They are allied at the House of Representatives level. Senators are just marking time, I expect a lot of them to lose elections in 2015. A new breed of smarter and more dynamic leaders are emerging.

The logic is that to get elected you must first pass the primary election huddle which in all state are conducted by delegate pocketed by the governors as such, the national assembly members are always loyal to their governors more than the president in order to secure their interest.

And if all governor want an idea to scale through they meet at the level of the NGF and instruct their various NASS members to obey any rebel will hardly get their ticket back to the house. So that makes the NGF very strong .

Let's even assume that end game of these jostling is to control delegates for the 2015 primary by controlling the NGF. On the basis of Amechi's (supposed) victory how many PDP delegate can he control/influence looking the numbers and quality of people that voted for him? Is he banking on the opposition governors to deliver delegates for him in PDP convention?

This victory without home support is very phyrric at best. It does him more harm than good. I doubt if it will even serve him should he (as expected) decamps to the unregistered APC where tinubu and buhari hold sway.

What, again, I ask does it profit Ameachi to win the NGF election but lose party support? Something is clearly missing here.
