I just hope average Nigerians get his message.

Most time the questions are preprepared by the crew so presenters have little input. If the reporter, Ajuri, knew his onions he would have added some cogent questions, but he just sat there sounding like a broken record.

If only someone could bring him back to NL so he could receive some lectures. Experience indeed is the best teacher. The knowledge I have garnered on these threads, some classroom can't give me that.

Who is Uju The TVC guy?

Brenda UJU is a war Journalist. I think she's with tvc, she's really experienced.

My advice and opinion is that the interview is just to calm the average Nigeria. The money might not even end up on any purchasing any gun. That journalist knows nothing about the military. He looks like an accountant. Imagine someone like UJU interviewing this man.
saw the video, I think he was trying to drive home a point of modernisation using a bad example.

SupremeCourt:

The Algerian1 guy here proved you very wrong with his T-90 official facts, but you still repeat your nonsense yarn like a robot. Read up T-90MS details on Janes defence, and tell us why you never advise South Africa to buy T-72 for your own country's defence.

Have you bothered to look in to the history of the T90. It is a T72 with features from a T80. The Shtora is not exclusive to the T90 it used on T80 and the T84 plus the BMP3 and not all countries use the Shtora.

So you all jumping on the T90 because of the Shtora which is silly. Remove the Shtora and it is a upgraded T72.

You can say that Again. Its really sad though. People who are essentially the same are at loggerheads and the only things really separating them are foreign languages which were handed to them relatively recently.

I disagree Sir.....The Army is already recieving modern AK's (Beryl M762) ...so what he is saying doesnt hold water....It's cheaper to arm the Army with the Beryl than the Tavor...Tavor for now should be exclusive for SPECOPS....not regular infantry...They already train with the AK so switching to the Beryl would be seamless

jteku:

No country arms its military with one rifle, you don't expect a soldier posted to a generals house to be armed with a Tavor, those in battle field/peace keeping/special ops etc, are those that should be armed with such weapon and I guess thats what he's referring to.

Beautiful film, I watched it in the cinema the first time and was blown away. Really shows the lengths to which a nation's special forces may have to go to win

Made or watching those that are already made Cos I have always have this recurring idea of writing a story about Nigerian military's exploit in the NE, that could further be adapted into a movie.

Points well taken these are my three kobo
Understand we are in a war situation and also the enemy watches T.V.
1) Nigerian journalists including this presenter are notoriously lazy ( nice word) err incompetent when it comes to defence issues that was also reflected in this interview whereby instead of concentrating the interview on specific questions concerning procurement he was more concerned about corruption.
2) The General in question not taking sides has fought ( combat service) that is why he bought the obvious weapons of choice known to the enemy to the T.V. station
3) The General in vague terms mentioned five obvious specific things a) MRAPS b) IFVS c) IED detection equipment d) flat bottom boats and e) Drones..
Specifically he did not mention any advanced technological equipment but he alluded to it.

He also withheld the Tavor automatic and refuse to call the name saying its a personal weapon...as if people cannot google it and get the name.
