As long as there are witnesses and a marriage register is signed, they are the same thing. Even without the register, as long as there are witnesses, no one is more important |

The moment you pay dowry with the consent of your families...at that very moment (not a second more), bro! You are married to her. *but since no one is an island, she has a family, that belongs to a community, and marriage is a happy occasion, then you celebrate (traditional marriage) as her culture demands (don't do fetish o) *and if you profess a religion, then you need your God's blessings. It is equally very important. *i for one foresee the mix of both the traditional/religious marriage ceremony in the future. Hausa Muslims have done it. |
