CCTV alone won't solve the problem. Even if CCTV captures imagines of terrorists, how do we identify them? We have no database whatsoever to run through.

In the US, they are going to run their images through different databases and may identify the individual with name and details.

These photos of "Culprits" and content of this thread is only online vigilante-style investigation currently underway on the internet (which is fine) provided they are only treated as leads and not conclusive 'evidence'.

DO NOT SPREAD RUMORS. Investigation is in progress, and authorities are yet to put out concrete statements on any leads, so everything contained in this thread = speculation.

I live here in Boston, and the events are sad, but it does not help the situation to go on Nairaland declaring 'culprits found' prematurely.

There is something really not adding up in this whole incident

1. No terrorist group has claimed responsibility yet.
2. There are silmutaneous threats going on all over at the same time.
3. Some of the early evidences sounds too simplistic. All terrorists know there are hundreds of cameras around. Especially during an event like this. There are even more cameras setup to monitor the event. So why will they carry out their activities in the glare of cameras? Doesnt sound right. The only persons that would do a thing like that without minding the cameras are suicide bombers, not persons who want to bomb and escape.
4. The terrorists are not fools. They know if they are caught on camera, the security agencies will come after them and paste their pictures everywhere. So why would they show their faces on camera?


It looks like a far deeper thing than what we sre seeing on the surface.

I did not say so or imply that in anyway. He said the guy looks muslim and I asked him how a muslim looks. I'm pretty much hinting at the fact that his comment was stereotypical. I merely used christian as an example to show that you cannot tell how a christian looks. It's not written on the face. "Arab" might have been a better word to use (even though I find the use of that quite problematic too) but then concluding that someone is muslim based on their physical characteristics is stereotypical and it is wrong.

"Department store". "Boston television station". Although the government installs CCTV cameras, it is also true that quite a few of the images that are circulated when things like this happen are gotten from private establishments.

Do you own a shop, an office, a commercial building? Do you have CCTV cameras in your building?

By the way, it has not been confirmed that these are the culprits. At the moment they are merely suspects.

Early 20s how? The television was only invented in 1925. And it was a massive tube!
CCTV was first used for a space launch in the 40s and CCTV as common place public infrasture for security was in the 70s/80s.
