Solutions_Guy: Some say it is 'severance package', some say it is 'approval of training budget', others say it is 'delay until they hand over DISCOs and GENCOs', some others even say it is that 'the recruitment wasn't transparent'. Lol, Lol and Lol again!!! It is just that people in here always want to hear something and soothe their burning anxiety. If one should tell him/herself the truth, how will approval of training money stop ordinary documentation. Govt owes itself and NAPTIN doesn't need bags full of cash to train TCN staff. They are all under the same ministry and will reconcile accounts later (even if they will be paid in the next 5 yrs).
Bottom-line, something is holding the process but all the hear-says pasted here are FAR from anything 'reliable'. It could be tomorrow, it could be February, it could be next one year, it could also be cancelled entirely. They are all very very possible options. Go get busy people! Go to school, go do some training, continue with your current work, or just do something, instead of sitting day-in day-out and swallowing doses of lies & getting deceived on this wall(at your age).

All fact are not truth , but all truth are fact: gbammmm! Considering all likely reasons that could cause delay of documentation, severance package, approval of training budget and d rest, d two mentioned reasons could actually cause the delay because they both have to do with money. I remember vividly that house of assembly questioned the Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation, Dr. Bright Okogu (http://www.punchng.com/news/nigeria-not-broke-but-cash-strapped-dg-budget-agf/) that the federation was broke but denied it and said the challenge they are facing is with cash flow not that the federation is broke.

But as for those who suggested malpractices during recruitment process is a fallacy/propaganda of the highest order.

I don't really see liars in this forum except for Sons of perdition who are looking, working and campaigning for cancellation of the appointment. I will advice them to desist and stop pasting things that could discredit the recruitment process.

Does it really matter? Why should I convince anyone else that I have something with TCN? It's utterly immaterial. An African proverb said "paddle your own canoe".

I'm glad that after checking my posts over and over again, I have not seen where I wished anyone misfortune. Anyway, it had been pointed out earlier that we all have different levels of understanding English language. It's apparent that many are frustrated and trying to transfer the aggression to someone else. As I said earlier, go get busy (if you are not)!

That did not make me to wish d recruitment be cancelled.

Eyaa . . .inner person expert . . . you definitely do not need advice, what you need is sympathy. I sympathize with you on your frustrating past. Congratulations on the 'almighty TCN job'!
If you can bring up a post where I wished the recruitment is cancelled, then you are a truthful person. I have always highlighted it as a possibility, just like it is possible that I may die before tomorrow. That doesn't mean I have wished myself death. I wonder who needs to grow up.

My present salary is in 6 figures and far better than wot TCN will pay me so I don't know wia ur 'Almighty TCN' blabb is coming from. Am not as jobless as u are, I only applied for TCN for 3 things, job security, training and career progress.

Don't think every fellow dat comment here is as jobless and hopeless as u r, take ur frustration elsewia and allow those luck has smilled at to discuss about d recruitment, ur frequent ill-wish and pessimistic views here are really annoying, just an advice.

Well a lot has been speculated, what we ve been getting is extension after extension for the Naptin training n possibly tcn resumption, people will continue to count on the fact that there was no official statement to the delay to discourage people(l no blame them). However Naptin can not have an effective training without Tcn, the question is on whose facilities are they going to train their students the bottom line is any problem with tcn affect naptin hence the delay and again they are under the same power ministry.
I want to believe TCN was working towards Naptin calender before and that was why the documentation was initially 7th Oct now Naptin might have to adjust her calender to accommodate Tcn trainee.
l dont want to believe Tcn will be paying up to 750k considering the number of trainee and the fact that they will use tcn facilities for their trainee( money shld not be the issue). These are my opinions subject to the house discuss while we wait for our own version of alert.

Well I spoke with one of the TCN officials today. I asked him how far and told him what we've been hearing as per rumours. All he said was did I not receive a msg dt I will be called at a later date? That I should just go and relax and that tcn is sorting things out with naptin and when things are sorted, we will b called. That was all he let on. Hope the call will be sooner than we expected o.

COME tomorrow, the Vice President and Chairman, National Council on Privatisation (NCP), Mohammed Namadi Sambo, will formally hand over the physical assets of all 14 PHCN successor-companies to their new owners, the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) said in a statement yesterday.
Signed by the Head of Public Communications, Mr. Joe Anichebe, the statement said the event would take place simultaneously at the headquarters of the successor-companies across the country, where Sambo would be represented by ministers and other top government functionaries.
However, it said the Sapele Generation Company (SGC) would not be involved in the exercise since the NCP has directed its legal committee to undertake a comprehensive legal review of its status following the preferred bidder’s failure to complete payment.
The affected companies are: Abuja Distribution Company (KANN Consortium Utility), Benin Distribution Company (Vigeo Power Consortium), Eko Distribution Company (West Power & Gas), Enugu Distribution Company (Interstate Electrics Ltd) and Ibadan Distribution Company (Integrated Energy Distribution & Marketing Ltd).
Others are Ikeja Distribution Company (NEDC/KEPCO Consortium), Jos Distribution Company (Aura Energy Limited), Kano Distribution Company (Sahelian Power SPV Ltd), Port Harcourt Distribution Company (4Power Consortium) and Yola Distribution Company (Integrated Energy Distribution & Marketing Ltd).
The generation companies are: Shiroro (North-South Power Company), Kainji (Mainstream Energy Solutions Ltd), Geregu (Amperion Power Distribution) and Ughelli (Transcorp Ughelli Power Plc).
Top government functionaries to represent the Vice President at the various handover venues are: the Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo (Abuja), Co-ordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (Ibadan), Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke (Enugu), Minister of Trade & Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga (Eko), Minister of Transport, Senator Idris A. Umar (Kainji/Jebba) and Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke (Yola).
The others are the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mohammed Musa Sada (Kano), Minister of Information, Labaran Maku (Jos), Minister of Labour, Chief Emeka Wogu (Ughelli) and Minister of State (Works), Bashir Yuguda (Shiroro).
The rest are the BPE Director General, Mr. Benjamin Ezra Dikki (Ikeja and Egbin), Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power, Dr. Godswill Igali (Port-Harcourt), Chairman, Presidential Taskforce on Power, Beks Dagogo-Jack (Benin) and Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mr. Andrew Yakubu (Geregu).
Dikki noted: “This handover is a culmination of 14 years of painstaking effort by the NCP, BPE and other key stakeholders to reform and liberalize Nigeria’s electricity industry, which began in 1999.”
The Electric Power Sector Reform Implementation Committee (EPIC) was set up in year 2000 with the key mandate to proffer an appropriate legal and regulatory framework for the sector. This gave birth to the National Electric Power Policy, which was approved by the Federal Executive Council in September 2001.
It was followed by the passage of the Electric Power Sector Reform Act of 2005. The passage of the Act gave the NCP/BPE the legal impetus to set up the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), also in 2005.
The NCP/BPE went further to vertically unbundle the integrated monopoly into three segments of Generation, Transmission and Distribution. As part of the reform initiative, the utility was transformed into Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) in compliance with Section 1 of EPSR Act of 2005, as prelude to the full unbundling of the utility into different successor companies
So far, from the 14 successor-companies scheduled for take over, a total of $2,525,824,534 was realized as proceeds. Of this amount, $1,256,000,000.00 came from the Distribution Companies (DISCOs) while the Generation Companies (GENCOs) raked in $1, 269,824,534.
The Federal Government has equally set aside the entire proceed of N384 billion from the transaction to settle labour liabilities.
Meanwhile, in its determination to resolve all labour issues before the handover, the BPE has dispatched a team of consultants and its staff for the biometric data capture of 1, 478 employees of the Enugu DISCO, who could not be audited because of virus attack on the system where their names were stored
