No one knows when that day or time will be. The Son and the angels in heaven don't know when it will be. Only the Father knows.
When the Son of Man comes, it will be the same as what happened during Noah's time. In those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving their children to be married right up to the day Noah entered the boat. They knew nothing about what was happening until the flood came and destroyed them all.
It will be the same when the Son of Man comes. Two men will be working in the field. One will be taken and the other will be left. Two women will be grinding grain with a mill. One will be taken and the other will be left.
So always be ready. You don't know the day your Lord will come. Obviously, a homeowner who knew what time a thief was planning to come would be ready and not let the thief break in. So you also must be ready. The Son of Man will come at a time when you don't expect him.

Who is the wise and trusted servant? The master trusts one servant to give the other servants their food at the right time. Who is the one the master trusts to do that work? When the master comes and finds the servant doing the work he gave him, what a great day it will be for that servant. I can tell you without a doubt, the master will choose that servant to take care of everything he owns.
But what will happen if that servant is evil and thinks his master will not come back soon? He will begin to beat the other servants. He will eat and drink with others who are drunk. Then the master will come when the servant is not ready, at a time when the servant is not expecting him. Then the master will punish that servant. He will send him away to be with the hypocrites, where people will cry and grind their teeth with pain. Matthew 24:36-51

When will it be? At a time when people least expect it. Only such as are looking for it will see it. Surrounding events will lull the unsuspecting into complacence. It will not necessarily be a time of roaring irreverence, but it will be one full of activity and a going to and fro. People will be caught in "responsibilities" and the momentum of life. But there will be those whose activity is filled with anticipation of our coming Lord.


I tell you this, brothers and sisters: Our bodies of flesh and blood cannot have a part in God's kingdom. Something that will ruin cannot have a part in something that never ruins. But listen, I tell you this secret: We will not all die, but we will all be changed. This will happen when the last trumpet blows. The trumpet will blow and those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we will all be changed. This body that ruins must clothe itself with something that will never ruin. And this body that dies must clothe itself with something that will never die. So this body that ruins will clothe itself with that which never ruins. And this body that dies will clothe itself with that which never dies. When this happens, the Scriptures will be made true:

"Death is swallowed up in victory."

"O death, where is your victory?
Where is your power to hurt?"

Death's power to hurt is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But we thank God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
So, my dear brothers and sisters, stand strong. Don't let anything change you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord. You know that your work in the Lord is never wasted. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58

It'll be sudden. It'll be quick. It'll involve all believers.

Our bodies will change. The spiritual body of which Paul spoke in the same chapter from which the above was taken will clothe us and in every respect we will be like our Lord Jesus.

That is why we always pray for you. We ask our God to help you live the good way he wanted when he chose you. The goodness you have makes you want to do good. And the faith you have makes you work. We pray that with his power God will help you do these things more and Oumore. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of you, and you will be honored because of him. This can only happen because of the grace if our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Brothers and sisters, we have something to say about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We want to talk to you about that time when we will meet together with him. The above text taken together with Daniel 11:28-12:3 and various parts of Revelation including the whole of chapter seven, fourteen and fifteen appears to me to hold that in the sequence of events of chronological time, tje rapture will occur once and after the Great Tribulation. However, there is a separation among believers that appears to be suggested in phrases like "the wise..." of Daniel 11, "the wise and trusted servant..." of Matthew 24, (also the wise and foolish virgins of Matt 25), and the hundred and forty-four thousand and man-child of Rev 7, 12, 14 and 15. This separation is quite marked and obvious except in Paul's writings.

The separation is not of two camps but of two things of a kind where one is the full form of the other. Now, it is not obvious to me that there will be two raptures, but the one that will occur will somehow separate the two of a kind. Paul said: first the dead in Christ, then those who are alive and remain. Now, I wonder if there's more to being dead in Christ or alive and remaining than I previously thought.

What if, I wonder, "dead in Christ" is another way of saying "utterly won for Christ"? Or, was Paul being completely literal and we are to take him as such? Perhaps, perhaps not. But one thing seems clear: some Christians will not be caught unawares and unprepared by our Lord's coming, but some will be. Neither will be more or less Christian for being found in this state or that, but both will suffer or enjoy certain consequences for being found or not in a state of readiness and anticipation of our Lord.

It really pains me that christians cant see the frustration in my face whn I look to other countries like Japan which is quite godless and yet they have a more moral and better society compared to religious country like Nigeria.

I listened to a message about a year ago and went back to study some things in the word. its really risky to say the rapture cannot be today. If you can confidently say its not today, it just means you don't really believe Jesus when he said he can come at any time. I know we often want to read the signs as we were told to but one cannot say he knows what happens in all parts of the world. Definitely some truths undeniably unfolding as we speak. I'm not trying to argue, just want all Children of God to have the right perspective concerning this oh so pertinent fact. Also, food for thought. What mundane/sinless/human thing would you not be doing if you knew Jesus was coming next week? (might make for an interesting thread)
