When is tithe collected? Is it daily, monthly, weekly or yearly? I ask this question because every sunday they must talk about tithe in church, even sometimes during weekly activities they stress on this tithe. Maybe there are those paying tithe daily, weekly or monthly i dnt know. But seriously, they should limit talking about tithing and start stressing on holy living, righteousness, faith toward God and love toward God and fellow human being. If this is stressed every sunday it will help the society a great deal not the tithe and sowing of seed they alway talk about every sunday. I know that i ought to give to support the work of God. U dnt have to overstress it first before i do the right thing. Those that have the heart of giving will always do so to help the work of God. Thanks.

The very fact that no one definition fits tithing as practiced today is the leading reason why tithing today is not scriptural.

God defined His tithe in Leviticus 27. When the Jews paid it, there was no confusion about it. It was 10% of agric produce from the sacred land of Israel to be given to Levites.

If you can read through it all, I am sure it will help you with you conclusions. Though you will need God's Spirit to direct you to discern the falsehood in what some are writing:

Let me add to this that those of us, atleast me, who teach that tithing is not an obligation for Christians today take our position from the fact that the New Testament teach a gospel of grace and that we are no longer under law; nor are we to use grace to keep the law. Because of this position, some months ago we held a Grace Convention in which various papers on the concept of grace were presented. I invite you to look up the thread below.
