CelebritiesBoko Haram: Red Cross Speaks On Negotiating For Release Of Chibok Girls by 11Ebiscoo(op): 11:46am On Jul 26, 2018
The International Committee of the Red Cross on Wednesday explained its role in the release of the abducted Chibok and Dapchi schoolgirls.

The organisation stated that it was not involved in negotiation for their freedom from Boko Haram.

A statement by the Communication Coordinator of ICRC Nigeria, Aleksandra Mosimann, lamented that “recent media articles have suggested that the International Committee of the Red Cross helps to negotiate the release of abducted persons, which is incorrect.”

Mosimann said, “As a neutral humanitarian organisation, the ICRC cannot play such a role, which would be contrary to our principle of neutrality and is outside our mandate.

“In Nigeria, the ICRC has acted as a neutral intermediary on three different occasions: after the release of Chibok girls on October 13, 2016 (21 Chibok girl and a baby); after the release of Chibok girls on May 7, 2017 (82 Chibok girls); and after the release on February 10, 2018 (10 women – relatives of the police officers – and three university professors from the University of Maiduguri).”

Mosimann added, “The ICRC was not involved in negotiations leading to the release of any of these persons. We did not visit them prior to their release either. We transported them, upon the request of the parties involved.”

CelebritiesHoly Scam!! Prophet Arrested After Making Family Dig Up Dead Man Only For Him To by 11Ebiscoo(op): 9:52pm On Jul 25, 2018
A self acclaimed prophet has been arrested in Ethiopia after he failed to bring a dead man back to life after asking the family to dig up the dead body.

Getayawkal Ayele had tried to revive the corpse of Belay Biftu by lying on top of him and repeatedly yelling “Belay, wake up” but it was not successful, and his failure enraged family members who began attacking Mr Getayawkal.

He was saved when police arrived shortly afterwards, although it did not mean he was out of trouble.

Abusing dead bodies is a crime under Ethiopian law and a local police commander has told the BBC that the man, whose real job is as a health worker, is now in custody.

Residents in the small western town of Galilee, in the Oromia region, said Mr Getayawkal first went to the bereaved family and told them the story of Lazarus – who according to the New Testament was brought back to life by Jesus.

They then appear to have agreed to dig up Mr Belay.

After the failed resurrection, several members of the family fainted on the spot while others became angry and started beating Mr Getayawkal – at which point police arrived and arrested him.

CelebritiesThis Is Why Condoms Were Shared At Mayorkun’s Ibadan Concert by 11Ebiscoo(op): 8:52am On Jul 25, 2018
https://www.kemifilani.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/mayorkun-660x400.jpg
Earlier this week, viral reports claimed that fans at The Ibadan Concert with Mayorkun were engaged in reckless sexual intercourse, however DMW artiste, Mayorkun, has said that the condoms were only distributed to the fans for a safe sex awareness programme.

According to a report by NET, while trying to encourage safe sex among youths, the organisers, with the support of relevant organisations, distributed packs of condoms freely for reproductive and family health awareness which, it says, is typical of events of this magnitude.

“These were seen littering the event ground afterwards,” it says.

On the turnout at the concert, said to be 13,000 guests, Mayorkun says, “I planned to see between 5,000 and 7,000 people yesterday, but I was shocked to see 13,000 people.

“I was ready to perform for two to three hours, which I also promised maximum security. So, as soon as I got news on how packed the mall was, I had to get more security. The entrance planned for me to use was busy, I had to beg the mall owners to open the back gate for cars to come in.”

PoliticsOffa Robbery: Nigerians Speak On IGP Idris’s Fresh Invitation To Saraki by 11Ebiscoo(op): 8:19am On Jul 24, 2018
https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/saraki-igp.jpg
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris on Monday asked the Senate President, Bukola Saraki to appear at the office of Intelligence Response Team (IRT) office in Abuja, over the robbery incident that took place in Offa, Kwara State, in April 2018.

The recent invitation sparked reactions from Nigerians. This as they are linking the invitation to Saraki’s plan to dump All Progressives Congress, APC.

Most are of the opinion that President Muhammadu Buhari, through IGP Idris, was employing those methods to frustrate the Senate President from leaving the party.

DAILY POST recalls that Saraki, still in discussion with the presidency, on Monday denied reports of being offered juicy offers by President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC, to remain in the ruling party.

He noted that his discussions with the presidency and the leadership of the APC was not about him and what he want but about the people.

Here are some comments gathered by DAILY POST:

@Victormichael7 “This is another plot to bring Saraki down, after their trial at the Tribunal failed, they have embarked on another one, it will also fail. Shame on you.”

@Oriaku_1 “The Gutter politics being played in this country. Imagine bullying a whole Senate president into submission using cheap blackmail tactics. The desperation for power in 2019 is real, now more than ever I fear for the fate of the nation in the coming elections.”

@Akaharaofficial “His meeting with President Buhari didn’t go well. He still wants to leave the ruling rock and roll party. So they want to shake him a bit.”

@Nosavoks “Hmm Buhari and shameless IGP , after the court gave Saraki victory and then he held meeting with PDP last week they decided to plot another new one hmmm Buhari 4 years was a waste-less fighting opponent and still he don’t win they time you should spend to fight corruption and bring change just wasting it for nothing

@Neyoiyo “I can’t tell @bukolasaraki is bent on leaving APC now they need something to nail and disqualify him from contesting in next election. Continue your drama. We dey enjoy and watch.”

@Omobalooski “Shame on PMB, world worst dictator. So as Saraki didn’t fall for his beggings and oil bloc promise, he has resulted to his hatchet man to do the dirty job on Saraki? Well, as they failed in CCT, they will fail here too. APC will be gone with the wind.”

@B.e.ko147 “IGP AND BUHARI ARE FO*LISH. Because Saraki has decided to do away with APC, the Police now deem it fit to reopen a case that they publicly asked him to write a letter to them After their initial summon, now you want to summon the man again, Talk about politics of bitterness. Impeach the Cattle Rearer of a president and see %80 of Nigerians Happy like we won the WORLD CUP.”

@Folacita “So because Saraki is looking positive for 2019, you want to paralyse his ambition. Buhari ! if you are sure of yourself, leave Saraki and let him run if this game won’t get messy for you. LOL! Baba 80 no wan take chances.”

@Jemimma_stephens “What is all this nonsense? People are being killed every other day all over the country by so-called bandits with different titles with no reprieve but they have 30,000 policemen to monitor elections and they have policemen to investigate the no 3 Citizen in Nigeria for supposed armed robbery. Misplaced priorities.”

@Missmoremoney “PC are really trying ooo they want to distract this man so that he won’t tackle them during the presidential election.”

@Samchi4 “Beg APC. Saraki has rejected you and he wants to go home. king pharaoh let him go before the plague hit you.”

@Nkayrave “All this one (invitation) is because he wants to defect, they only remember this case when he wants to leave them.”

Politics2019: Saraki Speaks On Being Offered Automatic Ticket, Oil Well by 11Ebiscoo(op): 1:01pm On Jul 23, 2018
https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/2018-06-02-PHOTO-00000011.jpg
The Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has reacted to reports making the rounds that he was made juicy offers by President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC, to remain in the ruling party.

Last week, the Senate President and other aggrieved members of the APC met the President and the party leadership at the Presidential Villa.

Following the meeting, there were speculations about juicy offers being made to him and his associates as part of the on-going discussions.

Saraki, in a statement on Sunday, by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, said the stories were not true.

He said, “I believe at this point, it is important for me to make some clarifications, end speculations and make my position clear.

“It is important for Nigerians to know that the discussions that I and many others of like minds are having with the Presidency and the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) is not about me and what I want.

“It involves the future of our country and her democracy. It is about making things better for our people.

“Though there are many speculations being peddled in the media, let it be known these discussions are not about me.

“Whatever has happened to me in the past has passed. Now that God in his infinite mercy has vindicated me, I have moved on, believing that we have all learnt our lessons.

“As I said in my statement following the Supreme Court Judgement on July 6, I cannot hold any grudge against any individual.

“I have forgiven all those who played any role in my persecution and likewise, I have asked for forgiveness from all those that I wronged in the past.

“Our focus should now be about Nigeria. The major issue on the table for discussion is how to strengthen our democracy, rebuild our economy, stop the spate of insecurity, improve the conditions of living of our people and generally chart a course for the development of this great country.

“We will be insulting Nigerians if, as the 2019 elections draw nearer, our deliberations is about personal benefits or how to pay compensation for wrongs done to an individual.

“As for my political future, we just need to continue to engage with others, listen to advice and exchange ideas because the decision is not that of mine alone.

“It is for all our supporters and associates to deliberate upon and take a decision based on the overall interest of our people. It is my prayers that Almighty God will guide us right in all our decisions and make a positive turn-around in our country”, he stated.

Politics2019: What Will Happen If Buhari Wins, Why President Is Bad Product For APC – Co by 11Ebiscoo(op): 10:46am On Jul 22, 2018
https://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/images-43.jpg
An activist, Col Tony Nyiam (rtd), has revealed what will happen to Nigeria if President Muhammadu Buhari wins the 2019 presidential election.

Nyiam, the acclaimed mastermind of the 1990 Gideon Orkar coup d’état against the military government of General Ibrahim Babangida, said this in an interview with the Sun.

He called on the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC to summon the courage to dump Buhari as its candidate to avert an impending doom.

According to him, killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen will continue and escalate further if Buhari returns in 2019.

He said, “The danger that lies ahead is that if Buhari gets a second term, Nigerians should know that the bad omen, the killings of innocent farmers, and natural disaster in which lives are lost in hundreds under president Buhari’s watch will continue.

“One of the first steps that is imperative is that APC as a party must have the courage to dump Buhari as their candidate. He is a bad product to sell. It is evident in how people are leaving the party. If we go by his own evidence, after so many things instigated by him against Saraki, he has now admitted that Saraki is a man of due
process.

“To that extent and by extension, he has placed him as a man who believes in rule of law. Unlike himself, Saraki is the candidate they should go for, or Tambuwal, or a Middle Belt person. APC has a choice to change itself.

“Alongside these changes, they should embrace a new level of politicking and performance. With these changes, APC will not give us the bad omen
which they have been giving to us. It is imperative that all our critical stakeholders in nation building have started to forge a patriotic front and working in concert and unity to achieve the desired ends.

“People like Ayo Adebanjo, John Nwodo, the Sultan of Sokoto who have been working tirelessly behind the scene, the Oni of Ife, Oba of Benin, Obi of Onitsha, Obong of Calabar, Gbon Gwom of Jos, Gen. T Y Danjuma, and former heads of state are well positioned to take this initiative to arrest the drift into national disaster.

“Incidentally, people like Junaid Muhammed are all included in this task. APC may fare well without Buhari as the candidate. The new chairman, Oshiomhole and his National Working Committee, NWC, the governors of the party and other stakeholders in APC must see it as a duty to drop Buhari as their candidate so as to make APC a force to be reckoned with in next year’s election.

“They should go for a respectable and healthier candidate and avoid gerontocracy as we have seen in Buhari.”

PoliticsOshiomhole Blasts Obasanjo, Reveals What Ex-president Wants by 11Ebiscoo(op): 11:05pm On Jul 20, 2018
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole has claimed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is using other means to get the third term he failed to realize during his tenure.

Oshiomhole, speaking with State House correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, stated that Nigerians had decided not to return to the era where the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) fund was shared to people based on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s philosophy of “share the money.”

Answering question on the threat of mass defection from his party, Oshiomhole said: “I think it is something you should ask the PDP. They are the ones who have suffered huge, huge mass defection even of the so-called founding fathers. I mean, in those good old days, people like Prof. Jerry Gana will tell us, we are the founding fathers. People like President Obasanjo will tell us, you know I was the first President.

“All of these people are gone. I think the media need to get more engaged and scrutinize us, those of us who are political players. When we speak from both sides of the mouth or we are turning the story upside down.

“Just few months back, you know that a good section after their convention, people like Oyederan, Prof. Jerry Gana and a host of others who can be said to be founding fathers of that party, left to form what they call SDP or ADC or both. So, they broke out and then when it dawn on them that even together we defeated them just four years ago, and now further factionalised, what can they do.

“And they just want to capture power for the sake of power. So they say, even though we have already broken the house, can we for the sake of power come together. Does it make sense? In the morning, you broke away from PDP to SDP and then to ADC.

“And there is no better proof than that old man who is going round as an organising secretary recruiting people, looking for tired players to continue with a third term agenda which Nigerians had rejected.

“By whatever form they come in, Nigerians have spoken. They are not going to return to the era where Central Bank and NNPC security money is shared to people based on PDP philosophy ‘share the money’.

“We won’t do that, if they have forgotten. It is quite easy for robbers to forget easily the robbery they just did but it is not easy for the victim of the robbery to forget.”

Politics2019: APC Presidential Aspirants Attack Oshiomhole For Endorsing Buhari by 11Ebiscoo(op): 10:34am On Jul 19, 2018
Two Presidential aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have rejected the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole’s endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term.

The aspirants include, Dr. SKC Ogbonnia and Adamu Garba.

Oshiomhole had on Monday declared that Buhari, as the incumbent, had a right of first refusal of the party’s presidential ticket.

However, speaking with Vanguard, Ogbonnia said, “Comrade Oshiomhole is not speaking for the party but for himself. The APC leader, Bola Tinubu, made it clear that the presidential ticket of the party was open. Buhari, too, was quoted severally to support the rule of law and internal party democracy within APC.”

On his part, Garba said: “APC is purely a democratic party and will do nothing anti-democratic in its operations. We have started a process to formally go to his office and declare our interest in the office of the President.

“That I believe will remove the conditionality of the first right of refusal since it is evident that it is not only the President that is interested in the office of the President under the party.”

PoliticsAbout 500 Members Dump PDP For APC by 11Ebiscoo(op): 3:51pm On Jul 18, 2018
About 500 members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kuje Area Council.

Former PDP stalwarts, Sarkin Samari of Kayarda, Alhaji Abdulhameed Idris Sabo, Hajiya Ramatu Idris, Yahaya Mohammed Gambo were among those that decamped from the party in the area.

Receiving the former PDP members, the APC chairman in Kuje, Mr Godwin Poyi, commended them for their bold step in joining the ruling APC, noting that their decision was a clear indication that the present administration has performed credibly well.

He said, “APC is a viable alternative for good governance, we would carry you all along in the council’s affairs.”

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, a former PDP stalwart, Yahaya Mohammed Gambo, said they decamped due to impunity and lack of internal democracy in the PDP.

Gambo said they would work vigorously to ensure the victory of APC in the 2019 elections in the area.

On his part, the chairman of the council, Alhaji Abdullahi D. Galadima, appreciated the efforts of the former PDP stalwarts and members for identifying with the APC in the area council.

”My administration would treat you all equally with other members of the party based on open door policy devoid of any religious, tribal or party bias,” Galadima assure decampee.

PoliticsAtiku Promises To End Boko Haram And Herdsmen As President by 11Ebiscoo(op): 1:07am On Jul 18, 2018
Former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is aspiring to become President in 2019, on Tuesday, said he would put an end to the Boko Haram crisis in the shortest time after his inauguration as Nigeria’s number one citizen.

Abubakar, who is one of the presidential aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, made the vow while addressing his supporters at the Forshams Hall, Maiduguri, Borno State’s capital.

He said, “Nigeria ended its civil war in only two and a half years despite the thick forest in the South-East. I wonder why the war against insurgency took us nine years; there must be something wrong somewhere.”

He added, “If elected, I will not allow any commander to tell me stories, we must end insurgency within the shortest possible time because the insurgency has crippled everything in the North-East.”

The Director-General, Atiku campaign Organisation, Senator Gbenga Daniel, a former governor of Ogun State, said they were in Maiduguri in consultation with PDP stakeholders in Borno.

He said, “This is the chance for the people of the North-East to produce the next President, you should not miss this opportunity to produce the President. So, I call on you to support one of your own.”

Earlier speaking, the Borno State Coordinator, Atiku Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Mohammed Imam, said there was no need for them to be in Maiduguri, “as he (Atiku) need not campaign in the state.”

“Borno State is your own; you need not to campaign. We the people of Borno and Yobe are behind your candidature,” he promised.

Politics2019: PDP Warns Buhari Ahead Of Presidential Election by 11Ebiscoo(op): 10:42am On Jul 17, 2018
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to “mistake the rigging in Ekiti as acceptance by Nigerians”.

PDP warned that it will not allow such rigging during the 2019 Presidential election.

The opposition party said it was “shameful for President Muhammadu Buhari, who claims to be an anti-corruption champion, to glee over acts of electoral corruption that can truncate our democratic process.”

In a statement by its spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, the opposition party said it found as strange that President Buhari could not “condemn the emasculation and subversion of the will of Ekiti people and the stealing of another party’s victory by brute force.”

PDP also noted the “unsavoury statements by the Presidency, celebrating the subjugation of Ekiti people as a stamp for President Buhari, wherein it further boasted of a triumph for the President in the 2019 general election.”

The statement reads, “If for President Buhari and the APC, the subjugation of the people, as witnessed in Ekiti, amounts to an election, then the nation is headed to a serious crisis, as such will be resisted with all legitimate force available within our laws in the defence of our nation’s democracy.

“The APC and INEC must note that what happened in Ekiti, as a single state, cannot be pulled through in a general election, especially where the people have made up their minds to seek a new president.

“Nigeria is too big and too complex to be subjugated by a single individual or group of individuals, as any attempt to do so will definitely consume the conspirators.

“Moreover, while we are still pursuing the recovery of our stolen mandate in Ekiti, we state in very strong terms that this will be the last time the PDP will, under any circumstance whatsoever, allow itself to be manipulated out at the polls at any level.

“Finally, the PDP urges all our members and supporters to continue to remain calm over the daylight robbery that happened in Ekiti state, despite the provocations by the APC and the Presidency, as our leaders’ concert effort to ensure that justice is done.”

PoliticsEkiti Election: Fani-kayode Reacts To Observers’ Rejection Of Result, Tells Fayo by 11Ebiscoo(op): 11:11am On Jul 16, 2018
Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister has reacted to the rejection of the Ekiti State governorship election result by independent observers.

All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, in Saturday’s governorship election, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, was declared the winner of the poll.

A Coalition of observer groups and Civil Society Organisations, that monitored the elections rejected the emergence of Fayemi.

In a press statement signed by Comrade Haruna Farouk and Nze Adachi Okoro, the group said the election does not reflect what they saw on ground.

The coalition also promised to release its findings on Wednesday, July 18, which will include details of the malpractices that marred the election.

Reacting to the declaration by the coalition, Fani-Kayode urged the outgoing Governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose to take the matter to the election tribunal.

In a tweet, Fani-Kayode wrote: “Glad to hear that the Coalition of Election Observers have rejected the Ekiti results. I look forward to hearing the details of their findings which they say they will release on Wednesday.

“I urge @GovAyoFayose and @OfficialPDPNig to take up the matter at the election tribunal.

“Insecurity is at its peak, the slaughter of Nigerians is unprecedented, the country is divided, the economy is in shambles, the military are aggrieved because Buhari has not appointed new Service Chiefs, the votes are procured with public funds and elections are rigged. Wither Nigeria?”

PoliticsEkiti Election: PDP Candidate, Olusola Reacts To Fayemi’s Victory by 11Ebiscoo(op): 9:23pm On Jul 15, 2018
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Professor Kolapo Olubunmi Olusola, has rejected the outcome of Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had declared Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the gubernatorial poll.

The APC candidate garnered 197,459 votes while Olusola polled 178,114 votes.

However, in a reaction, Olusola who addressed newsmen in Ado Ekiti, on Sunday claimed that the governorship election was ‘hijacked by political desperadoes leveraging on “Federal might” to pervert the electoral process, subvert the will of Ekiti people, and viciously steal the mandate willingly.
He said “PDP and I won the election overwhelmingly, receiving more than 70 per cent of lawful votes cast and winning in almost all of the State’s 16 local government areas.

“I, therefore, reject the falsified results being bandied by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which purportedly gave the election to the All Progressives Congress and its Candidate, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi.

”The results as declared by INEC were the most audacious electoral robbery of our recent history, it shall not stand. By the grace of Almighty God and your support, I will pursue and regain my mandate.”

When asked how he felt the election was allegedly manipulated against his Party, Olusola said “the APC leveraged on its well-advertised but patently obnoxious and anti-democratic Federal might to intimidate, harass, victimize, oppress, and brutalize PDP leaders, members, and the voting public all over Ekiti.

“This brutal and barbaric process, which started well before the election, did not spare Governor Ayo Fayose and me; as the whole world had seen and had condemned. It is quite unfortunate that the harassment has continued even after the election.

“On Saturday, July 14th, the security agencies and INEC upped the ante, threw all caution to the wind, went back on their promises to be impartial and to conduct credible elections; they sided with APC and Fayemi to the chagrin of our party, myself, and the good people of Ekiti State.

“Despite the alarm we had earlier raised, the security agencies not only supported but also supervised the indiscriminate arrest of our party leaders and agents; the harassment and brutalization of voters on a massive scale, especially in Ado-Ekiti, Ikere and the suburbs.

“Giving cover, tacit as well as active support to thugs imported into Ekiti by APC to snatch ballot boxes, create confusion, cause mayhem, and drive away voters in PDP strongholds; giving cover to APC agents as they financially and openly induced voters and bought votes at polling stations; and driving away our polling agents from collation centres and illegal seizure of documents and materials in their possession, among many other infractions.”

SportsTransfer News: Manchester City Angry With Chelsea Over Jorginho Deal by 11Ebiscoo(op): 7:31pm On Jul 14, 2018
Manchester City are unlikely to do business with Napoli again, after the Serie A club pulled out of an agreement for midfielder Jorginho, ESPN reports.

Jorginho was a top target for Pep Guardiola, but has now joined Chelsea on a five-year deal worth around €60million.

However, City believe that the 26-year-old preferred a switch to The Etihad, despite claims from Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis, that he would rather move to London.

The Premier League champions believed Jorginho was “bullied” into a move to Chelsea, with Napoli threatening to keep him for the remaining two years of his contract.

A £43m transfer fee was agreed between De Laurentiis and City last month, but Napoli reneged on that deal. City refused to match Chelsea’s offer and walked away from the deal.

PoliticsBattle For 2019 :5 APC Governors Meet Tambuwal Behind Closed Doors by 11Ebiscoo(op): 2:04pm On Jul 13, 2018
Five Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday met with Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for about three hours at the government house in Sokoto.

The governors at the meeting include Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara and Kashim Shettima of Borno. Others were those of Adamawa, Jibrilla Bindow; Jigawa, Badaru Abubakar; Katsina, Aminu Masari; and Niger, Abubakar Sani Bello.

Speculations were rife that Tambuwal had perfected plans to return to PDP which he dumped in the buildup to the 2015 general elections while he was Speaker of the House of Representatives.

However, before the meeting, Governor Abdulaziz Yari, who led the other governors, told reporters, “We are in the state to commiserate with Tambuwal, the people of Sokoto and families of victims of the recent killings in Rabah Local Government Area of the state.”

However, shortly after the condolences, the governors went straight into a closed-door meeting.

Earlier, Governor Tambuwal had blamed leadership failure for the state of insecurity across the nation.

Sports3 Records Messi Could Break Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s Exit From Real Madrid by 11Ebiscoo(op): 8:59am On Jul 13, 2018
Barcelona star, Lionel Messi could possibly break three records in the game of football following forward, Cristiano Ronaldo’s move from Real Madrid to Juventus this summer.

Ronaldo ended his Los Blancos’s career this week when his £100million move to Juve was confirmed.

The Portuguese captain’s move to the Italian giants would help him conquer Serie A football.

The 33-year-old has managed to succeed in Spain and in England.

He has also built a legacy that will forever be remembered by the world.

However, below are three Ronaldo’s few records Messi could quite easily break now that the former Manchester United star have left Real.

1. The most representations in the UEFA team of the year: Ronaldo has made it into the team 12 times (3 at Manchester United and 9 at Real Madrid), while Messi has made it into the team 9 times (all 9 at Barcelona).

2. UEFA Champions League trophy; Ronaldo has won it 5 times, whereas Messi has won it 4 times.

3. The most representations in the UEFA team of the year for a single club: Ronaldo has made it into the team of the year 9 times at Real Madrid, while Messi has made the team 9 times at Barcelona. Ronaldo has joined Juventus, and this leaves Messi with an opportunity to become the player with most representations in the UEFA team of the year for a single club. If the Argentine captain manages to make a cut into this UEFA team of the year again, it will be his 10th for Barca.

PoliticsEkiti Guber: APC Chieftain, Frank Drags Buhari, APC To UN Over Fayose’s Ordeal by 11Ebiscoo(op): 4:32pm On Jul 12, 2018
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Timi Frank has dragged the ruling party and President Muhammadu Buhari before the Secretary-General of the United Nations, UN, António Guterres.

Frank called on the world leader to come to the aid of Nigeria and the people of Ekiti state in what he described as “dark hour of massive security crackdown against the people.”

He stated that democracy in the country is again being confronted by massive onslaught allegedly launched by security agents employed and funded by the country to protect the citizens and safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity.

In an open letter to the UN on Thursday entitled: “Police siege on Ekiti: Nigeria democracy on trial”, the APC chieftain said, “Yesterday the world saw an appalling form of impunity and brutality against innocent citizens in Ekiti State apparently in a last ditch effort to sway the results of this Saturday’s gubernatorial election in favour of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Kayode Fayemi.

“The rally (road walk) organized by the outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was not only disrupted with noxious and harmful gas, Fayose was forcefully restricted to the Government House – where he was equally gassed. This renewed intimidation, harassment and attacks against leaders and members of an opposition political party in Nigeria, has compelled me to alert you of the threat to peace and democracy in the country as amply demonstrated by the highhandedness and open display of intolerance by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) against opposition political parties in Nigeria.

“There is, therefore, urgent need for the United Nations (UN) under your leadership to intervene to prevent the ongoing gross violation of the fundamental human rights of citizens to assemble and the brutal attacks against the person of Fayose and hundreds of supporters of the PDP, who had congregated for a grand finale rally in favour of its candidate in the Election, Professor Olusola Eleka, only to be driven back to their houses by the police through the use of tear gas and live ammunitions. Note that the police were recently deployed to the State by the Federal Government under the guise of maintaining law and order before, during and after the Saturday election. Regrettably, the police deployed to the state in addition to the officers and men in the Ekiti State Police Command have now turned to be an army of occupation.

“The ongoing police siege on Ekiti State by 30,000 fully armed policemen in the guise of election duty is nothing but a well-orchestrated security crackdown on innocent citizens who are hoping to be allowed to cast their ballot on Saturday and participate in electing the next governor of the state.

“It has been established by several UN Conventions and human rights’ charter that the right to vote and be voted for is an inalienable right of a citizens of any country. For the a avoidance of doubt, the number of police personnel and equipment deployed so far for the Ekiti election include a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police in charge of operations, Assistant Inspectors General of Police, Four Commissioners of Police, eight Deputy Commissioners of Police, 30,000 fully armed policemen, two patrol surveillance helicopters, 5 additional armored personnel carriers, 10 amoured personnel vehicles and 25,000 police patrol vehicles. The above represents police deployment. Other security agencies will yet make similar deployments.”

While calling on the UN to call the APC-led federal government to order, Frank said: “I dare say that the unlawful use of the police against innocent citizens and members of the opposition PDP in Ekiti is a direct manifestation of the level of desperation of the APC and the present administration to win the Ekiti Governorship election.

“Let me add that had ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP been this desperate in 2015, Buhari and APC would never have tasted power. Impunity has overwhelmed us in Nigeria. And we need help to ensure that our democracy and voting process is devoid of harassment, intimidation and undue influence by the government.

“If the open display of barbarity by the police in Ekiti State, is anything to go by, one can safely say that a worse fate awaits members and leaders of the opposition political parties during the 2019 general elections.

“The UN and by extension the world cannot afford to condone this open aggression against a peaceful people gearing up to elect a governor of their choice! This is why I am calling on you to come to the aid of Nigeria in this dark hour of massive security crackdown against the people of Ekiti State.

“Otherwise, chaos and anarchy may soon reign in an unimaginable way should the people now pushed against the wall be forced to resort to self help to defend themselves. If a Governor can be treated in such shabby and inhuman manner, then where lies the hope for the common man on the streets?” he asked.

CelebritiesEFCC, ICPC, FIRS, Others Directed To Witch-hunt Political Opponents – Obasanjo by 11Ebiscoo(op): 2:51pm On Jul 11, 2018
Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has alleged that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government was using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission, ICPC, to “witch-hunt” political opponents.

He said this while claiming that the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government was intimidating judges to do their bidding on election matters.

Obasanjo spoke at a colloquium to mark the 70th birthday of Josephine Aenenih, former Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development in Abuja.

According to Obasanjo, “Some institutions created for normal administration and dispensation of justice, like the EFCC, the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the ministry of justice are being directed to witch-hunt and pursue political opponents.

“The use of intimidation, violence and physical attacks have started in some states. It is understood that judges are already being intimidated so as to prepare them to do the ruling party’s bidding in election petitions. All these are visible in today’s practice of democracy in Nigeria.

“For me, that after almost 20 years of the beginning of the democeacy, it has not been derailed, is enough a development in progress, even though there are many unpalatable practices and dangerous signs that have shown their ugly heads, which is the strongest indication that our democracy is alive but, it cannot be said to be hale and hearty. Practitioners of democracy must be democrats if you have a lot to be desired.”

PoliticsHerdsmen Killings: Tambuwal Speaks On Rising Insecurity by 11Ebiscoo(op): 9:10pm On Jul 10, 2018
Sokoto State Governor, Dr. Aminu Tambuwal, has blamed the recurring killings in most parts of the country to the failure of leadership.

He lamented that the harvests of deaths were not what Nigerians voted for in 2015.

In a statement on Tuesday, Tambuwal noted that the growing spate of mindless shedding of innocent blood, especially of policemen and other security personnel on their lawful duty posts, has brought a new dimension to the reprehensible state of insecurity in the country.

The governor said with the killing of security agents on their duty posts, the questions from every law-abiding citizen today are: “Who will protect us, when even those constitutionally charged with the responsibility of protecting our lives and property have, themselves, become vulnerable targets of criminals?

“Where shall we run to for protection, when the institutions of State put in place to protect us are being progressively dismantled by opportunistic criminality and the trained personnel are also on the run?

”Last May, three policemen were shot dead in Sokoto State by kidnappers, who abducted a Syrian national they were escorting. A few days later, four police officers were ambushed and killed in Benue State. Last week seven policemen were reportedly gunned down in cold blood in Abuja, and their arms and ammunition were taken, by unknown persons. This is happening amidst repeatedly reported cases of attacks on police stations and other security facilities in various parts of the country.

“It bears repeating for me to state here that Nigeria’s security architecture and the strategies currently adopted and deployed for national security, if any, need a comprehensive overhaul. It is not working. The needless waste of life everywhere, both those of trained security personnel and ordinary citizens, is a drain on the nation’s resources and an unacceptable diminution of our valuable human capital.

”Every policeman or military personnel is someone’s father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt or friend. The number and frequency of deaths are undermining our humanity, making us less sensitive to the gravity of the situation we are in today and also creating a new generation of Nigerians, who may get accustomed to inhuman acts as the norm.

”The worst part of all this is that these deaths are avoidable and the killings preventable. It boils down, at the end of the day, to the failure of leadership. Nigeria cannot progress and be part of a 21st Century forward-looking world by creating new batches of mourners every other day. This is not the way to go. That is not what Nigerians voted for in 2015. That is not what will build a virile, united, united, politically stable and economically prosperous African Giant.”

PoliticsEkiti Guber A Litmus Test For 2019 – Speaker Oluwawole by 11Ebiscoo(op): 6:48pm On Jul 09, 2018
The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Right Honourable (Pastor) Kola Oluwawole, has described this Saturday’s governorship election in the state as a litmus test for the performance of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the 2019 general elections.

According to a statement by his Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, in Ado Ekiti on Monday, the Speaker made the statement during a rally for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, at Osan-Ekiti and Erinmope in Moba Local Government Area of the state, at the weekend.

Accompanied by leaders of the party in the local government as well as thousands of PDP enthusiasts, Oluwawole tutored the mammoth crowd on how to cast their ballot, while appealing to them to vote massively for the PDP.

“We thank you for your usual support for the PDP. This time around, we have ẹ a heavy task in our hands. This governorship election will be the litmus test for 2019. We must reject the party of killers right from next Saturday.

“Let us vote en mass for Professor Kolapo Olusola of the PDP. Our best bet is continuity. We don’t want to return to Egypt. We are moving forward with the unprecedented development of our state.

“Let me assure you that the Otun-Ekiti township road that the administration of Dr Peter Ayodele Fayose started will be completed by his administration. Every forces militating against its completion shall be subdued in Jesus name.

“We are no longer voting a government of debt. We say no to government that sacks teachers. We say no to government that would bring cows to sleep on our beds. We say no to government that would submit our lives to gunmen,” he said.

Other speakers at the rallies, including the Chairman of Moba Local Government, Mr Femi Ayeni; immediate-past chairman, Mr Adeniyi Adebayo; and a former member of the state House of Assembly, Mrs Ayoka Olajide, extolled the virtues of Pastor Oluwawole.

PoliticsSenate Leader Flags Off Buhari’s Re-election Campaign by 11Ebiscoo(op): 9:50am On Jul 09, 2018
The All Progressive Congress (APC) North West zone, has flagged off campaign for President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term in office.

Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan, on Sunday inaugurated campaign volunteers drawn from the 186 local government areas in the region.

NAN reports that Lawan, represented by Sen. Abu Ibrahim, explained that the volunteers would highlight the achievements of the Buhari administration especially “in the area of security, economy, fight against corruption and infrastructural development with consequent redemption of hitherto soiled image of Nigeria in the comity of nations”.

“There is no gainsaying that President Buhari took the mantle of leadership of Nigeria when it was almost on a brink of collapse evident in the activities of Boko Haram terrorist which had captured over 14 local governments.

“The economy was battered by the government that Buhari succeeded to the point that payment of workers salaries was about to be impossible due to embezzlement, bribery and other related economic and financial recklessness.

“Other reasons why we voluntarily support Buhari /Osinbajo 2019 presidency includes it’s sincerity of purpose, integrity, transparency, accountability, discipline, ethics, trust and tolerance displayed over the years.

“The strong desire of the administration for continuity in progress, readiness to create opportunities for leadership experience among the youth also makes a basic requirement for their re-election in 2019,” he added.

Chairman, Northern Senators Forum, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, said that the administration had taken good measures within three years to address some of the challenges facing the country.

Wamakko said the diversification of Nigeria economy from old age reliance on oil as the mainstay of the county’s economy to agriculture and mining had produced positive results.

“Yet again, the government also engages in providing infrastructure service to Nigerian in terms of good roads, railways, houses across the country,” he said.

Sen. Jibrin Barau expressed support for the laudable achievements of President Buhari, adding “we must work together to sustain the good work as what President Buhari administration has done PDP has not done in their 16 years.”

Politics2019: Ndigbo Should Accept Buhari’s Olive Branch – VON DG, Okechukwu by 11Ebiscoo(op): 6:39pm On Jul 08, 2018
Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON) and chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Osita Okechukwu has urged Ndigbo to accept the olive branch offered to them by President Muhammadu Buhari.

President Buhari had last week at Owerri, through the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, told Ndigbo that it would be their turn to produce President of Nigeria of Igbo extraction in 2023, going by the zoning convention.

Mustafa, however, noted that the realization of a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction lied on the support of Ndigbo for President Buhari in 2019.

The SGF had said, “2019 will make or mar the aspiration of Igbo nation. I am calling on the Igbo to make a paradigm shift and think seriously of their position.

“The choice is that of the Igbo nation. What happens in 2019 will determine the future of the region. The presidency of Nigeria is negotiable and can only be done on position of strength and the strength of the Igbo will be determined by 2019 support for Buhari.’’

Answering questions on the raging issue of rAPC from journalists in Enugu on Sunday, Okechukwu brushed aside the emergence of rAPC and urged Ndigbo to pluck the Olive Branch offered by Buhari.

He described the statement made by the SGF as a wake-up call and an Olive Branch by President Buhari to Ndigbo.
“In simplicita, it translates to Ndigbo vote for Mr. President in 2019 and the president is for Ndigbo in 2023. Methinks, this is the most pragmatic and fastest route to Nigeria President of Igbo extraction and hence enlistment of Ndigbo into the mainstream of Nigeria’s political landscape.

“It will automatically end long years’ sulk of marginalisation and fully integrate our dear country,” he said.
On the position of pundits that President Buhari does not like Ndigbo, Okechukwu recalled that “twice Buhari chose Igbo sons as his running mates in 2003 and 2007 – Rt. Hons Chuba Okadigbo and Edwin Umezoke- both of blessed memory. And if Ndigbo had voted for him, with his vote-bank of 12 million, he could have won.”
He maintained that “Igbo vote was the missing link then and even today, so we must make a paradigm shift and think out of the box.”
Asked how to convince Ndigbo who are clamouring for restructuring to vote for Buhari in view of the situation in the country, Okechukwu quipped, “Beware of propaganda and campaign taunts, 95 percent of those clamouring for restructuring are for one Nigeria.

“The herdsmen/farmers clash will soon stop. Therefore, not only that Buhari is the only Northerner who constitutionally has 4 years left; methinks that no other Northerner will do better than him, as per restructuring and especially critical infrastructure, given his integrity quotient.”
On the debate whether the North will allow the zoning convention to subsist after 2023, he said Nigerians and Ndigbo in particular should not forget that it was the Northern political elites who out of enlightened patriotism, peace and harmony of our dear country, that initiated the zoning convention.
He insisted that “what is expected of Ndigbo is to vote for Buhari, if not our South West brothers and sisters who have adopted him will triumph. But if we vote Buhari, we will then appeal to both the South and North to support Igbo candidate.

“Ndigbo have equity and natural justice on our side, being the only geopolitical zone in the South which had not benefited from the zoning convention since its inception in 1999.”

“Let’s vote for Buhari in 2019 and pluck the Olive Branch of President of Nigeria of Igbo extraction in 2023. It is more pragmatic and surreal. It’s what Zik would do if he was alive,” Okechukwu said.

CelebritiesRuntown Dragged To Court Again By Record Label Days After Releasing New Song by 11Ebiscoo(op): 9:04pm On Jul 04, 2018
Nigerian singer, Runtown has been dragged to court again by his estranged label, Eric Many. This time around, it is concerning a case of contempt after the singer released a new song against a court order restraining such.

Below is a statement by the label’s general manager, Johnson Adumike.

Runtown dragged to court again by record label days after releasing new song

‘we are in Court with Runtown for his breach of our Recording Contract. We sued him because while applying to the Registrar of Trademarks in Abuja to register professional names licensed to us during the duration of our contract, Runtown also unilaterally terminated our Recording Contract with him’.

‘While our Contract is supposed to fall due for expiration on 22nd June 2018, Ericmany has an outstanding balance of about N266,694,755.08 to recoup on our investment and expenses on Runtown. He also failed to deliver an Album which the Contract requires him to deliver to us during the Contract Period. Under the contract if there is outstanding money or Album by 22nd June, 2018, end of the Contract Period, the Contract enters into an Option Period of one year. Runtown has neither honoured the Contract Period nor the Option Period. Following our application, Abuja High Court made an Interim Order on 10th May, 2018, barring Runtown from any performance or recording of any song outside our Contract until the issues are sorted out by Court.

‘The Judge also ordered that status quo be maintained until our Motion praying for this protection is decided. Yet on 27th June, 2018 Runtown released a new song outside our Contract. Determined to follow due process in our dispute with Runtown we have filed a Contempt of Court case against him. Following Court Order to serve Runtown by publication in the Punch, our Notice of Contempt of Court is published at page 22 of The Punch Newspaper today. If he still fails to respect Court Order by removing the song, we will follow up with the next steps to ensure Runtown is committed to prison, since he is not above the law.

‘If he felt the Court Order is wrong, his lawyer has already appeared in Court and filed papers. It is for his lawyer to show the Court that the Order is wrong. It is not open to Runtown to ignore Court Order. It is important to state that we are at home with the fact that Runtown does not intend to continue working with us. We are not in any confusion about that. We have therefore not asked the Court to order him to continue working with us. Our case is for recovery of our money and the Album he owes in line with the Contract. It is the duty of both sides to abide by Court Orders. So Ericmany will continue t rely on due process until we get justice’.

It all started when Alex was accused of copying Nina’s henna about one week ago.

Alex in her response slammed the follower who raised the allegation, saying “First off, it’s not a tattoo. Second of all, it wasn’t made for anybody in particular as many people have done it before and will still do it, third of all, lunatics are not allowed to comment here, I can hear your doctor call.

“It’s time for your medication. Now run along and play with sand. You will tell me when Nina invented henna. (bia did I spell it well biko?) Anumpam.

Few minutes later, Nina posted an Instagram story, saying “Some things be mentioning me on their page. Please positive vibes only and hey don’t mention me in your negativity.”

However, Alex took to her Instastory moments ago to clear the air, stating that she has got no fight with Nina and that their post was not directed at each other.
