Reference: Disgraceful defamation of our deceased heroes. They fought fearless and fell that we could live. Now their seeds are fighting to save the life of those that fall out of fear. Shame. One matured comment! Discerning minds know it's just a fallout of fatal choices of who fills what position. Defence Ministry now for the feeble-minded. 1 Like |

thierylee: Do we really have to trust and/or use this host site,NAIRALAND?why is it that they tend to block out most of the post from good nigerian whenever they are commenting on delicate state issues from certain national news reports from their own website? Why the provision for comments when the webmaster wouldn't publish most of the minds of nigerian posting them?.what seems to be the problem? Is it that nairaland owners are hypocrits or that they are playing the same wing.Maybe they are afraid that they would incur the animosity of the government when they publish most of critical remarks from good nigerians(critics).Whatever the case maybe,i think nairaland does not deserve the trust of its subscribers(nigerians).I mean why do we waste our time to comment on a site about national issues when our voices will never be heard?Nigerians should please look into this matter because it seems that nairaland does not have the interest of nigerian at heart, but they are exclusively out to make money...that is if they'll publish this post at the first place.Noted. |

1121: This can happen to anybody, especially when u'r not familiar with such sound or not being preinformed of such action. Beside she is the minister of state 4 defence and not d defence minister. She is just meant to aid the main defence minister who has been sacked. GEJ now holds that potfolio of a defence minister while she aid/support him. I guess this is her first time of witnessing such occasion. This issue should not be overflogged as though is a strange matter. It would have been a big deal if it happened to chief of defence staff or if she was/is a force/military woman. A minister is just like an administrator of a ministry, who must not necesarily be well knowledgable abt the ministry's activity. Thats Y we have advisers and perm secWhichever way we look at it, from your submissions it's indicative of a big lacuna, one that is grave, unnecesary, and very much avoidable! 1 Like |

What do you expect in a country Where someone who Lawyer was made to be a Defence minister? Where someone who study Medicine was made Minister of Power and Steal, Where someone who study Agriculture was made Aviation minister. This is a total rubbish. Why on earth will Erelu Obada be made Minister of state for defence when she has never been in military. SMH for Nigeria |

Lmao @topic I think the minister should be renamed Minister of State Of Defeat. Joke aside, I think Ministers of Defence who have no paramilitary experience should be taken through some form of hardening at the relevant security agencies. They should be taught how to handle gun, resist interrogation, amongst other. It's disgraceful that a hawk cowers in fright at the sight of chicken! This woman (and others) should go for hardening, she might not be lucky next time. |

ujchief: Why do we have minister of state for many of the ministries? We'v got minister of education and minister of state for education, same for power, defence, health and many more. This is a waste of taxpayers money, as they run parallel responsibilities.you have a very sound argument but with the way Nigeria is, states who don't produce a minister will cry out about marginalisation. Even if you come down to individual states, its not so much a case of duplication but rather formation of irrelevant ministries like chieftaincy affairs all in a bid to "carry everybody along" |
