The request for the change of election day from Saturday to any other day not including other worship days should be considered. Lets look at the point of their argument first before we crucify them. Saturday is their day of worship and according to the scripture Exd 20:8-Remember the Sabbath keep it holy,... which means there should be no work on that day including casting of votes, there by denying them their civic right in participating in choosing their leaders.FG should really look into such issues in our electoral acts. where nothing is done about it then the Bible also says that 'we aught to obey God rather than man' This is my opinion oooooo.

You have your right to vote. Do the Adventists now want to serve two masters? Voting is an option and not a must...the church should focus on what it supposed to be doing and stop meddling with politics.

Even Jesus obeyed civil authorities, he never evaded tax, he also said we should obey constituted authorities as they are ordained by God, that's why voting is a civil responsibility enshrined in the constitution and do you know you can be jailed for not voting. therefore Christians (including Adventists) should actively be involved in electing their leaders, cus when the righteous is on the throne the people rejoice. However, where this civil responsibility clashes with the authority of God, therefore "we will obey God rather than man", that's what the bible says.

That is a great move by the Seventh Day Adventist Church and it is my prayer that God will touch the heart of the people in government to change things for better.we should not be doing things contrary to the will of God on the sabbath.Isaiah 58:13-14!

It is always better to obey God rather than man. The word of God is sacrosanct. We have never voted in elections fixed for Saturdays. It is better the FG gives this appeal the attention and consideration it deserves. This will enable Millions of Adventist in Nigeria participate in elections.

In recent times we've always had restriction of movement on election day. This could make it impossible for some people to go to work, church or mosque on that day.

Nigerians are relearning civil processes - with the ballot snatching,thuggery et al, it's no surprise there are restrictions. Perhaps we will get there soon.

FG should create another day after Friday before Saturday called FREEDAY. Elections will be held on FREEDAYS. Problem solved! QED!!
