I think you got the bolded news all wrong. What FCMB put out is not the full year earnings projections/expectations, but just the projection/expectation for q4 alone.
Their H1 earnings already surpassed the figures contained there.
Eg H1 gross earnings is already 98billion, and they only projected 45billion for q4 alone not full year. Gross earning cannot fall like that naa. Pls cross check and redo ur news before people see.

OK, thanks.
We learn everyday, hope one day NSE will extend their branch to foreign investment, where one can use registered stockbroking firm in Nigeria to trade directly, since we are living in the world global village, the world without boundary.

Sometimes American with their visa problem might be a temporary set back in case of eventuality. It's more advantageous for those residing in America.
Thanks once again, for your response.

I think it'd up to our brokers to offer such additional services.
If SEC can license FinApps, it shouldn't be a big deal with established brokers.

There is a season for everything. Those in the different US equity markets should be watching closely for change in direction of price movement. FAANG shares may still push up the indexes they are traded on some more. For other individual stocks, small caps etc. its been 10 good years.....

ZOOM and others in the "call app" industry still have some months to go but with the number of similar app products approaching launch pad, it wont last too long.

My problem with distance online trading is that when the case that will involve physical presence of a customer to pursue his/her case, the country concern like America might deny him/her visa to visit. And those who might not have enough money to pursue their case might ended up being frustrated.
Please help me with answer to these questions.
1. What of in case of eventuality where the stockbroker folded, how can one in Nigeria transfer his/her share to another stockbroker in America?
2. In place like Nigeria that registrar will demand your bank confirmation of signature for your uploaded e-dividend to be approve, how will one in Nigeria investing in American get his/her e-dividend activate in registrar that reside in America, without him/her being physical present and without American residential address?
3. The stockbrokers platform uses to trade foreign stock from Nigeria, are the under which country government regulations like (SEC)?

Am asking to know, because we learn everyday, thanks in anticipation.

Use tested and trusted companies. Consumer protection laws in their domicile of operations should address all your concerns. Just be sure all the information you provide when opening accounts are genuine and verifiable. If they ask for information or requirement you don't have, dont use a proxy. just move on to another company. As usual when they are doing due diligence on you, you too be doing due diligence on them.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says it will resume weekly forex sales to Bureau de Change operators from August 31.

In a circular signed by O.S. Nnaji, director of trade and exchange department, the apex bank said BDCs must not exchange the naira at more than N386/$.

The apex bank said its decision to resume FX sales to BDCs is to enhance accessibility to forex “particularly to travellers” since the resumption dates for international flights into the country has been announced.

Providing a breakdown of the rates, the CBN said: “Please be advised that the applicable exchange rate for the disbursements of proceeds of IMTOs for the period Monday, August 31 to Friday, September 04, 2020, is as follows:

IMTSOs to banks: N382/$1
Banks to CBN: N383/$1
CBN to BDCs: N384/$1
BDCs to end-users: Not more than N386
Volume of sale to each market is $10,000 per BDC.
The apex bank said FX sales to BDCs will hold on Mondays and Wednesdays in the first instance.

“The BDCs are to ensure that their accounts with the banks are duly funded with the equivalent naira proceeds on Fridays and Tuesdays,” the circular read.

“Banks shall continue to sell foreign currencies for travel-related invisible transactions to customers and non-customers over the counter upon presentation of relevant travel documents (passport, air ticket and visa).”

https://www.thecable.ng/breaking-naira-to-trade-at-386-as-cbn-resumes-fx-sale-to-bdcs

My take is that this will not provide the much needed liquidity in the market. For it to make an impact, the CBN will need to flood that market with dollars at the rate they are offering. If they have elected to sell only on two days of the work week, it may indicate they have limited supplies for the BDC. They are still owing banks from early July for bids won.

I understand the World Bank is yet to approve the $1.5 billion the country applied for cos of reasons we all know. Depreciation is inevitable and everybody knows this by now. Its a supply and demand relationship.

I am yet to see any country with the following features that has a healthy productive economy : FOREX rate control, commodity based earnings, limited export potential. Let me not even bring in corruption, rent based activities etc to the equation yet. Anybody that has seen such a country should please school me.

GUNNIESS declared no dividend and a loss of $31million USD which will take them multiple years to recover and still yet some don't believe that Nigeria Stock Market is now a burial ground.

Kindly explain why NSE is a burial ground? NSE is not involved in day to day activities of this companies but people transact trade based on performance data or information coming from this companies. If a company is doing well despite the challenges in the market, it receives kudos in share price appreciation. If it is not doing well, market responded with drop in its share prices. So let go NSE in the predicament of these companies.

...In as much as I understand your frustrations, I don't think your assertions about NSE is completely correct! If you cannot make money on NSE, I can assure you, you will loose x3 investing in US Market. Good thing about US Market is that it's well regulated & anyone found manipulating the market is severely dealt with no matter how highly placed. Americans set the system right, that's why someone like you can take your money there to invest.

It is therefore a clarion call on those managing NSE and Nigerian Economy at large to "sit-right", sit tight and make Nigerian market investors' friendly. Imagine foreign investors are still running away from cheap stocks in Nigeria!

Instead of the burial ground that you see, I see BIG TIME opportunities to make GOOD FORTUNES on NSE. I am not discouraging anyone from participating in US Market, of course, I am a big time trader on NYSE, NASDAQ, RUSSELL2000, S&P500, DOW, just name it; what I am driving at is that if all you see on NSE is burial ground, I can assure you in the next 2 - 5 years, you will see US Market zone as cremation ground as your cash will evaporate except due diligent is well done!

Thank you.

We all know in NSE the regulators (SEC. NSE.and coy MGTS are only after their pockets while the minority shareholders funds keep depleting. thats why coys like uacn. oando..guiness are were allowed to raise money few yrs ago and still have nothing to show for it.

In a sane country about 90% of coys listed in NSE ought to be delisted by now.

Folks like you that are not US resident can trade NYSE (live) via Trading 212 platform with zero commission unlike Trove.Chaka and Bamboo that don't offer live trade and still charge 1% trade commission.

Above all by the time you discount the countless naira devaluation you will discover that NSE investors are still living in stone age.

No sir. you aren't. your ability to understand and adapt to any environment you find yourself is the most important criteria for success.

A smart and educated investor who understands the instability of the NSE will NEVER buy Zee or GT at the above prices. Only jijoists, newbies and those who don't do their DD will get their fingers burnt.

Understand your environment, your market and always do your DD.

Guinness no fit pay dividend but they could be a headline sponsor of a non-value adding Big Brother Show. These are common sense models that predicts when a company or its managers are on the wrong path.

And for the US stock market enthusiasts who think the NSE is a burial ground because Peter led you astray to jijo with Guinness , you will soon discover that when it rains on the NYSE ,it will definitely pour because some of those appreciation witnessed recently were not backed by any fundamental. They were liquidity driven.

We will compare notes by late November when the US election is over.

On the NSE For every Guinness submitting poor results there are many UCAP, WAPCO,FIDSON doing well.
