truthsayer009: Alright bro. I’ll be joining y’all soon. Waiting for 1-2months before getting a job is fair and ok....I understand no work is waiting for anyone but as far as one would eventually get a job. Bless! I’ll try my best to attend German classes, but if everything happens fast and I’m unable to learn German would I still see a job |

Victorex001: I think you need to calm down.. You're worrying too much and it's not going to help you sincerely, life is step by step play your own part. Learn the language for now don't wait for classes you can learn on your own with YouTube and other sources, the main thing is to start from somewhere when you do so jobs won't be an issue. I believe you will be alright. Cheers |

How about learning that German in Naija till B2 before you come cos e go help you well well on the long run also with the menial job side, school and finding a professional job later. The time you'll used learning German in Germany, you go use am work tire. Time is freaking precious here. Thegamingorca: |

styles2009: It's true that learning german in Nigeria helps but even that doesn't qualify as having learnt german. Its just like how you'll find it difficult to understand a Scottish or English native when dey speak so also you'll find it difficult keeping up with Germans. If you say you won't attend vhs or language courses in germany and focus on work. That integration you are planning will still be difficult. Nothing beats learning Deutsche from the native speakers of hochdeustsche 1 Like |

Thegamingorca: And who told you learning German in Nigeria doesn't qualify as having learned German! People are suggesting the cheapest, easiest and fastest way to integrate, you are here typing gibberish. I left Nigeria with a B1 certificate, and it sure helped. You understand what they say, and get to experience all the grammar you learned, how it is used. You only pick the accents from native speakers and not the grammar. Go and ask a native speaker to explain dativ and see how he will explain it. But ask a Nigerian who teaches and knows his onions in Goethe to do the same, he breaks it down for you to understand. 7 Likes |

willy2000: @styles2009 Pls take this douchebag's word for it. You should really be just fine in germany after a B2. P.S. I hope my lack of fingers on the thread doesn't give my comment a false perception of air-quotes |

Thegamingorca: Styles2009 na baba for Germany. As in, he lives in Germany . I think B1 is enough in my experience. You are able to communicate well after B1. |

Hello house, I'm glad I found this thread. My question, I'm applying for an M.sc program for this Summer application but in all honesty my choice course won't be available until Winter. But I was advised by someone living there, to proceed until reaching there register as a student but later apply for choice course. With aim to have proper time to work, settle in, adjust, catch up on language before my proper Winter program starts. I'm asking to know if it's possible to change course of study upon reaching DE? I don't want to get there and be stuck with this Summer course cos I just want to use it as a getaway. N.B: Chances of getting admission for my Winter course is high cos I intend applying for 2-3 schools. Secondly, someone told me to forget my relationship especially without marriage in place Like seriously, can this be true? Anyone going to Germany with a fiancee in Nigeria should forget about it happening? Please you little bits in clearing these doubts would go a long way. **N.B fiancee is a good stylist (tailoring) which I believe is possibly lucrative over there. Any reliable answer would be appreciated. Thanks guys. |

Thegamingorca: First, it"s call Deutsch not Deutsche; Deutsche is another thing entirely. What is integration to your understanding? If you don't have a strong grasp of german Grammatik and come here to try and integrate with natives, my guy you go fail cos your german sentences would be full of errors. I stand by what, I said earlier, I have been there, done it and it's working, Go to Goethe, learn up to B2, don't hurry Germany journey, plan,be prepared, learn a handyman job before you come, your B2 basic structure would help you quickly understand german within a yr or 2 cos i used a different strategy learning. As for the Handyman job, that's a steady side income, I paint, fix cupboard, give PC tutorials in German among other things. Cheers! 10 Likes 1 Share |

You didnt see the crux of my point, where I said learning it in germany far beats learning german in Nigeria. You are highlighting my spelling of Deutsche. Let me also now be petty and highlight something off about your first sentence styles2009:seems you've become a little rusty. That's better! I'll now repeat that You should be just fine after getting a B2 certificate from Goethe Lagos. But ild advice you enrol in your local vfs or even a Goethe school closest to you in Deutschland. Cos it's a General opinion that the native learning outshines what you learn back home and that fact can not be overstated. Surprisingly, even the Indians agree

Thegamingorca: Let me be rusty a bit as I'm less busy. This is what you get quoting source from Wikipedia, hope you don't do this when schooling here. Stop this advising, I'm done learning German years back probably before you probably heard about tuition free German Universities. You want to win arguments online, if you like no learn German for Goethe before you come and think you'll swallow a magic pill, when your learn it in Germany, where's the time? the resources? The time you'll used for summer language school here are precious hours to work full time. #don'tdull 6 Likes |

Thegamingorca: I was actually being lowkey shady because you really don't seem to realize what awaits you. Those already here are giving you legit tips based on their experiences, but here you are - someone who has never been to Germany ridiculing them all. You're painting and expecting a bubble world that doesn't exist and I hope when disappointment hits you, you'll know how to cope. As for your ego, don't worry Germany has a way of dealing with that. Back to your question, I'm fine thank you.... 11 Likes |
