1. To witch hunt perceived political enemies eg Odili
2. To water down his notoriety as a corrupt leader

While I do not have time to debate Obasanjo's Opinions, I find it expedient to point to major implications of his so called letter.
Using the press oriented talks of the like of Obasanjo as a strategy is really strange, it is like US using their best Nuclear war head in a diplomatic dispute with Equatorial Guinea. It is unmatched and appears rash. Hence something is up!

The are two major possibilities
1. That Obasanjo is Speaking out of Frustration
Frustrations of his expectation ever since he commissioned his G7 associates.
Frustrations that Coup can not hold within the country, as he rightly observed about a political watch list, training of special military, good intelligence
Frustrations that the defection of the G7 was reduced to a mere cold case of the confused, rather than the herald.
Frustrations that APC could not get the lift expected from Anambra State elections, which would have pressured you to give the G7 the upper hand.
Frustrations that a muted poisoning of Mr president did not materialize

Or rather
1. That Obasanjo is playing out his role as part of a Strategy.
Well who said a coup may not be planned
Amaechi is working extra hard in PH trying to prove that he can mobilize
ASUU has refused to call off the strike even when all their demands have been met, political
Tambuwal and Sanusi have suddenly become moral guardians!

I will say pick your fights wisely, and do not allow yourself to be confused as to who to face. Focus on the players with political relevance. Obasanjo will never rule Nigeria again. Further, I am not sure of the relevance of ASUU strike to the plan in offing. It is usually best to have students at home in times of political upheaval. Also take an active watch out for attempted impeachment. All these moral talks are meant to prepare the populace for an unwarranted evil against you, so better keep watch and sleep little.

Okon ikott: Leave the messenger, lets take the message. Doesn't the message contain some good truths? Why are Nigerians so myopic? Isn't this the same thing OBJ is complaining about Jonathan being unethical, ethnical, selfish and corruption soaked? Let's be reasonable for once fellow Nigerians. Are we making any progress at all; in power, education, infrastructure, institutional reforms, electoral reforms, economic renaissance. Why did it take the FG all 6 months before doing the needful which they have done yesterday - what ASUU demanded that they do which they have eventually done now. Why, why all the waste of valuable school time, one whole semester gone because government was footdragging in the hope it will outsmart ASUU. Obasanjo may have done a few things wrong, but he has spoken well on this issue. Let's give him some credit. How many of our leaders took the same bold step that Obasanjo has just taken?

African Petroleum now Fort Oil or FO was sold to another of his kins men in the person of Mike Otedola

4 National oil companies 3 were sold to yorubas and 1 to hausa/fulani in a country that is as divers as nigeria and no body said anything or criticised the president even when the sales were fraudulently done

2014 is just next year. The President will soon declare to run for re-election on the platform of PDP and then, there will be massive realignment in the body polity. All these lies have never worked. Ask Ngige and Akeredolu. APC does too much propaganda and little or no real politicking.

To PDP, 2 things are needed between now and end of January. 1. Media chat by the President to re-energise his power base. 2. A press briefing by NOI to straithen things out on the strenght of the economy.

How can OBJ, the father of corruption, point accusing fingers at other concerning corruption. Maybe he has forgotten that what others did after him was following his foot-steps. If he has forgotten, the Ota Farm is the property of FG. The N300billion for road construction which was shared between him and Aninih is yet to be accounted for. He was the Minister of petroleum most of his tenure without accounting to the country what came in and what was actually spent. Ajaokuta Steel is in a mess today due to the deal between him, his son and Solegas. What of Iyabo share of the booty of the Aviation money? What came out of it- did he not block the case? Did he actually fought corruption? All those he projected as being corrupt were those he used indirectly to fight his Vice, Attiku or those who failed to dance his music the way he wanted them to. He is equally known to be the father of 3rd Term. He should allow GEJ to be focused in what he is doing rather that throw spanners in the wheel of progress. GEJ has the right which is conferred on him by the constitution to go for a 2nd Term. Coming from a minority is not a crime. After all, he OBJ never wanted GEJ to be President in the first place (please read the confession of El-Rufai). OBJ please leave GEJ alone. Iffygod: Obj does not have the moral right to accuse Gej of corruption. This is becausd, during his own tenure, corruption was the order of the day, He even spend billions of naira pursuing third term agender. I think he should ve been more objective in his criticism. Gej is not a saint but I think He tried.
