Re: Obasanjo And Tinubu: Who Is A Better Leader? by jaso1(m): 3:44pm On Feb 20, 2013
When you talk of leader it has to go with quality of the person in the sphere of deliverables.
Tinubu as formal governor of Lagos state introduce most of people benefit project that other states now used to efficiently govern their people.
In Yoruba land what Tinubu is presently doing - is to create an environment where people will be seeing as normal human being.
He introduce BRT to eliminate disconnect between the reach and the poor. This is what good governance is all about, bringing the poor and the rich together, with this; people feel less superior and subsequently reduce the interest to loot.
You can’t point something good to Obj. the only thing that can be attributed to him is corruption, because his regime compliment, institutionalize and bring impunity into corruption menace.

When you talk of leaders, there are many forms as political, religious, family and so on. Its so ridiculous to compare a dog and lion as one of the speaker had said, in Nigeria and africa today, OBJ remains second to non in his wealth of experience and love for his fatherland. The return of Nigeria to democratic nation which tinubu is exploiting now is an handwork of OTA man, many of our delapidated public offices during donkey millitary era were almost restored by his administration. I can rememba befor 1999, teachers, traders, farmers, polices, and other hardworking civil servants were so wretched that many of them cant send their ward to higher institution of learning. In area of corruption, OBJ remains one of the most effective leader to wage war on corrupt govt officials, he initiated agencies like EFCC,ICPC and others to fight the menace, today we can see the good fruits of this agencies, James Ibori, Bamikole, Otedola vs lawan, tafa balogun, alamaisegah and the likes. Nobody in life is Mr. Perfect, obj has loopholes but his goodworks will later be cellebrated by generation unborn. As for Tinubu, i commend his role in oppositioning, he has add beauty to our democracy as strong opposition is d wheel for good and competitive govrnance..however, praising him bcuz he ruled lagos state without federal allowance is good. But does dat means he is free frm corruption? Infact, tinubu shld beta be a garrage leader rather than political, he sponsored many thugery acts and up till now he is their father. Do you knw hw ballots boxes are snatched in lagos? Only if Tinubu can rule Nigeria then u will all learn of his incompetence and lack of good vission.

Tinubu is a better leader any day. You judge by the person he handed over power to after his reign as governor. Obj is just a strong man but not a good leader. One thing that confirmed that is handing over power to Yardua and the third term agenda. The reason why Orji Uzo Kalu is also a bad leader. Tinubu is a rare gift to a people and am happy that his people recognise that.

Judging from the succesors, Yaradua is moslt transparent than any of our current leaders...when u are talking of respect, only the ignorant membas of the southwest will not appreciate obj policies, tinubu cannot point to any vissible acheivement both regional and national level..do u knw how much he lavished on ondo guber? Frm whose purse?...like i said earlier, obj has his badside but the gud side superceded.....go to eastern region, u will see his handwriting, tinapa resort..during his tenure, useful oppositionmembas were used as ministers...tinubu is an accident and a disaster to yoruba land, he will soon fade out...watchout!

Tinubu in my opinion. You judge leaders by the good they have done for those they lead. Tinubu has never led at the federal level as OBJ has. We are then only left to compare their activities mainly as political leaders and 'kingmakers' in their region. There is simply no denying, unless one is talking to the most unreasonable person, the fact that Tinubu literally rescued the SW from its criminalisation by OBJ. Left to OBJ, PHD holders and very talented technocrats will remain taking instructions from the late Adedibu and serving him lunch. That was the warped world OBJ wanted for the SW i.e unthinking thugs on top and the most intelligent and talented individuals relegated to the background almost as if OBJ had absolute disdain for them.

It was especially telling that OBJ always favoured crude bullies, criminals and vicious thugs as his 'Garrison commanders" but Tinubu, for all his faults, has never had any use for those sort as leaders.

Everyone will have their opinion but more important than anything else for development is setting standards, based on merit, no leader should go below. Pointless, given the requirement of top political offices, to support mediocrities into very influential positions knowing fully well that doing this will ruin lives.

Tinubu appreciates that development , using bright and able administrators, must still go on alongside everything else while OBJ never cared for that and actually appeared to take a perverse happiness in ruining the SW with his criminal gang. No contest really.

Tinubu beats Obasanjo hands down. Obasanjo is an arrogant dictator who just wants to be at the top, wielding power, totally disconnected from the masses. A very vindictive man too. Tinubu is an opposite of that.

Aahhh, mediocrity at its peak, obj never had respect for thugs...its Tinubus specialization, he embrace thugeries and even fiance them during his tenure as lagos gov...this has bin one reasons he had dispute with fashola...moreover, his political career was even built on political pandemonium. He has enslave part of southwest and only ondo state rejected his stupid offer...do u knw he is now Cahncelor in Lautech? What a mirrage? Am sorry for southwest

Comparing a whole former president and former head of state like this?

If not that OBJ performed silly as a president and relegated himself at home, he supposed to be one of the best leader ever.

You are novice and refused to know. Tinubu stand for unity and genuennely working for the progress of the SW in a situation Nigeria fail to work. He had no case of infidelity like Obj (having sex with his son's wife).
Obj blindly looted more than any president in the history of this country, He introduced excess crude oil account with objective of looting in the name of maintaining infrastructure. Hire assassin was legalize during his regime; we are still looking for the killer of genuine Yoruba man (Bola Ige). The money injected as claimed on power sector during obj’s regime is enough to stabilize electricity in Nigeria but what did we get? Obasanjo in his devilish and dastard act can't point out something he did to his region while in government. Some Abiola property was confiscated and diverted by this same obj but some were release by Yaradua. Obj declare do or die of election, what else do you need to attest to the fact that this man is filled up with evil and dangerous? He’s good in painting himself good for illiterate, he claims responsibility for all positive results and denied evils obviosly done by him. Prof. Wole Shoyinka, a respected Yoruba son, will be glad relating with Tinubu than obasanjo because he's knowledgeable about evil obj capable of doing.

Ha! Musiwa16. What about musiwa1,2,3.....15. shocked shocked

U won buy shares for nairaland? Na wah oh.

Op, Tinubu trumps OBJ any day, any way. Obj refused to pay Tinubu Lagos's state allowance, yet he performed better than most governors.

With due respect to them both, anyway.
