Nigerian navy patrol boats. There are 3,014 creeks in the Niger-Delta, covering an area the equal to the size of Scotland. This means the Nigerian navy has to invest a lot in the acquisition of Inshore Patrol Boats. In the past 12 months, the Nigerian navy has placed an order for over 270 boats, only 10% of these boats are acquired from abroad. 90% of all contacts are given to local vessel manufacturers. Here are additional photos of the 25 boats the Navy recently inducted into service. 1 Like

Henry240:There are quite a few whites in the Air Force and Navy already(mostly NCO's) But there is currently no Quota system in place..The other day at Okahandja Military School I saw about 30 young whites(Male and female)standing in a formation of about 200 Cadets...How many of them will actually complete basic training,I have no idea But I think it's a good sign.So expect pictures of White soldiers in the Tiger Flash soon 1 Like |

The boats are 11 meters long and are made from carbon fiber, they can carry 8 armed sailors, including the two gunners and driver. Powered by 2 powerful yamaha engines they are protected by multiple layers of glass which provide adequate protection against 7.62mm.

Seems like a waste of $4.2 million, when you realise Nigerian companies build better interceptors.

DEFENCE HQ UK PLEDGES GREATER SUPPORT TO NIGERIAN ARMED FORCES The United Kingdom has restated her commitment to assist Nigeria in her quest to totally eradicate the threat posed by the Boko Haram Terrorists in the North East of Nigeria as well as partnering with relevant agencies to rehabilitate the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) who were victims of terrorists attack. This was jointly stated by the Director General for the British Foreign and Commonwealth Defence Intelligence, Ms Sarah Macintosh and Rear Admiral Simon Ancona, the British Assistant Chief of Defence Staff in Defence Engagement when they led a 5 man delegation to the Defence Headquarters Abuja. In her opening remark, Ms Macintosh applauded the commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces in decimating the dreaded Boko Haram Terrorists and seek for closer military ties in the area of security for the IDPs and cooperation to provide complementary support to the Nigerian Government relief efforts to ameliorate the humanitarian challenges in the various IDPs camps across the country. Similarly, Rear Admiral Ancona expressed the British desire to assist the regional Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in the military campaign against Boko Haram and contribute to the establishment of a Multi National Joint Task Force coordination centre. He further stated that the British Government had concluded plans to send some specialists to assist in tackling the humanitarian crisis occasioned by the insurgency in the North East of Nigeria. The British delegation also acknowledged the tremendous efforts of the military in not only winning the war against insurgents but also “winning the peace” in the country. In his response, the Chief of Defence Staff, (CDS) General Gabriel Abayomi Olonisakin thanked the UK delegation for the visit and solicited for a more fruitful cooperation with the British government. He also briefed the delegation on the ongoing efforts by the military to de-radicalise the youths in the North East who were hitherto susceptible to the radical Islamic group, Boko Haram. The CDS, who was represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Defence Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal BC Saidu, also explained the transitional arrangements to resettle the IDPs and noted that the greatest military challenge hampering the fight against the Boko Haram Terrorist is that of inadequate equipments and lack of cooperation from some arms vendors. Others in the entourage of the British Director General for Foreign and Commonwealth Defence were the British Defence Attache to Nigeria and two senior diplomats from the UK embassy, while some principal Staff Officers from the Defence Headquarters were at hand to receive them. Highlights of the visitation included a group photograph and exchange of souvenirs.

It's enough to make one want to puke.... Now that they know that Nigeria has almost cleared up boko haram deep inside Sambisa forest, the west is falling over each other to give assistance to the Nigerian military. At this late hour The same military they were abusing and insulting just a few months back. 1st the Americans with their A29 planes and "training" on marching in straight lines.. Now the British with their equipping the MNJTF coordination center- so they can put bugs there....Meanwhile they are still blocking arms vendors from selling military equipment to Nigeria Next week Francois Holland and his french group will arrive with their "promises" to sell weapons At the end of the boko haram war, they will beat their chest about how they stood side by side with Nigeria in it's war against terror and how they supplied weapons, equipment and intelligence.. Thunder fire their MAMA there. Nonsense and ingredients. rugged7: 1 Like |

It's people like you, who after the war is done and dusted; will swear with your inflamed testicles how Nigeria would never have been able to defeat boko haram without "western" help. Well, we are making it CRYSTAL CLEAR, that the west up til now, has still done NOTHING. Everything done to defeat these animals has been through the blood, sweat and Ingenuity of the Nigerian armed forces. Meanwhile, i warned you before not to comment on anything i say. I know you always use 95% of your brain cells in writing crap. Well, i don't want to see your crap patches689: 3 Likes 1 Share |

Odunayaw: Na money nw!!!! As soon as they can make enough sales of LAVs, MRAPs and Boats, they would be able to continue financing the project. If our Police can order at-least 50 units of Proforce LAVs, they should be able to have the funds need to finance the IFV project. |
