take dat: Why not credit your misfortune in life to the SW, you miserable pig? Is Mr Edwards, the whistle blower from the SW? Is it only those from the SW who are dismayed and angry at the squander-maniacs in positions of authority?
tell us why you folks from south west particularly insist on dragging Stella oduah into this arranged mess other than Fola DG of NCAA who is solely responsible. Why was the SW not also dismayed when Fashola and Tinubu squandered 600 million on SUV's

thanks for the info but there is normally a spending limit, was due process followed?
If you check the documents by sahara..it shows that every right step necessary for those cars to be bought was followed..starting right from the issuance of the profoma invoice..

However,I think the outrage here is about the cost of the car..which many of us think was inflated..

The earlier you stop tribalizing this issue, the better for all of us. All those involved in the purchase of the cars should be sacked whether the NCAA Boss or the Minister.

It is unfortunate that this probe will not see the light of the day. It will be swept under the carpet as usual. Nothing good will come out of it.

It baffles me how we seem to adore corruption in Nigeria just because of some useless trash called ethnicity!! Igbos and Yorubas are the elements moving this country to the abyss. U can imagine what Kengali and freeglobe can comfortably type in a forum like this. And i know the yorubas seem to be "unbiased" here because an ibo is involved. Well this is the sorry state of a nation that is "willing" to fight corruption. Which way NIGERIA

the earlier we stop deceiving ourselves in this country the better for us all. And no they are not "unbiased" here if not they should be calling for the head of the NCAA DG instead. There is a clear difference between fighting corruption and pull him down. The minister has not been accused of stealing money.

KenGali: All the same woe betide Jonathan if he dismisses another Innocent Igbo person for the penchants of the same people that wants his head on a platter of gold.
In the gust shall we then leave him to his fate in an evil wind gifted by those he seems to want to die to please or rather fear!
Fetus Odumegwu is still lingering in my mind.

I assure you, the President is way wiser than this. The conspiracy is becoming obvious. PUNCH of today alone has about seven stories on this issue. Surely, they will gather but. . .

dont mind them.. Some people dont even knw when a blog has tribal dots all around it.

Calling for the ministers sack without doing same to the head of the NCAA DG is purely and logically tribalistic.

Nutcase! Nothing stops Jonathan from probing and prosecuting past and present leaders who have plunged Nigeria into this mess with their excessive greed and wastefulness. The deal to procure those cars was initiated long before Fola became the DG of NCAA. It was initiated by Nkemakolam, who was the acting DG then, and he also signed the papers on behalf of Fola. This does not exonerate Fola for timidly consenting to this fraud when he could have stood his ground. The Board of NCAA, including Fola and Nkemakolam, and the Minister must all be brought to book.

If Jonathan did not probe Diezani Madueke who is ten times more corrupt and has done more than ten times what Stella Oduah has done, what makes any right thinking Nigerian believe the presidency of any probe.

The article copied in below comes from a pro-government newspaper - Vanguard.

Only the wicked and morally unconscionable will not find fault in what is undoubtedly an abuse of process. Leave aside the inflated cost of these 3 or 5 year old cars and reflect on the level of obfuscation and amount of denials government agencies have indulged in, since the news first broke.

However we slice and dice this one, the armoured cars have proved to be a tipping point, the match that ultimately lit the tinderbox which had long been ignored despite its clear warning signs.

How the deal on Oduah’s $1.6m BMW cars was sealed

By WALE AKINOLA & Theodore OPARA

More facts emerged, at the weekend, lending credence to the claim that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) may have bought the two controversial $1.6 million (approximately N255 million) BMW bullet proof cars for the Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, amid the parastatal’s precarious financial situation.

Sunday Vanguard learnt that the NCAA did not have the cash backing and hence the deal with Coscharis Motors and First Bank of Nigeria to finance the purchase was negotiated on hire purchase basis.

“There is no way NCAA could have raised that kind of money in one lump sum. Therefore when the pressure became unbearable that the vehicles had to be bought for the minister, the only option open to us was to explore how it could be done on hire purchase”, an NCAA source said.

The source said the deal was sealed based on anticipatory payment.

Explaining why the minister zeroed-in on NCAA to buy the vehicles, the source explained that it is one of the hard currency generating aviation agencies and payment for the vehicles was denominated in dollars.

“NCAA is in this trouble because we are one of the hard currency generating aviation agencies. That is why the minister zeroed-in on us to buy the two cars because we were made to understand that payment had to be made in dollars,” the source said.

“But it wasn’t as if the NCAA could afford to pay for the cars, being expensive as they are. We have many issues contending for funds including training of staff abroad on aircraft air worthiness and so on.

“We entered into anticipating payment for the cars such that the payment is spreed over a period of time based on our projections. The source explained that it may take several months for the parastatal to fully pay for the vehicles.”

Meanwhile, the exact cost of the two controversial BMW cars for the Aviation Minister, at the weekend, remained shrouded in secrecy.

Experts said the cost of the two cars should not have been more than $400,000 including freight charges as against the $1.6 million paid by the NCAA.

The insinuation was that the vehicles were grossly over-priced.

Efforts to get Coscharis Motors, the BMW representative in Nigeria, to speak on the matter proved abortive as the president of the company, Dr. Cosmas Maduka, was said to be on a foreign trip to South-Africa and China.

A Coscharis source said, “I am not competent to speak on the matter because the issue of armoured vehicles is strictly not for every staff, as most customers would not like people to know that their vehicles are armoured. It is usually confidential.”

In the mean time, an expert argued that given the level of insecurity in the country, there was nothing wrong in armouring a vehicle for a minister especially given the part of the country the Aviation Minister comes from, saying what was worrisome was the amount being quoted for the two vehicles for Oduah.

No harm should ever befall Stella Oduah, whether man made or by an ACT OF GOD.

She is the most achieving Minister of Aviation we've had in years, and she has been working hard to extend coverage of air travel facilities to ALL geo-political zones in Nigeria.

We know that her travails stem from this very fact (total air coverage of Nigeria -some people HATE THAT).
Jonathan must resist the attempt to fall into this open pit dug by enemies of progress for him. The woman should be allowed to complete all the airport projects she initiated and must not be replaced by evil people who want to stop her work

Of course you don't want probe because your hate has nothing to do with finding the truth.
You just want her fired because she did what others dared not do -give Igboland international access.
Jonathan would be a FOOL to touch her, and this might even signal to Ndigbo that maybe time has come to throw Jonathan under the bus.

I think Jonathan should go further. Public office holders since 1999 should be investigated.

Oduah has achieved alot in aviation sector but is quite unfortunate that she has in the process stepped on several toes. Hence, she should had been extremely carefu not to fall into their vile trap.......... Is simply a case of pitiful fall (tragic flaw). Les pose and see how claws of fate treats her at the end of the day
