. . . but really, the motive of some of these trips is to take pictures to entertain Nigerians for political reasons, nothing more. They themselves know that nothing will come out of it. APC governors like such showmanship and drama a lot.

By the way, why is there no story to support these pictures? What did he go there to do? How do we know his mission there?

Can you imagine the mentality of these APC e - rats? Nobody cared to know what took Fashola there. There is no write-up to backup the pictures and they jump up celeberating Pictures. Pictures!! Mere pictures!! Are some people normal in this country?

I can't help but be amused at some comments by the pro GEJ guys in this thread. It is not out of place for Fashola to take pictures with the Microsoft executives because he is a Diplomat and protocols demands that he shows courtesy by taking pictures. Microsoft is a major player in the technological sphere, and as part of their corporate social responsibilities, they need to give back to the less privileged, which in this case Africa easily comes to mind. By taking pictures is a form of documentary evidence for the archives of the corporation. I'm quite taken aback by the pessimistic tendencies of some pro GEJ pundits who would rather celebrate the bletcherous policies of the aeoliststs in power than commend the efforts of a governor that has the goodwill of the people behind him.

Based on their lust for pandering to their gluttonous appetite, they would rather make gambrinous statements and castigate a governor who has chosen to be proactive in the face of dissenting voices, at a time when looting the national treasury seems to be a thing of pride among the other governors.

Bros, stop the big grammar first.

Tell me one thing, just one thing in this thread that makes you join in the celeberation.

For me, like everybody, I opened the thread, saw beautiful pictures, scrolled down a bit to read up the story behind those pictures but found nothing. I scrolled down further to view people's comments only to see loads and loads of celebrations for Fashola. What for? Is it because he is handsome in those pictures or that he was shaking hands with some white people or that he entered Microsoft office? Is that not foolishness?

The Governor, who was in the US with the State Microsoft team said that the agreement is an e- governance platform to deliver service to the citizens of Lagos.

The agreement is centered on four cardinal programs which are: Implementation of a citizen relationship management platform leveraging on the existing call center infrastructure, provision of IT infrastructure to support Lagos state health insurance initiative, IT skill development and Affordable mobile devices and being a premier partner under the Microsoft4 Africa initiatives which is centered on entrepreneur support
Fashola also said that as part of the agreement, the State has secured the commitment of Microsoft to help train 100 Microsoft certified applications support personnel who will not only support the Lagos State Government but other states in Nigeria to implement Microsoft application and the private sector for both Nigeria and the rest of Africa

According to the Governor, the e-governance will focus on a platform of delivering services to the citizens of Lagos State using smart phones and mobile devices while enabling him to be able to monitor the performance of each Ministry, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the discharge of services and to monitor all ongoing projects especially those around the Medium term budgetary objectives of PATH (Power, Agriculture, Transportation and Housing).

It will also be used to answer queries from citizens regarding the State services, initiate transactions and eventually to completely offer government services via on-line; constitutes another mode of communication without traveling to the Secretariat. The expected kick off date of this initiative is April, 2014.

Fashola said the health solutions will focus on delivering cloud based solutions that will assist pregnant mothers and patients at the 57 Primary care facilities which are being upgraded under the health care initiative of the State.

The cloud Serve will also include a Private Cloud for Lagos State based on Microsoft Technology. This cloud technology will support Lagos State disaster recovery strategy, enhance the existing e-Health platform, integrate existing silos of databases that houses important information such as Health, Education and Budgetary data.

The Governor team which consist of the Commissioner For Science and Technology, Mr. Biyi Mabadeje, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Nike Animashaun and the DG. Financial Management Bureau Mr. Ahmed Mustapha expressed the readiness of the state to deliver on the commitments agreed to under the terms of the memorandum as the availability of IT solutions especially in service deliver further enhances the dividends of democracy to the citizen thus deepening their resolve to embrace it as the best form of government after years of military rule.

He reiterated that ICT is a platform that any serious government committed to service delivery has to embrace and having a worthwhile partner in Microsoft to work with, will help Lagos state to meet this challenges.

Meanwhile, The Microsoft GM worldwide Jeff Fraizer who signs on behalf of Microsoft expresses the readiness of Microsoft to help finance the implementation of a health IT support infrastructure for the state existing community health insurance program which can then be leveraged to support the expected rollout of the state social health insurance program.

This is a great step in the right direction, we need technology to propel every aspects of our lives into the 21 century.

Ikengawo: I'm suspicious of anyone that is paid to do a job and takes pictures of themselves doing it everyday. Does Fashola think he's a volunteer or Samaritan? Are Nigerians so disillusioned that we have began celebrating governors for taking pictures of themselves governing? How many classroom teachers take pictures of themselves grading tests and how silly would this be?

This sums up our so-called leaders.

With health applications and cloud based solutions..

They floated this idea last year so it's really amazing to see them follow it up aggressively all the way to the US.

Let's say a patient was seen by a doctor at any state hospital in Ikorodu and for whatever reason she shows up at another state hospital in Gbagada, her health info is just a few computer clicks away in front of the doctor in Gbagada detailing who saw her in Ikorodu, what the problem was, what test was performed, what medication was prescribed and so on, even billing is generated automatically and fully itemized.. This makes it easy for health practitioners to diagnose and treat patients effectively and apart from that, it saves time, it saves money and prevent duplications of tests and diagnostics and this ties in with other applications like the stat health insurance scheme and ID.

One thing I love about these Alahusa guys is the fact that they are always on the job, they are always on the move from on great move to the next... They are covering a lot of ground and these are the kind of leaders we hope and pray for.

I'd like to join Ibos in celebrating too. Kudos to GEJ

And your best man is the dullard who not only didn't build one single classroom as a governor like Fashola. A dullard who remains the most corrupt, incompetent and thoughtless preisdent in the history of Nigeria.

We know with your flat heads, this is not about this Topic, it's the same hate, bitterness, anger and tribalism.

Unfortunately for you losers, your villages are decades behind Lagos state and shall remain so with the clowns you call governors..
