cool4ny: Naijaaaaaaa. are we that dump? 9.9million for one bus? that around £37,000 per bus. God!!!!!!! and some people think this is a good and welcome development. Please stop celebrating corruption.
Mumu, have you seen the innoson big buses before? Or you think it is 18 Seater L300 onu azu that the F.G is buying?

Kairoseki77:

You are missing the point.

The reason these busses are being purchased is to ferry civil servants from their homes to work. Now, if it is such a terrible inconvenience for the civil servants to not have access to commercial bus, what does that mean for the other million people that live in Abuja?

They are forced to suffer the inconvenience, but with NO free air conditioned Innonson bus to ferry them.

What kind of bad policy is this? When Fashola banned okadas, he did not buy personal motorcycles and drivers to drive LASG officials to work.

Civil servants need to know how the common man lives, or else they are USELESS. How can civil servants promote, enforce, and draft laws that they themselves refuse to follow. This is ridiculous. *spits*

God bless u my broda!! This Sincere 9gerian guy is extremely annoying n myopic!!!

anybody calling Goodluck Jonathan's administration clueless is a first class fool. nigerians will only realize what they have now when they lose it and fall into the hands of irresponsible looters.

now, let's be objective. Without taking sides sentimentally. This is quite good, local... But who benefit? Who mustn't benefit. What will those banned be doing? Relocating- whatever? Getting jobs- where? Dying- whatever?
And those who are not civil servant...keep trekking or stay confined?
It is good being transparent, being encouraging to local products, being civil-servant minded; but let's encourage him, to consider the majority more...

$1billion. Meanwhile, I heard what you guys receive from Tinubu is minimum wage (N20,000 every month). That is pathetic to say the least. That might explain the low morale and abysmal performance of Tinubu rats on this forum.

Could this be an admission that your posts on this forum have not been borne out of a good conscience and an objective mind?

Good to know your soul actually has a price. . . cool #CheapSkate

Please free the guy, in his hometown brand new18- seater buses can be bought for peanuts, not to talk of 33-seater.

Pattey:

As at the time of quoting this post, where are the 36 F.O.O.L.S that gave INSINCERE NIGERIAN 36 likes for this post? They must all be feeling filthy for this. . .

While I'm very glad about FGs decision to patronize a local 'assembly' operator, we should have no delusions of transparency as this fellow has listed up there (in the quote). Will this be the 1st time any government is making direct purchase or what's this new found faith all about?

Wait a minute, what will you people do if they come out to announce they paid more than 'the prices those buses are known to cost'? What will the average Nigerian do? Come on NL, make noise, and that is all that will happen!!!!

Now to the main grudge, FG banned public buses in the whole of Abuja (if this post is accurate) and the next thing is to start applauding this bus scheme? When not on transit to work, how will these civil servants move around (to other places), let alone those who are not in govt employ?

Is this the best GEJ and his cabinet can offer to ameliorate the plight of Nigerians living in FCT?
Biko, what hv you said now?? As in, what were you reali trying to say?

Sincere 9gerian: This is TRANSPARENCY at its best. Everything has been laid bare- unit price, total cost, VAT, name of supplier/manufacturer. Its more like an individual going to Innoson to purchase vehicles with his own money. This is a deadly blow to corruption. Even more impressive is the fact that this is consistent with the FG policy of patronizing locally manufactured products. What more could a people ask of their govt? I can only say kudos to the FG and hope they continue on this path. I also hope state govts can replicate same in their respective states.
Why wouldn't they release this one when there's not enough money to steal in the deal? Why is it that up till today, no one knows exactly how many barrels of crude oil we produce? When they start displaying same transparency in the petroleum sector, then I will accept that they are not hypocrites and are ready to fight corruption

The govt shouldn't stop there. They should mandate that a certain percentage of all govt vehicles should be purchased from Innoson, say 30% to start with. Let them supply the govt buses, SUV's, and salons. This is how industries are built. Kudos

Dump? grin Well stop being a dumb, we are not celebrating corruption, we are actually celebrating our own (a Nigerian with a Plant manufacturing and assembling first class automobiles in Nigeria). Soon, other African countries will turn Nigeria into their shopping Mecca!

Any African country that is dumb enough to pay £37000 for one bus is welcome to it. Only countries who are in the same league with Nigeria on the corruption table will buy it at that price. You said "we are celebrating our own(corruption)" shame!!

You f/ucki imbe-cile......who give a crap if it is 400seater, the contract is overpriced and this unfortunately defeat the good move by the FG.

Sincere 9gerian:
Exactly. The implication of buying local is enormous. For instance, the more Innoson is patronized, the more the company builds capacity (which leads to progressive improvement in quality), expands and employ more Nigerians. If Innoson becomes successful, more Nigerians will look in the direction of his line of business and establish similar vehicle manufacturing plant. That is more jobs for the unemployed. Over time, locally made vehicles will dominate the market and Nigeria will be saved huge foreign exchange.
true talk. Thats how taiwan started and malaysia. Now we cannot even afford their products

Dont you get it, her Yoruba husband bedmate is also a very dangerous hater on this forum. She must justify her work otherwise her allowance will be reduced, since I head o-gbawe is threatening to increase his cut to N4k (leaving them with just N16k) if they dont increase their e-hate.
