One of the strategy during this season is to always monitor corporate disclosure especially in the month of February/March to know the company that performed above expectations and jump in for capital appreciation. Some unexpected companies that outperformed usually have lower price before the release of their result as a result of investors and traders lack of interest toward them.

But once they release their wonderful result which will always seen through their eps, if possible with good dividend as when compare with other companies, as Cham PLC did last year. In such stock one can easily ride on 50% gain within a short period.

But know when to bail out, to book your profit, if the stock does not fall within the standard of your dividend holding stock as an investor.

If you aint sure of what to buy, then buy WAPCO and ride for the next 2 weeks or more.....Fidelity & FBNH aint bad too. Just so you know, some are slow but reliable while others are fast and furious!.

Please gurus, as a newbie I was planning on buying any of the top dividend paying stocks preferably UBA and Zenith. After collecting the dividend would I be able to offload as fast before rates start dropping again?

For example UBA is currently more than 50% above its lowest point for the last 52 weeks.

If I come collect 9% yield or something and loose 50% after he no go make sense o.

I dey try learn d work o.

Uba and zenith are very liquid stocks.
You can sell any time you want to sell.

However, no one can say what the exact price will be after markdown but you can be sure it will not be at a loss of 50% grin

You cant receive dividend if you sell before qualification date. It means you didnt qualify nau. grin
You will only receive for the 100units you left unsold.

What if they are sold after qualification date but before payment date.
Thanks

I think you would be fine long-term. I am watching a strong support at N9 but some other index show a strong upward signal. I am watching closely.

trw-stockbrokers.com quoted the support at 7ish. See attachments

I am a newbie o, just read small. I didn't even add the broker's fees about 2.5% for a close cycle of buy and sell.

U go come lose 10% of the dividend in the name of tax.
Selling before markdown makes a lotta sense. However, we have seen a lot of times when the stock gains str8 away the next day after markdown.

U're welcome.
Let me add this too: If you are considering buying some other dividend paying stocks in future, you may just buy like 10 units of them so you can use it to process their dividend forms ahead of time.
