Arsenate: is an individual award; the individual that performed the best over the last year. Players like Cassilas, Alonso etc could make a claim for the award if it was based on number of trophies won as these players have won more trophies than CR7 and iniesta. However, it's an Individual award and Messi deserves it. if it should be based on individual perfomance...why did fabio cannavaro won it in 2006 ahead of Zinedine Zidane and Gaucho Ronaldinho?
