Highway to Heaven...this is easily the scariest film ever made in Nigeria. Its only limitation is that it was made in Igbo.

Add power of love, baracuda. Silent night, and one horror film where the school bus stop near a beach and spirit started hunting the people in the bus, i cant remember the name.

My all time favourite is Igodo (1999), starring
Chidi Mokeme, Nobert Young, Sam Dede, Bob Manuel Udoku and the rest. I wept like a baby when Izu didn't make it to the oracle (or wherever the heck the men were heading to.)

There is another movie that featured KOK. He was a cultist and his daughter found out. Can't remember the name. Love the movie

IGODO is the best epic movie that has ever come out of Nollywood.

Abiku cheesy. . . . .

O...my...gosh!!! How could I have forgotten this film?? This film was in the early 90's. That very pretty half-caste girl played the role of the Abiku. The Abiku fell in love with her mother and refused to go back, which brought about severe oppression from her mates. Bimbo Manuel was the father who got killed by the vehicle. The abiku knew her dad was going to die, so she said in her American accent, "please dad, don't go to work today".

I remember the song the little emeres were singing.

"Abiku,abiku
Ogbanje ogbanje!"

Thanks jmaine, this took me down memory lane smiley

It was actually done in the late '80s. It was NTA Channel 10s entry to NIFETEP (Nigerian Television Festival organised by the NTA). It won an award (I think that was the first time that channel ten won an award at NIFETEP).

It seems the best tele-movies of that era were horror movies. There was Jimi Odumosu's NATAS (for LTV cool that scared the living daylights out of me and there was LYNX, an NTA tele-movie that starred Gladys Dadzie as a woman who was killed by her husband (Mat Dadzie). Her ghost appeared to people in the form of a lynx cat.

Mat and Gladys Dadzie were my favourite tv couple at that time, until they divorced in real life.

Re: 20 Nollywood Movies We Will Never Forget by naptu2: 3:58am On Jan 17, 2013
Lynx was done in 1989.

I still can't get a pic of either Matt or Gladys Dadzie (Fortune's mom in Behind the Clouds).

I didn't even realise that Matt acted in Mr Johnson (the hollywood movie, starring Pierce Brosnan, that was set in Nigeria).

From IMDB

Matt Dadzie was born in Lagos Nigeria to George and Victoria Dadzie. He spent his early years in Lagos where did his primary and secondary education. He later got admission to University of Ibadan to study Theater arts. He worked with NTA Jos, is famous for writing and directing TV series in the early 80s and 90s in Nigeria: Cock Crow at Dawn (1985), Behind the Clouds(1989), Lynx (1989), Riddles and Hopes (1991), Supple blues 1990. He lived with his wife and children in Jos Nigeria until his death in 2005.
