Foolish and ignorant folks commenting! Who brought politics to church? A man that was duly invited by the Priest or the tout that sent his fellow touts armed with his pictures and brooms to a holy ground? Which? Did anybody see any APGA flag on that ground? Many witnesses have confirmed the presence of APC flags,brooms and Ngige's pictures at the holy ground. APC and Ngige will surely pay for this. It's funny how for the past eight years Obi has been invited for this rally which holds every year . . . and not once has he attended. And yet people expect us to believe that his attending this year has noting to do with politics? How gullible do they think we are   He didn't just attend, he made a donation of 2 million naira to the priest who rejected the money and asked him to give it to the impoverished. The place is a holy ground, not a fund raising event or a campaign ground. The crowd was outraged the Obi was using the huge turn out as an opportunity to sell his stooge of a gubernatorial candidate, which is why they kept shouting him down with screams of 'onwa' (Ngige's popular name). The fact that the Governor is blame this on Nigige not only shows him as being petty, but also reveals his weakness. All his woes is caused by Ngige . . . this Ngige must be a God! 3 Likes |

The same priest even threatened to curse the APC touts for daring to bring politics into the holy ground. DId you hear Peter Obi make any campaign speech there or solicit for votes there? You people are just lost!!! The priest himself and Archbishop Okeke have both come out to tell the world that the stampede happened after Obi left and was caused by a calculated false alarm raised by some people(APC touts). The article says the stampede happened 3 hours after the Governor had left, you come and say that the governors rejected 2 million Naira offer caused the stampede.. Hmm The Catholic archbishop of Onitsha diocese has come out to blame the stampede on a false alarm that was raised by someone whilst people were leaving the crusade ground after the vigil had ended. An eyewitness that was at the crusade ground said that the stampede happened at the end of the vigil around 5. APC's Lai Mohammed has blamed the stampede on Obis impromptu visit to the crusade ground, though he never said that the stampede happend whilst Obi was there. Obi has blame the APC for planting supporters at the venue who started waving brooms (APC logo) when he started making his speech. Victor Umeh has blamed the stampede on Ngige and even called for his arrest.. So why would you resort to calling me an 'Ewu Hausa'?! If that priest had not packed 100,000 people into a confined space with limited exit point and poor crowd control, then people would not have found themselves in such a precarious situation in the first place. Reinhard Bonnke's crusade also killed 14 people a few years ago and Gov. Obi nor Ngige were not there.. You were too busy looking for who to blame that you inadvertently limited your brains ability to think on a broader spectrum. It does not matter what started the stampede. A single bee is enough to trigger a stampede. One lizard that crawls up a womans skirt is enough to trigger a stampede. Thats why I went to the root cause of the issue which is space management and crowd control. Anyways, I shouldnt have expected an Upper Iweka Akunna to be reasonable.. Note: The only way that a 2 Million Naira donation (that was rejected) would have been able to trigger a stampede would have been If the money was brought to the crusade grounds in cash.. JECBOSS: Let a thorough investigation be In Nigeria? Through investigation? Have the deaths of Dele Giwa, Bola Ige, and several others been thoroughly investigated? Even with all the public utterances made at the Oputa Panel where Major Hamzat and Sergeant Rogers were unequivocally indicted over the killing of Kudirat Abiola, can you recall what really happened at the end of the day? To remind you, in case you're not following the news: Major Hamzat is now a free man whilst sergeant Rogers who pulled the trigger under his watch and instruction is languishing in jail. Nigeria is a failed state, where 'hawks' are continuously feeding on the oil wealth, pending when it would eventually, if at all, run out. When it finally does, if ever, the experience of Nigerians deprived of their share of the national cake would be worse than those of the Somalis, Burundis, Ethiopians. For me, the question Nigerians should be asking is why a religious gathering should be allowed to be hijacked and transformed into a political jamboree? And, what picture does it paint of the religious leaders? I've always said it on this and other platforms that religion underpins the mammoth of problems facing Nigeria. SHAME! |

Infact 3 hrs after he had departed. Obi did not cause that stampede.. Poor space management and inadequate exit points did.. Obi was not at the Reinhard Bonnke crusade where 14 people were stampeded to death.. Neither was Ngige. Nigerian Chruches pride themselves in Mega crusades forgetting the harzard associated with such gatherings. the triggers for a stampede are normally small things. Sometimes a pure water sachet that explodes like a gun can cause a stampede.. Dont blame Obi.. Blame the Pastor.. |
