I once met someone who was so happy to have finished B.Sc Computer science, and just before NYSC, he had to go enroll in a computer school to take up a 3-months "Computer Appreciation" course. the ? is what did he do for 5-years in Uni?

With the 400k your friend is getting in an oil services company, he cant afford to send his kids to schools abroad for Univ education and have them live too-comfortably. With his new luck, they'll be entitled to whatever benefits are available for them. Nobody knows where they might end up in future, and he wont want to bite his finger then and say "had i known", More so, if they are still in sec schl(at least 1/2), twould be a good start, and by the time they are like 21/higher, their minds will be open, they'll get a good education which they would be proud of, and would thank him for later in life, they would be able to stand for themselves, the "default corrupt Nigerian attitude" will be almost gone, and they would value money that is hard-earned. What i would advise, is, like others have said, take a leave of absence, like some months, or even a study leave,,,,say he's going for a masters or phd in whatever in canada, anyway, since he has the Res.Perm, his company wont ask him too many questions. He could just say, hes going to study. Ok, before 1-year, he would have settled his folks down, and then he'll return to his job. kaput

within his leave period, if he can land himself a higher paying job, fine, but I know he wont want to loose the Nigerian connection as a man, but all the same, his kids need it.

Pharmacy, Canada is the place to be,   computer science USA is better,  Nurses is the only prof , and it pays well, It is not like Nigeria nurses, over here they are well off, most of them have degrees. you can also teach kid, I teach kid s, how to play soccer, hope to take canada to the Under 17 world cup, joking, but may happen,

Even when you go back to school here, you may not get a job,  So someone telling you go back to school, trust me, it makes no different,  except if you want to become a nurse.
