This place looks like Naija to me and I can't mistaken it for America in any way. Look at those disgusting white and black stripes that characterize naija cities. Its an Abuja level city and is still developing as well. Maybe in 100years time it will surpass Miami with organized rail system, sewage disposal, constant electricity, functioning domestic gas line, functioning health insurance etc. 6 Likes |

Every major Nigerian city (not just Lagos and Abuja) in every region should at least look close to what Luanda is; that is if matching it is a bit of a tall order! Nigeria has to be a real federation with viable and strong component parts for this to happen. Nigerian cities cannot look like Luanda until we do the right thing in terms of restructuring the polity, leadership recruitment and recognition of merit over other parochial, ethnic and religious considerations! To get to Luandas level we all have to have national pride.......with everyone (north, south, east and west) pulling in the same direction! 5 Likes |

And it's not like the average Angolan is better off economically than the average Nigerian! Nigerian architects and project planners simply have no taste! Just gaudy, lopsided, sparsely distributed and CHEAP looking buildings all around! Ghanaians are guilty of this too. In short West African countries fall my hand for that one. 2 Likes |

nnenna.1: First of all thats their oil dollar working well for them, which is very goods for them as there has been increased chinese investment in Angolas infrastructure. Trust me most of those building either lie empty or are occupied by expatriates. The average citizen of that country cannot afford those houses. They are one of the most expensive real estate on the continent. One good thing going for them is that the population is not as large as that of lagos hence its easy to plan. LUANDA IS OUR ABUJA.......ABJ has its good side and bad likewise Angola.....one thing they have in common is the ridiculous real estate prices. 3 Likes |

ckkris: In the 20 months Gen Buhari imposed himself as the Head Master over Nigerians, using soldiers to FLOG people into queues. Then you ask, who ELECTED Gen Mohammadu Buhari to be god over Nigerians. Some of you liars just believe repeating lies over and over can make the lies stick. When did Buhari send soldiers to "FLOG" people into queues? In the present day Nigeria, soldiers are still beating citizens across Nigeria. Does that mean Jonathan also using soldiers to flog the citizens when there have been reports of soldiers brutality in different parts of Nigeria in the last four years? Jonathan sent soldiers to beat hell out of protesters during the oil subsidy protest, does that make him a brutal dictator also? I just imagine how some of you militants sleep at nights after spreading falsehood on the internet. Buhari was in power when dollar worth less than naira. Buhari was in power when orderliness was coming back into our way of life. Buhari was in power when government stopped paying for mallams going to hajj/mecca on government dimes. Buhari was in power when students were getting free text-books and free exercise books. If Buhari had stayed for few years longer without IBB coup, Nigeria would have been a better place where corruption would be at the barest minimum. Wouldn't you trade Buhari era to the present day Nigeria where absolutely no progress going on? May God work in your life the same way Jonathan and PDP working on Nigeria's affairs. Amen! 9 Likes |

we always mistake. most african countries can only boast of 1 or 2 cities/towns apart from their capital that are conducive for living with all amenities at your finger tips. the only exception is South Africa, Nigeria and Egypt. Apart from Luanda, there is no meaningful development in other parts of Angola. It is definitely an aberration to be comparing Nigeria (even in our worst state) to Angola. Luanda is a lovely city and i love the beach but the truth is, you can't compare it with Abuja. How many Angolans can afford all the houses displayed above? most of their estates are usually scantily occupied. 5 Likes |

It so glaring when you see cities that have power. Look at Luanda at Night, beautiful! And we keep deluding ourselves we are the giant if Africa. Abuja doesn't even come close to this due to lack of power and a few shabby settlements . Other African countries are fast catching up. Let us keep practicing ethnic politics, religious bigotry, continue to embrace corruption,in a few years threads will spring up on social media on how Angolans hate Nigerians. Because we soon start trooping there. It is just a matter of time. Why? Because we lack the capacity to develop by ourselves. It is not due to the system of government, it is the people. Nigeria is a dark country where majority are not smart but think they are. Unfortunately, this illogical species far outnumber the logical ones and are multiplying at an astronomical rate that we will soon end up with the dumbest nation on earth. 5 Likes |
