liars, bandits, brigands, rogues and drunkards! What do you expect from such people?

They have no shame.

BTW I hope Labaran Maku and his 'fura de nunu' comrades will use this train on their next "Good Governance Tour".

Yes, enough of thieving N5 million on transportation for the tour alone! Buy train tickets for each 'fura de nunu' comrade going with you, highest you spend N3000 on all of them.

ANIMALS!!!

Neither you nor I are consequential. We are both pseudo names on NL!

good to know that u are gaining ur senses back

But I do not present myself as a self appointed judge or unknown spokeperson for the masses like you.

And how do i present myself in such ways? by stating my opinion which i am entitled to? are u nuts?

The only thing that is consequential are the facts on the ground and that fact is that they have announced that trains will soon be running Lagos to Kano. Whether the schedule is delayed or not is another argument!

its also a fact that this isnt the first or second time such announcements have been made. the wise will only be patient enough to let it kick off and probably run for weeks before appropriating kudos to the retardeen. of cos u are daft, u simply cant decipher that.

I am nothing in the nothingness of cyberspace!

I think Lagos to Enugu or the East makes a better business case to build a train service
Bro Kano & Lagos both have similar business /commercial features. Kano's probably the next biggest commercial city behind Lagos (& it's probably even ahead of Aba & Onitsha). Kano is the "city of commerce" according to their slogan. With this said, I think it's a really great development. Nonetheless, with successive focused governments, all other strategic cities & towns should be linked up too.

Bro, I see sense in what you're saying especially with the instability that has plagued Northern Nigeria in recent times. To people who don't really know Kano, it may seem to them like Kano is being bombed everyday but that might not be the view/opinion of Nigerians who live on ground in Kano. For instance, I graduated from the university of Jos & from time to time, I still visit Jos to hang out with some of my friends. Yes, due to the sectarian violence that has plagued Plateau state for some years now, Jos is not as peaceful as it used to be, but it's also not as bad as the media or visitors make it seem. A lot of Nigerians who don't know about Jos just conclude that Boko Haram has Plateau state, this is very false. What's been happening in Plateau state is sectarian violence (ethnic /religious misunderstandings/intolerance). I can bet you that Boko Haram don't have any records in Plateau state.
You'd still find Nigerians from all states in Plateau state just like in any other Nigerian city because it has become their home. By my rough statistics, besides indigenous ethnic groups in the state, the Yoruba tribe might have the biggest community in the state sef. I'm not even from Plateau by the way. Long story short, all I'm saying's that even with the issues of insecurity which has plagued Kano, to someone outside the city it may seem like that place is hell fire but to Nigerians who live inside Kano, life goes on almost as normal (except for the new terrorist kids on the block).... If life goes on as normal for people who live in & patronize the city, then there's every possibility that business thrives as usual or almost as usual.

azpeculiar: If in 2012 those lines are still not modern hi-speed rail lines, then I'm not listening. The Abokis had better use them to ferry their cattle to and from the North. Shame!

One step at a time. Even the Brits and Americans, along with Indians and Brazilians still use Diesel-engine trains for cross-country travel. One thing's for sure, the revamped rail network will ease the stress on our roads and play a major role in hauling more goods from north-2-south and vice versa.

There is obviously no proper Risk Assessment on this project. Why would you want to offer a bait that cost so much in the name of the government is achieving. The Risks clearly outweighs the benefits

he non-Muslim population resident in the Muslim dominated northern Nigerian State of Kano continues to suffer death in the hands on the native Kano indigene.
Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that two teenage students, aged 16 and 17 years were shot dead by unknown Muslim gunmen on Thursday December 6, 2012 at the Yankaba area of Kano metropolitan city near Hadeja road.
Eyewitness reports indicate that the shooting incident occurred some minutes after 7pm near Yankaba area popularly referred as Anambra – line when unknown gunmen riding on a motorbike instantly shot the two teenagers to death at close range – while wailing “Allah is Great” in Arabic. The gunmen escaped immediately.
The names of the two teenagers killed were Daniel Nwachukwu, aged 17 [from Owerri] and Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Agazie [from Umuchu], aged 16. Both were childhood friends who grew up in Yankaba. Daniel recently secured university admission in Imo state.
247ureports.com spoke to the fathers of the murdered boys, Solomon Agazie and Nwachukwu. They expressed shock and disbelief over the killing of their innocent sons in cold blood. Mr Nwachukwu who was heavily saddened, cried repeatedly “Who killed my son? What offence has he committed to be shot instantly to death without justice?”
The father told our correspondent that on Thursday, Daniel visited his friend, Chukwuebuka and while Chukwuebuka was seeing off Daniel just 200 metres away from his home, when Chukwuebuka sister, who was in the bathroom had two gun shots, rushed out to the scene, only to discover that her brother and friend had been shot to death.
In panic, she alerted her parents. Both fathers rushed out to see the dead body of their two boys lying in a pool of blood – bullet riddled body.
Within about 10minutes after the shooting, the agents of the Joint Task Force [JTF] stationed in Kano arrived and carried the bodies of the teenagers to the Bompai Police station where the incident was recorded and thereafter the bodies were taken to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
The Police Command confirmed the incident to 247ureports.com indicating that investigation has commenced to unravel those behind the crime.
Meanwhile, the latest killing of two Igbo teenagers brings the number of Igbo people killed by Muslim gunmen to 18. The Ohaneze Ndigbo head in Kano, Chief Tobia Idika who spoke with 247ureports.com lamented bitterly over the rampant killing of non-Muslims and non-natives in Kano. He called on the government of Kano State to do something to provide security for their non-Muslim population – or else – they will be forced to defend themselves.
In his words, “the government of Kano State has shown that it does not care for the non-Muslims in Kano.
Every week boys on motorbikes come into our areas and kill us – and the governor just ignores the death as if we are chickens dying. Till date, the government of Kano has not done anything to console the mourning families. I am disappointed and tired.”
Speaking with the Commissioner for Information for Kano State Government, Prof Farouk concerning the adequacy of security for non-Muslims in the State, he stated “Government provides security for all residents of the State regardless of their tribe or religion. It is a fact that terrorists killed more Muslims than any other sect in the State. So why trivialize issues“

See the kind of selfishness I was talking about? So it's only Igbo people that terrorism has been killing in Nigeria or in Kano precisely? Do they make bombs that know how to specifically kill Igbo people amongst a crowd of people? The other people that also die alongside the Igbo people when bombs go off don't need sympathy abi because they're not Igbo people or people from your ethnic group? Are those other people goats? People like you bring down the pride of humanity & disgrace Nigeria. Tell me now, what's the difference between you & boko Haram since it's now a known fact that anybody outside your denomination is an "enemy" & you obviously don't care about them?

^^^Naturally, his thoughts are with his brothers and sisters up north.....two of whom have just been confirmed slaughtered by the evil/sub-human bokites; you should tried to empathise and understand his emotions and then move on to the next post to avoid a confrontation.

The bastards may or may not be targeting only Igbos, but -besides those caught up in mass suicide bombings- it appears to me that the surgical/targeted attacks by lone/groups of gunmen on bikes has a higher number of Igbo victims than say Yoruba, Ijaw, Efik, etc; so i fully understand born2shags' angst.
