June 12 Anniversary VIDEO: A Tough Day In Lagos For Nigeria's Information Minister, Labaran Maku

Minister of Information, Labaran Maku failed to impress audience at 20th Anniversary of June 12 tagged 'Democracy Audit' held in Lagos, 2013.

The minister tried unsuccessfully to convince a critical audience that the administration of Pres. Goodluck Jonathan has taken the country forward, as other speakers in the forum exchange debunked his claims, these speakers include Kola Abiola, the first son of late  M. K.O Abiola, Lagos politician- Jimi Agbaje, former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, one time member of the house of representatives -Dino Melaye, one after the other analyzed the current socio-political and economic status of the regime relative to earlier administrations and concluded that things have gotten worse in Nigeria under President Jonathan.

Mr. Labaran Maku resorted to personal defense after discussants dismissed his theories with empirical evidence.

That seemed like a June 12 gathering. I think it's suicidal for a member of GEJ's government to go and address a crowd of June12 sympathizers. Who even invited hm?

Of course the level of immature disrespect towards the minister in the audience is nauseating at best, but the minister spoke the truth. More importantly he presented facts and numbers. He cited plants being built, their locations, the implications of their success, and compared them to past administrations.

EVERYONE else except Melaye just said 'corruption', and snickered. Stated obvious blanket statements and didn't present facts solutions or counter argument. One even had the nerve to comment on the athletic ability of his brain. This is why there's no opposition in Nigeria.

Its only in Nigeria where bogus claims can win over facts and figures. the minister was siting facts and figures which are verifiable. the chant of curruption from the rest speakers is almost making me believe curuption in nigeria just started. can Dino deny being currupt while in govt or even now? same goes to the other speakers who held political positions in the past.
