Most of us find women cry more than men do. Even for a simple thing such as watching movies or reading novels, women can cry till their eyes get swollen. What about men...? Men scarcely have tears on their cheeks even though they are facing some terrible and unbearable problems plus a sorrowful sadness. What exactly is behind all this....? What are the reason women have tears more often than men do? Your opinion pls. |

A study was done on this several years ago in England. They found that mothers took much longer to respond to the crying of male children than females ones, and also that male children are told to 'stop crying' etc more frequently. This makes them learn from an early age that crying is not a viable way for males to get sympathy or support. So they stop doing it 1 Like |

Part of it is conditioning like others have stated. Another part is hormonal. Small boys do cry, probably as much as little girls, but after the rise of testosterone in pubescent boys, crying reduces. Females were blessed with estrogen, which can make a woman cry more, especially with levels of the hormone changing drastically every month. There's also the hormone prolactin, which adds to how much a person can cry. Women tend to have more in comparison to men. 1 Like |
