Brokers love those that jump in and out at more regular intervals. You go just dey sacrifice 2% of your capital at each "in-out" jump.
Thats what many of us in MorganCapital don't know. They made it easy to "sell and buy" at the click of a button. What we forget is that each click comes at a cost.
Dr. Agba knows this, thats why he "clicks" only once a yr.

How can i setup an online brokerage firm in nigeria.

Good Morning BNSITL,

Does anyone know how one can buy into eurobonds or any FCY denominated bonds?
what platforms or brokers offer it?
I heard the diamond bank euro bond went as high at 28% translating to a yield of about 400$ monthly per 10000$ invested?

i would like to understand the trends in this market .

thank you.

sillysassysally:
I don't do stock picks but for the rest of 2018 and the pre-election period, I'd say FO because in light of the recent news of Femi Otedola selling his shares, I think there's going to be a cross deal at a price above N40.

This is just 75% of Downstream or is it 75% of the entire group?

He owns 75% of the outstanding shares . And he’s selling everything .
Abi which one is downstream again?

Yes, I believe its a shakeout !!
With FO, TECHNICALS is still very much intact !!
Current price(day low) of N32 is still well above all key moving averages... including the pivotal 200 sma(@ N29.48).
The interpretation of this is that the expected PE investor(long term in view) who would supposedly buy up the 75% equity stake is 'still very much around and kicking' !!

This is clearly profit taking at work. I expect price to continue the uptrend in due course. When? ...I do not know. ...the market dynamics shall determine that.

CAVEAT: Just a feedback. ...not a recommendation !!

Cheers.

75% equity stake in the downstream operations and...

the disclosure clearly states 75% of the shareholdings in the company's downstream business

the company is made up of

1) downstream
2) power
3) upstream

Oh , I see .
Since it “clearly” stated it ,then what are you still confused about? Lol
No offence o .
Here’s a copy of what I got from one of my stockbrokers yesterday concerning FO.

Dear Esteemed Client,

Forte Oil Plc, a major downstream oil and gas player has taken major decisions in 2018 that will change the structure, operations and management of the company in 2019.

In May 2018, the company announced plans to divest from its power generating (Amperion Power Distribution Company), upstream servicing (Forte Upstream Services Limited, FUS) businesses, along with its downstream operations in Ghana (AP Oil & Gas Ghana), to focus its core operations around the marketing and distribution of petroleum products and lubricants. This was approved by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting held during the year.

On the 24th of December 2018, the management also notified the public of the decision by the majority shareholder, Mr Femi Otedola, to divest his entire holdings, of 75%, in order to focus on opportunities in refinery and petrochemicals. This includes his 186.26mn units of direct shares and 838.47mn shares in indirect holdings. The holdings are to be sold to the Prudent Energy Team, through Ignite Investments and Commodities Limited.

Our Opinion

Due to the liquidity issues in the power sector, the company’s decision to focus on the downstream segment can be a good strategy to fully harness the opportunities within the downstream value chain. The company’s effort in expanding its retail footprint alongside the introduction of new higher margin products, like Havoline and Solar, should support the company’s bottom-line going forward. Asides the positive long term performance of the company, the corporate governance of FO might also be strengthened further given the institutional ownership of majority of the shares, in the aftermath of the divestment.

However, the major downside is the sentiment surrounding the proposed exit of the majority shareholder, as this decision raises varying questions as to the long term outlook of the company. We believe the company could have expanded its portfolio by raising capital to go into refining and petroleum chemicals, hence, the question therefore remains why this option was not explored. Also, the dearth of information on the Prudent Energy Team and Ignite Investments and Commodities Limited raises concern over the proposed transaction, as we are not able to further access the strength of the stated firms.

On the back of this, we advise a SELL for investors with short-term investment horizon as the current rally on the stock is temporary because it is neither supported by the current state of operations of the company nor the outlook based on the recently announced 75% divestment. For investors seeking long term value, we do not foresee the price staying above NGN40.00, hence, we also advise a SELL for investors that currently have the stock. A re-entry at a lower price, possibly between NGN21.00 - NGN25.00, with an exit range between NGN35.00 – NGN41.00 should however yield more benefit over the long-term.

Regards,

what is your chart saying about intbrew? I need a review so bad

the beers wars for market space has driven the quality of beer across board .

Int brew
Weekly chart

- get own vol challenges (ex: just 3,400 traded on d last day)
- however rate of decline practically slowed down , price is trading within a range (accumulative tendency)
- price spent d last 22 weeks btw N35.20 weekly closing high and N29.45 weekly closing low
- 18 weeks btw N33.55 weekly closing high and N29.45 weekly closing low
- still bearish but not like before , clearly its found some short term support ard n29-30 levels
- a close below d lower level is a red flag or stop loss
- while a price close above d upper level signifies positive upside possibilities (PUP)
- some may choose to buy ard lower range or wait for a breakout
