Hypocrisy on all sides. The western nations have no right to force their views on other nations, however, our leaders are still hypocrites. Our useless senate made up of paedophiles just passed a law legalizing underaged marriage and you are complaining about gay rights. Which is more dangerous. Two consenting adults are being banned from showing love however they seem fit but it is ok for a 55 year old man to take a 10 year old girl as a bride.

I am not gay neither would I encourage anyone to be gay. I also would not support western nations forcing their views on us. But what I am more worried about is that 10 year old girls can be married off to Senators like Yerima. I am more worried about the fact that elected officials have immunity and can do whatsoever they like while in office without being prosecuted. I am worried that a Nigeria Senator earns about 4 times what Barrack Obama earns. I am more worried about the state of security in the country as a whole and the high level of unemployment. I am worried about corruption at every level. I am worried for my country but my worry is not about gay rights.

Thanks for the brilliantly driven unpopular point of yours about our culture. The issue with people like you stem from the fastidious position you accord western way of life. You really don't see democracy as movement with religious and cultural movement of its own. You may fail to understand that you are one of its followers or apologists, in any case. Come to terms brother, a society fail to recognise some people rights in POLYGAMY but champion rights for the GAY. What do you say about this?

Capnd143: Gay ke? U mean we should encourage our youths to forget those curvy ass chicks around and pursue their fellow man? If nigeria has never stood it ground, it surely will stand during this gay saga! F.vck obama, f.vck cameron, f.vck gay and LGBT rights. Africans are not and will never be socially ready to accept gay rights.

Even if gay rights bill is passed. We will always have red-blooded Straight Nigerian Males. The problem is something that hitherto was done in the basement will be brought out to our parks, our beaches, clubs etc

That is a sickening prospect if you ask me.

joxiri: There is a big difference between gay rights and same sex marriage, what the international community is advocating for is gay rights, the abolition of prosecution for gay people, gay marriage is a veery long way off and will never happen in nigeria, there is a fundamental difference in the interest of fairness, freedom of association in a democratic society there is a very strong case for equality of gay in any democratic society and that's what the international community are advocating for
..NO WAY! Abolishn d prosecutn of gay pple, is a step 2ward legalising gay(gays)unions. So, NO! NO!! NO!!! 2 gay rights/union!

Yes, ours is a Godly nation and that undisputable! Every nation has it,s challenges which it one time fought and won. So, our current travail should not be a justification for alianating or saying we are not a Godly nation. I believe in the greatness of Nigeria which will come at the appropriate time, but this issue of gay is non negotiable. We say no to it and are ready to live by that resolve. Godbless Nigeria!

This is what happens why man has abandoned and forgot the ways of Almighty God.We have now stood so low committing that which the animal kingdoms do not committ.May be many have forgot about the destruction of the people of Lut(A.S) Sodom and Gomorrah, the Qur'an and the Bible speaks about it. Their greatest sin is Sodomy and they were destroyed, this is what those who support it want for the entire world so that when the punishment come,it will leave nobody untouched.IMAGINE! @Omonnakoda what are U trying to hit at?that it it is not there culture or what? Who was the first to legalised it? U said America has contributed to the society by bring Internet.Who are those in the fore front using that same internet to promote pornography and all sorts of Immorallity? I dont know which faith u belong to but I tink u need to revive your Faith Again.

What exactly is wrong with what he said? I said this on a different thread & let me reiterate here. Jesus Christ was not conceived via s3xual intercourse, never got married, was surrounded by 12 male friends, wore flowing garments with no underwear. Speaks volumes!

Alot of folks on here keep talking about the west should legalize polygamy. Polygamy was abolished as a way to protect women's right. African men married these young women and solely used them as breeders without considering anything else. These woman were never taken care of by these men. All the men cared about was how many male children he could get from the woman and as soon as she got older or couldn't "make" him anymore sons, he resorts to marrying another teenager. It's insane and troubling to see anyone in this modern world even consider polygamy.
My grandfather was married to 8 women and I tell you, it wasn't pretty. I would never consent to any of my sisters getting married to a man that's still legally married and I bet most of you on here wouldn't either.

So lets just stick to the point which is Gay rights in Nigeria!!!

Many do see America as the most developed and Advanced country and all that.Do you know that America has more internal, moral and spiritual problems?Even before legalising this gay or same sex of thing they have the problem of INCEST.According to their OWN TELEVANGELIST JIMMY SWAGGART he wrote a book and named it ''INCEST a dark Stain on AMERICA's SOCIETY''in his book he said it has reached an Epidemic proportion amongst their society. If a man marries morethan one wife,he is put behind bars but when a man on an average has 8 eight sexual partners there is notin wrong with that. They have 7.8 women morethan men.what the solution?legalising gay.IMAGINE!! For those who legalise and support, the curse and wrath of Almighty GOD is upon U and when death comes U will truely know. @Omonnakoda U said gay coupLes HAVE CHILDREN.ADOPTION OR PREGNANCY?
