I never understand why they do this. Luckily for us in Nigeria, the Air Force, Army, Police and DHQ have independent photo-journalists who provide "actual photos" thereafter. Only the Navy lags behind.

Yaay!!! Germany and France hint at lifting travel advisories to the tourist resort city of lamu

The kidnapping of two british tourists from lamu in 2011 which was preceeded by kidnapping of a french aid worker at the dadaab refugee camp which mostly home to somalis fleeing decades of war, was the breaking point that led to kenya having to send troops to somalia after years of not wanting to get its hands dirty by using proxies to keep alshabaab away.. sending boots on the ground was against the advice of both US and UK but thats a story for another day..... http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/mobile/article/2000125658/how-kidnap-of-british-couple-in-lamu-triggered-kdf-invasion-of-somalia

So you can see the symbolism if travel advisories were to be lifted from a tourists town just a few hundred meters from somali on the beach side

-----
Germany Envoy To Kenya Jutta Frasch Has Praised Kenya’s Security Efforts Saying The Country Is Now Safe.
The envoy while visiting Kenya’s old tourist attraction, Fort Jesus Museum said the country is safe and foreign tourists visiting should not worry about insecurity while visiting the Kenya’s old town.
Frasch said her government has been engaged by Kenya in a number of bilateral agreements including police training and advisory.
The Germany envoy took time to salute the Kenyan government and all the security agents for their ultimate resolve to fight terrorism.
He noted several gains already made with quite a number of extremist returnees having been helped to start their lives afresh after denouncing the Somali-based terrorist group, Al-Shabaab.
Corresponding sentiments have been echoed by France deputy envoy to Kenya Kim Ramoneda saying Kenya is now safer.
Ramoneda noted that Kenya’s security has drastically improved saying they are working on lifting travel ban on Lamu.
In May 2014, France, UK, Australia and the U.S. had issued non-essential travel advisories to some parts of Kenya following terror attacks by Al-Shabaab.
Ramoneda said that France is working to lift the travel advisory for Lamu saying security had taken a U-turn and hoping it will get better.
She also stressed on the need for Kenya to partner with other developed nations in solving security problems noting that France has trained over 700 Kenyan soldiers in the last two years already deployed in Somalia to battle Al-Shabaab.http://intelligencebriefs.com/germany-france-envoys-praise-kenyas-security-efforts/

off topic:it seems the water off yemen have become hostile, two US navy ships were targeted .forcing one of them to use its Standard Missile-2 (SM-2),a single Enhanced Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) and deploy its Nulka anti-ship missile decoy.they US has said its going to hunt those responsible.this is the reason i have being saying we need land based anti-ship missiles

Two missiles fired from rebel-held territory in Yemen landed near an American destroyer in the Red Sea, the U.S. Navy said Monday, the second such launch targeting ships in the crucial international waterway in recent days.

The missile launches Sunday came as a ballistic missile fired from Yemen apparently targeted a Saudi air base near the Muslim holy city of Mecca, the deepest strike yet into the kingdom by Shiite rebels and their allies. The rebels fired another two missiles into the Saudi Jizan region along the border on Monday, wounding two foreigners who worked there, the local civil defense said in a statement.

Yemen's Shiite rebels, known as Houthis, and their allies offered no reason for the launches, though they came after a Saudi-led airstrike targeting a funeral in Yemen's capital killed over 140 people and wounded 525 on Saturday.

In a statement, the Navy said no American sailors were wounded and no damage was caused to the USS Mason, an Arleigh Burke class of guided missile destroyer whose home port is Norfolk, Virginia. Lt. Ian McConnaughey, a spokesman for U.S. Navy Forces Central Command, said that it's unclear if the USS Mason was specifically targeted, though the missiles were fired in its direction over an hour's time, starting at around 7 p.m.

An American defense official said the USS Mason used onboard defensive measures after the first missile was fired, but it wasn't clear if that caused the missile to splash harmlessly into the sea. The destroyer was north of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which serves as a gateway for oil tankers headed to Europe through the Suez Canal, the official said.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details of the incident that haven't been made public.

The Houthi-controlled SABA news agency of Yemen quoted an anonymous army official denying its forces fired on the USS Mason, without elaborating.

Last week, an Emirati-leased Swift boat came under rocket fire near the same area and sustained serious damage. The United Arab Emirates described the vessel as carrying humanitarian aid and having a crew of civilians, while the Houthis called the boat a warship.

U.S. Navy officials declined to immediately discuss what kind of rockets were used in the USS Mason incident.

Analysts with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy suggested in a report that the Houthis may have targeted the Emirati ship with an Iranian anti-shipping cruise missile, based on purported video of the attack.

Shiite power Iran supports the Houthis, but denies arming them. Any Iranian involvement could exacerbate tensions with the U.S. following a series of tense naval encounters in the Persian Gulf in recent months.

The Algerian SU-30MKA is just behind. Although the MKA is still very advanced, same level as the SU-30mki, however i'll go for the Rafale.

The MKA uses French/Russian avionics, same as the Rafale(French). In the scheme of things in terms of avionics they should be quite close. Other factors would come into play. I'll say Rafale before MKA.

None that i know of. I only know they had a "near miss" when their base was attacked by insurgents earlier in the year in Timbucktu. Luckily all police officers had gone on patrol, and only two Malians guards were at the base at the time of the attack.
