it's called "esunsun" in yoruba language. They love to swarm around flourescent light so to kill them people normally put a bucket of water under the flourescent light cause once they fall into water, that's it, they are dead. They are really tasty when fried with salt and they accompany garri very well. I remember eating them back in those days grin grin grin grin

Loved it as a kid, we even ate some raw, but whenever I ate it as a young adult, I'd puke immediately. So I stopped eating. Same with snails.

Very delicious. As a child I hunted this stuff right into the bush until I missed my way coming back. I was found by some good villagers and returned to my parents.

Very proteinous insect. Mehn it was fun chasing them around then as a child. Damn! I've forgotten the "Esan" name.

For those shouting poverty, lemme remind you that "poverty is a state of the mind". You can eat fried rice and chicken and still feel poor or soak korect Ijebu sour g4 with cold water (see as I dey salivate) like OBJ and feel rich.

Men, this insect is tasty. Put it without water in a pot and watch it fry in its own body fat.
Re: Have You Ever Eaten Termite? by aieromon(m): 7:21pm On Jan 15, 2013
Yep,I fried this delicacy in secondary school.
1.During the rainy season, you catch them and put in a bowl of water.
2. Next, you remove the head of the lantern, light it up and increase it to the maximum.
3. Place a little amount of butter on a stainless steel plate and put on the head of the lantern.
4. Drain water from the bowl and pour into the melted butter. Fry for a few minutes and remove.
5. Serve with garri soaked with milk and sugar.

Thank you boarding school!!
