How can someone become a christian? Through preaching or you are following your parents blindly,either of the two.Some people do convert to christianity because of the following reasons.
1)Poverty,it's only christians that you organize a crusade and promised its audience food and free transport.So someone that hasn't eat a good meal that day will just hurry there,leaving his religion.
2)Trial by Allah;When Allah test people with certain trials,they wouldn't have patience to bear it patiently,then christian crusaders will come telling him that Jesus had died for his sins,all his problems are solved,funny people.Only Allah solves problems.If you accepted Islam,nobody will tell you that you won't encounter problems again,Allah will surely test you to ascertain your faith.As Allah said in the glorious Quran in surah Al-ankabout 29;2-''Do people think that they will be left alone because they say;We believe,and will not be tested?''
The more trials you have,and how you bear them the more closer you come to Allah,and the more his favours and mercy He shall shower on you in this world and the hereafter.
