Why do you ask Mary to pray and hear your prayers? The Bible says there is only one mediator between man and God, Jesus Christ.

Linus was mentioned in Paul's epistle 2 Tim 4:21,

St Ireneaus Bishop of Lyons had this to say in 175CE

" The blessed apostles, then, having founded and built up the Church, committed into the hands of Linus the office of the episcopate. Of this Linus, Paul makes mention in the Epistles to Timothy. To him succeeded Anacletus; and after him, in the third place from the apostles, Clement was allotted the bishopric. This man, as he had seen the blessed apostles, and had been conversant with them, might be said to have the preaching of the apostles still echoing [in his ears], and their traditions before his eyes. Nor was he alone [in this], for there were many still remaining who had received instructions from the apostles. In the time of this Clement, no small dissension having occurred among the brethren at Corinth, the Church in Rome despatched a most powerful letter to the Corinthians, exhorting them to peace, renewing their faith, and declaring the tradition which it had lately received from the apostles, proclaiming the one God, omnipotent, the Maker of heaven and earth, the Creator of man, who brought on the deluge, and called Abraham, who led the people from the land of Egypt, spake with Moses, set forth the law, sent the prophets, and who has prepared fire for the devil and his angels. From this document, whosoever chooses to do so, may learn that He, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, was preached by the Churches, and may also understand the apostolical tradition of the Church, since this Epistle is of older date than these men who are now propagating falsehood, and who conjure into existence another god beyond the Creator and the Maker of all existing things. To this Clement there succeeded Evaristus. Alexander followed Evaristus; then, sixth from the apostles, Sixtus was appointed; after him, Telephorus, who was gloriously martyred; then Hyginus; after him, Pius; then after him, Anicetus. Sorer having succeeded Anicetus, Eleutherius does now, in the twelfth place from the apostles, hold the inheritance of the episcopate. In this order, and by this succession, the ecclesiastical tradition from the apostles, and the preaching of the truth, have come down to us. And this is most abundant proof that there is one and the same vivifying faith, which has been preserved in the Church from the apostles until now, and handed down in truth.

4. But Polycarp also was not only instructed by apostles, and conversed with many who had seen Christ, but was also, by apostles in Asia, appointed bishop of the Church in Smyrna, whom I also saw in my early youth, for he tarried [on earth] a very long time, and, when a very old man, gloriously and most nobly suffering martyrdom, departed this life, having always taught the things which he had learned from the apostles, and which the Church has handed down, and which alone are true. To these things all the Asiatic Churches testify, as do also those men who have succeeded Polycarp down to the present time -- a man who was of much greater weight, and a more stedfast witness of truth, than Valentinus, and Marcion, and the rest of the heretics. He it was who, coming to Rome in the time of Anicetus caused many to turn away from the aforesaid heretics to the Church of God, proclaiming that he had received this one and sole truth from the apostles -- that, namely, which is handed down by the Church. There are also those who heard from him that John, the disciple of the Lord, going to bathe at Ephesus, and perceiving Cerinthus within, rushed out of the bath-house without bathing, exclaiming, "Let us fly, lest even the bath-house fall down, because Cerinthus, the enemy of the truth, is within." And Polycarp himself replied to Marcion, who met him on one occasion, and said, "Dost thou know me?" "I do know thee, the first-born of Satan." Such was the horror which the apostles and their disciples had against holding even verbal communication with any corrupters of the truth; as Paul also says, "A man that is an heretic, after the first and second admonition, reject; knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself." There is also a very powerful Epistle of Polycarp written to the Philippians, from which those who choose to do so, and are anxious about their salvation, can learn the character of his faith, and the preaching of the truth. Then, again, the Church in Ephesus, founded by Paul, and having John remaining among them permanently until the times of Trajan, is a true witness of the tradition of the apostles."~ St ireneaus in Against Heresies 175 CE

We have been doing that for over 2000 years so your hatred for it or your lack of understanding can never prevail against the Church till the ends of time because of Christ's commission to Peter "Upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it".

Mr Blocker write in a matured way. I don't have hatred for it nither for your church, you can explain yourself without using such word even if I will not belive it.
Mind you God is not the father, son and Holy Sprit. There is no such thing called Trinity or have you seen that word in the Bible?

This linus, was he the bishop at Rome, because at this time paul wrote 2nd timothy, timothy was Bishop of the Ephesians.

Why was it rome that killed Paul? Was the church in Rome under persecution from Nero or they supported Paul's death?

Neither Peter nor any of the apostles were catholic. They were actually hunted and killed by the catholics/romans. Emperor Nero was the first pope. He merged the church and state to destroy christianity. The catholics only claim peter was the first pope to try and give it legitimacy. During the early reign of the catholic church, it was a crime punishable by death to read the scriptures. You were only permitted to read the cathecism. Martin luther was the first to translate the scriptures for public consumtion. The disciples and apostles were hounded for centuries by the catholic church. The history is there in the open.

There is nothing like mother or children church. The church is the body of Christ. It is not an institution. It is a spiritual living entity that consists of everyone who have accepted Christ as saviour and Lord. It has no name like catholic or Anglican or Redeemed. Men give these names to institutions they have founded. The name of the church is Jesus. That is the name the church bares. Ephesians 3. The church is a family, not some building or institution in rome or the USA! The Roman Catholics are free to do their religion but there is nothing like mother or child church as far as the kingdom of God is concerned.

The pope is he emperor of the roman empire who woke up one day and claimed he is now the head of the church. Jesus nor his disciples never created such a position. No one can take the place of Christ. He is the head and everyone else who have received him as Lord and savior is a member of the body. You are free to believe what you believe but it is not from Jesus or Peter or any of the apostles. Nero was the first pope.

Why do u go to ur pastors and prophets to pray 4 u

Where is it in the Bible that Mary should pray for you?
The Bible say if you are sick or in need of prayers you can seek the help of Prophets. Where is yours written?

Please if you dont understand something, ask for clarification and pray for understanding.
1. The catholics DO NOT worship Mary, they give her honour because even if God would have selected any other woman, but He chose her. God has a reason for doing that. The virgin Mary intercedes on their behalf. They dont pray through her, they ask her to intercede, which means in lay man words means 'abeg join me in asking'
2. some ask, why do they bow down to a statue of Jesus, well Why do legislators bow down to the mace, or why do you bow down when u greet an elder, you do that out of reverence and respect for what the symbol stands for.
3. why do they pray through Mary? Catholics can pray to Jesus directly if they want to do that, its between you and God. but why do you go and ask a mother for favour from her son, because you know a son would not deny his mother a request. you can go directly to the son and ask if you so choose. I repeat, 'they dont pray through Mary', they ask her to intercede in their prayer.
4. the catholic church is not the oldest church, but its the oldest order that believes in the supremacy of Jesus Christ.
5. And yes, St peter was the first Head (not Pope) of the church that later evolved to the catholic church.

so please try not to criticize what you dont really understand
