I was discussing wt a lady and ds actually cropped up.

My stand was dat ladies shld nt call their inlaws wt thr direct names but rather shld add d 'brother' or 'sister' title to d name.


In my own view, ds is jst to show respect nd nothin more.

Bt d lady was like she can't do dat. She prefers callin her bro nd sister inlaws by thr direct names wtout addin any respect title.

Ah ah, don't they have names? Na their names na. If i can call my elder sister and elder brothers by their names, y cnt i kol their wives and husband by their names. Calling them their names does'nt mean i dnt respect them but i find it odd. Only d respect wey i dey dash dem alone sef, dey make dem 4get wetin sister, anty n brother/uncle be. So no need.

Goin by d luk of things in d modeern world, one may rather find it unnecesary.

Bt certain cultures nd tribes wuld demand dt u add a 'bro/sis' title to d names of ur inlaws.


Stil u av to observe d dos nd donts @least for d sake of ur spouse so I don't thnk its bad.
