dapie: bros u have not explained it clearly. is it 6.40 kobo/minute on net .if it is what about off net.It is N 6.40 per minute divided by 60seconds will give you about 10kobo per second but opperators need at least N2 naira margin thats why the will charge nothing less than N9 naira per minute aka 15 kobö per second. 1 Like |

johndarey: Still dnt get...i think dose amounts will be per minute..if yes, what about cases whrby d call is 4 instance nt up to a minute?...will d same '#6.40' be charged? This is simple maths, just divide the per minute rate by 60 which is 60 seconds makes a minute. |
Re: NCC Releases Interconnect Rates For Telecoms by Nobody: 2:46pm On Mar 24, 2013 |
you guys need to understand what this really means before u start jumping for joy. with the interconnect rate pegged at N4.90, this means MTN, Airtel Etisalat and Glo can still charge whatever they like on top of the N4.90. for instance if i use an Airtel line to call Glo, what i'll pay for a minute is N4.90&+airtel's profit and it could be N4.90+N10 or N20. What NCC should have done is to establish a limit the operators cannot go above. Presently if i call MTN,Glo, Etisalat etc with my Airtel line, i pay N18 for one minute with the interconnect rate presently at N8.2. If u deduct N8.2 from N18, it means Airtel presently makes a gross profit of N9.8 on every Minute call i make. with the interconnect rate to be brought done, just deduct N3.3 from N18, u'll have N14.7 to pay. This also applies to other network. Thats what this policy means by my own understanding........... 7 Likes |

Re: NCC Releases Interconnect Rates For Telecoms by tivta(m): 2:53pm On Mar 24, 2013 |
toba: you guys need to understand what this really means before u start jumping for joy. You miss calculated man. Airtel makes a profit of not more than N2 per minute currently. 18kobo persecond times 60 equals N10.2 and the current inter connect rate is N8.2 so N10.2-N8.2 equalls N2 profit. 2 Likes |

It is a step in the right direction. These mobile companies av ripped nigerians enuf. Its time nigerians start enjoyin the payoff. They make so much dat they can afford to use airplanes as give away prices n dash coaches SUVs n already paid apartments n still remain plenty more to lavish around with. |

tivta:Not correct at all mr. let me educate u on how Airtel charges. If u buy any internet bundle from 200mb every month, i.e paying N1000 for the data plan, your tarrif automatically drops to N10.2 per minute on airtel. thats after you might have done something to get the offer for Just 30 days. As soon as u failed to renew after the 30 days, u'll start paying N18 per minute for calls to other network. For those that doesnt buy data plans from Airtel, they pay N18 per minute anything any day. Anything lesser than N18 is promo based, which is attached to a condition 1 Like |
