manny4life: Dede1: @Manny The Ezeship congregation in nairalan may be virtual, but it is an actual documentation of the way of life of the Igbos. You can see the exchange of ideas and opinions towards achiving the desired goal. In as much as the eventual winner will not practically assume royalty in the outerworld, the process followed can still be adopted by some modern day communities with little amendment to electing their own Eze. EzeNdigbo Nairaland wu ogbako umuigbo. ebe ha na ano atu le echiche ga eweta oganihu alaigbo na kwa obodo naijiria. |

mafifle: Thank you for stating your opinion, but I think you misunderstand me in that particular part. I haven't said royalty isn't the way of life of our people, in fact, that's why I ended my quote with this is a learning experience for many, nevertheless, I was emphasizing on the nay sayers who says Igbo people do not have "one leader", and if at all, they have several leaders in their communities. These sayers often condemn this activity because the "one-leader" concept is nonexistent and view this concept as an abuse of the Igbo race as a whole, hence my response. This virtual sorta of leadership is practically non-existent and doesn't in any way represent the true reality of facts of our people. |

In additon to my nomination of ALEX101 I will also nominate Biafra rep as my second nomination, not because of his ID but because of the way he aproach topics. Okija juju is insane and his insanity is not hidden in his comments, so we cannot have an insane person as a candidate for leadership and no need asking me to provide proof for okija juju's insanity as all one needs to do is go through his junky profile. Unless this leadership position is also for junkies. Thanks. PointB: @Noiseless, |

ndu_chucks: You are at it again with your mischievous intentions. In this case though, I know you are not obligated to be genuine and factual as your pedestal approach showed. In your usual attempt to be smart and end up exuding niche for delusion, you should agree the term, “Give me water”, indicates sense of begging. For your conjectural crap to hold water, Ndigbo must have been largely beggars of water in northern region of Nigeria. However, all the indices showed otherwise. Again, Ndigbo would not beg for anything without adding “Biko” to the request phrase. For example your ridiculous attempt on the #2 would have read: Please, give me water = Biko Nye m mmiri. Aboki would have unfortunately interpreted it as BokoNyamiri However, the truth remained that the shoulder-water-carrying Aboki hawkers on the streets of northern Nigeria are always on the move to meet daily runs. Therefore the mostly water buyers, in this case Ndigbo, have the tendency to shout Onye Mmiri, Onye Mmiri, Onye Mmiri in order to attract the attention of the Aboki hustling down the street with loads of containers of water on their shoulders or heads as the case maybe. The constant yelling of “Onye Mmiri” by Ndigbo, both young and old, led to the coinage of the term Nyemiri. I guess the dielectrically constraints forced out O, E and one of the Ms from “Onye Mmiri” to give rise to “Nyamiri” I am not losing anything rather you are perfecting the act of denial and the niche to be mischievous as you grow into adulthood, Nwannem. You should stop regarding a belly bath as a full bath. 1 Like |

Dede1: Why are you indirectly calling fellow Igbos dummies simply because they lived in the North? Have you forgotten that Ikemba himself was born there? Igbos who live up North were and are smart enough to learn Hausa. The water traders you referred to are called "Mai Ruwa" by all and sundry. Trust me, these water traders did not speak Igbo. When you saw the traders down the road you'd yell Mai Ruwa and they'd bring their goods to you. The resident Igbos were not dumb to the point of yelling Onye Mmiri like mad men when the traders would not understand that its a call for their patronage. In fact most Igbo people called the traders by yelling "Mai Luwa". They pronounced "Ruwa" as "Luwa" just as they pronounced "Toro" aa "Tolo". Even to this day, I wouldn't be surprised if you yourself have trouble with the pronunciation of the letter "R" being the unrepentant revisionist and secessionist that you are. As you told us a few years ago, even the Igbo prostitutes would say "luwa ya zo, tashi" instead of "Ruwa ya zo, tashi" (meaning water has arrived, get up) Dede1, give it up. |
