Good capacity
Would NN finally forget their LPD dreams if this surpasses expectations?

Please dont believe everything this DICON guys tell, ya?

Proforce ARA II has Stanag 4A and 4B which marks already the highest class of mine protection but the half baked EZUGWU even exceeds this.
Have you watched the video I posted?

Did you watch the test?

The DG of DICON did not mention it's IED strength in the video.

One of the consultants who built the vehicle mentioned it in a different interview.

Please Sir, watch the video, read up on materials, educate yourself, don't embarrass yourself in public.

Absolute beauty of a ship

I have to confess i instant got a crush on her when is saw her. Once again the NN made a reasonable procurement decision.

It's a reasonable procurement. Totally makes sense.

If we can add 2 Frigates and 2 Corvettes it would be nice.

The AW-139 would operate from her deck.

We need to ramp up the number of locally built ships, we need 4 units of 55 meters ships. Ships that can patrol offshore and close to the creeks.

Time to make the Ezugwu amphibious.

What the NN should do is refit NNS Aradu, yes it will cost $250 mil but show me where you can get 8 Anti ship missiles, 24 Sam launchers, 127mm oto merela, 8 40mm bofors and 6 torpedo tubes for that money.

NNS Aradu is a formidable ship, hence its so sad to see her in the state she is.

That would not work.

Nigeria should look out for Frigates from China or Netherlands.

At a time when a substantial part of Nigeria's resources come from offshore sources, the Nigerian Navy needs $1.3 billion to acquire new hardware to secure its territorial waters, according to Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, who is seeking the acquisition of at least five new ships.

Addressing a public hearing organised by the House of Representatives Committee on Maritime Safety and Administration, Ibas said the required long term acquisitions include a general-purpose frigate valued at $350 million, a long-endurance Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) valued at $120 million, a medium-endurance OPV estimated at $60 million, a landing platform dock (LPD) ship worth $350 million and a landing ship-tank valued $90 million.

Other required assets include a submarine worth $300 million, a Seaward Defence Boat (SDB) worth $10 million and a specialised naval security helicopter at an estimated cost of $25 million.(That's part of the plan.A 1.3billion dollar program)

It was built in 1982 not 1882.......

Russia are still operating the Kirov class which was built in the mid 70s

The US is still operating the Ticonderoga class which was built in 1980

The Royal Navy is still operating the Duke class which was commissioned in the mid 80s

NNS Aradu still has at least 25 years in her with a good refit.

Subs? Corvettes? LPDs? Bro sorry to burst your bubble but your not buying all that for 1.3 billion.... 3 subs alone will cost almost 1.3 billion.

In other words:

1Sub
1 frigate
1LST
1LPD
1 OPV long range
1 OPV short range
