I swear you are one very funny woman. This is the same mrdrix you dissed the previous page. My guess is you have already prepared your mind for every hate post that you failed filter people's post to identify who is for or against you. Mrdrix spoke for you, and even 'attacked' the dude who called you a f00l by saying there's no smoke without fire.

Mrdrx is the only sensible person who has spoken about your issue with these e-bullies. How can talking about driving and laptop be a thing of intimidation to people in this age. Na so people poor reach? They just want to gang up on you for no reason cos you are female. Yes, you have a sharp mouth but still they have no reason to want to e-bully you. And guess what, you are too much for them to handle cos you keep coming back..lwkmd.

They must think they can silence you. Caustic tongue isn't for males alone, if you think you can insult someone and expect her to keep quiet cos she's female, then think again grin.

You shared your experience, some laughed at you and another said you weren't scammed but f00lish, but you didn't take those ones to heart. You agreed and said you have learnt your lesson. We all learn our lessons from experience, no1 is perfect. Let no1 claim otherwise.

Now I hope you read and understand this my post ooo.. grin grin

Yeah, exactly how i felt cheesy like you see through my mind and as per the e.hate,i understand,i really do.lol.i know its borne out of the fact that a lot of african men unconsciously expect women to be seen and not heard (funny enough somone said that here) implicitly any woman that is very vocal is considered rude and disrespectful..apparently 1 million hatered on nl put together in words cannot chanhe kulyie smileyl

Atonto: Nearly got scammed...ori lo yomi. I was seriously looking for a befitting 3BDR bungalow in Lagos, and i got to meet this guy who claim to be an agent. He took me to a house in Maryland - Mende area. The house is not yet completed, still remaining some patching up here and there, in fact i met people working on the interior fittings. To cut the long story short, seeing that i was really eager to pay the 1.5 million - the house rent, he promised 2 weeks for the completion and warned me to pay on time as their are many suitor ready to pay but as he see me as a young and responsible guy, he will let me have the house. He gave me the account number to pay 1.5M into but says he would prefer cheque or cash. On my way to the bank with my friend, we decided to have a second look at the house...the look that save me. Lo and behold, we met a guy in the house who claim to be the brother of the owner of the house. He told me with proof and evidence that the house is not for let, and that he was there because of the stories he heard concerning people claiming to have paid for the same house and waiting to pack in once is finished. I put my hand on my head Chei.. I was told as well that the so called agent is in collaboration with the carpenters working in the house. A spare of the key with them is what they give the agent to fake access...I called the number he gave me but no response... that is when it dawn on me that the guy is a big scammer and he already know through his spies that oka ti fo, i just thank my star ...
you should be called Oritomi. Lol

simplynola: Why dint you stick to the rules when she told you her rent will expire by december? but you went ahead to pay more instead of six months, so the fault is yours. It seems she knew she was going to get a quit afterall and believing she will get atlist 3 months extra. On the other hand, if the tenancy law in your state of residence is effective, you can just go to any local government and they will put you thru on the appropriate authorities to lodge your complaints but also beware she culd be playing tricks on you by putting court into the issue. She will bolt into thin air. Try see the care taker privately and explain. He could have a palliative measure.

Thanks for your advice. I made a mistake sha. I pray God will see me through, all the same, thanks.

pappilo: I can recall 2 times where I have been scammed. i.e. the person set out to scam me and not cases of business transactions gone sour or friends refusing to pay back loans.

I was attending lessons for GCE and on this fateful day I decided to stab lessons and instead pay a visit to my friend in the hood. I alighted from a bus and as I walked towards his house, I saw 2 chaps playing table tennis with one obviously a "novice". He kept majorly lifting the ball up and the other kept smashing him out. As I walked past them they got into an argument about the scores and the better player reached out to me and said to me in yoruba "bros abeg help us keep the scores, This my opponent is an igbo guy who just stole his dad's money and is betting it all away but he cant even play". I agreed to do this for them and the other player was so poor I was wondering why he chose to bet. Anyways I helped them keep the scores and the better player won. The novice paid his debt and I made to walk away.

The winner then spoke to me in yoruba again "bros dont you want to chop this magas money?" Then I had that light bulb moment. I could easily turn my N50 transport fare back home into N100 so I agreed to play a game betting my N50. The yoruba guy then said to me " give him 15 ahead to entice him to play". I was an average tennis player but having seen the novice play, I knew I could beat him even with my eyes closed. Yes he was that poor.

I gave my money to the yoruba guy and the igbo guy gave his to him also. I served first and the novice smashed me out! Scores 0-6 (16). I assumed this was a fluke and I served again. The novice smashed me out again, scores 0-7! This was when the penny dropped. I immediately feinged an illness and told the yoruba guy I wasnt playing again but he said to me in yoruba "bros you don bet already, it cant be cancelled". I carried on the game and tried my best but it didnt stop the novice igbo guy from winning without me scoring a single point.

I left in shame and as I walked away I noticed everyone in the area looking at me. The bastards knew what was going on and they didnt even warn me. I walked to my friends house but he wasnt home. I had to walk several miles back home as I had now lost my transport fare. That is the one day of my life when I regretted stabbing school.

dis one was not a scam Bro...u no just wise at dat time

I had intention of opening a similar thread like dis, since its alreasdy here I wil just narrate my ordeal wif scammers.

I was a young entrepreneur, made alota money then,I was into mobile techs, resides in minna.
One fateful morning,I was on ma way to buy a spare battery for my laptop when a gentleman neatly dressed walked up to me and narrated how he was robbed by some lady in lagos, how his dollars and some document were stolen,I felt pity for him though.
At the end he asked me for a strange addres of one woman although I grew up in minna I have never heard of such place before.
While we were talking a man I dint knw walked up to us,he was listening to what the stranger was saying all along, the man adviced that we should help the other guy since he had mentioned stuff abt bringing goods; which comprises of laptops, tvs, eletronics and stuffs and that the stuff only needed clearing.
I later agreed to help,to cut the long story short, frm clearing goods we started talking abt buying chemicals to wash off some kind black paper money. The man called the chemical to be "Idigio 8 oxide." Jiz,maybe I was jazzed buh at the end of the day I had invested 100k in the business.
The black paper money was washed in my presence and I saw 1k notes.
I was already imagining how I was going to spend my own share of the washed 120million.
Fastforward....I went back on the day we were supposed to share the money,lo and behold they were no where to be found,I asked around but was told that they parked some days ago..

WOW @ kulyie

I have no beef for you lady, a lot of people here belong in the stone age with their insecurities. So what if the lady drives a car and uses a laptop or even own a house, why r u so mad at that?

That asides, babe, you need to calm the F down. I love you, you are very consistent, but you need to understand that you cant fight everybody, even the great late madiba had to find a way to reconcile both black and whites in South Africa. While i can see a great deal of sexism here, there is no doubt that the later attacks you got was pretty much called for by basis of you response ( I like you O) and i hate sexism of any and every sort. Babe, you are also very sexist in calling someone cos he is male a potential rapiiist, not cool.

Are you young? Cos you do sound young and i hope you are cos there may be a chance for future sobering up, if you aren't i would advise you put your very considerable energy into something positive like helping to develop this Nation.

While i am not married, my guess is that you aren't either and you probably abhor the idea, but if per chance you have those aspirations you would either need to put your temper in check or may end up marrying someone who is not fully formed mentally. It is not sexist, verbal or physical physical violence from either sex cut deep and no one wants that.

But if all my assertions are wrong i apologize then and disregard all i have said.

I kinda like you, you are brave, but you can do with a bit of love. By love i dont mean anything sexual, i mean true friends who care enough to rebuke you kindly when necessary with consideration to your person.

I could be wrong O.

Cheers.

This scam don tay for Lagos even before I entered University in the late '90 s. I remembered one who came to meet at Oshodi and asked me for an address that never existed. I told him to take a bus to Ikotun, from Ikotun he should take a bus to Iyana-Ipaja, from Iyana-Ipaja he should take a bus to Sango. He said it is not there and I replied you know it's not there and you are asking for directions. I guess when nobody paid attention in Lagos they moved to Minna. Me na omo igboro.

Chicolee: I subleased an apartment and the host may be evicted.

Fellow Nlanders, please I need your help urgently. I 'subleased' a room for eight months, the woman I paid to told me her rent will expire in December. I paid in June so my rent is supposed to expire in February when I'll be through with my service (I'm a Batch A corper).

This morning, the caretaker brought a quit notice and it turns out the woman pays monthly instead of yearly. She was given a month notice earlier (I wasn't aware of this) and now she's been given one week to leave or the caretaker will file a summons to eject her... I paid to the woman and not the caretaker and even though the woman assured me nothing will happen, I'm scared she'll pack out during xmas period in my absence.

Please what do I do? Help a troubled soul!
why will you pay a tenant in another persons property? Please go and meet the caretaker and see if you can reach an agreement.

It was really great time for me getting Lagos for the first time, dats was year 2000. Every Morning I used to follow my Uncle to his work place, which is around Ikeja. This particular morning i was passing through Awolowo glass house i saw a man ringing bell on top of calculator of different sizes and functions. I stopped by to demand for the price and he told me they are the same price of N200 each, I greedily pack like 5 pieces and ask him instantly that he should give battery to test, he said he doesn't have battery since is not using battery to sell them. I paid him intending to get the battery from other place. On getting to that Ikeja bridge not far from Awolowo House, I saw one woman selling battery, I askeg her for battery which she brought out. I put it on first one is not working, the second one the same, third, fourth and the fifth all the same, not working. Immediately i turn back to go and meet the man, he had left. I narated the story to my uncle he burst to laugh me, that i was just knowing lagos.
