Interestingly, the first time I heard the name Aliko Dangote was in 1996 when he donated 500,000 to Olympic winning team. I still recall listening to that news: a businessman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has donated the sum of 500,000 to blabla.m..

He was 39 years old then.

Not to be a cynic but i know how many kids in orphanages and needy homes that money will feed or send to school..the footballers are already being paid for their jobs and no matter how sweet a nations cup victory is it won't solve a single problem in our nation, but little funds like this will go a long way.

A statement from Dangote Group explained that the gesture is part of Dangote Group’s corporate social responsibility ( CSR )

It would have been better if the reward was for wining the finals just to motivate them. Any how, they still deserve all the money anyone can pour on them. SE, we will all be watching come sunday. I go call-in sick from jab, make i stay home watch this one.
