I think you should write something on your own no matter how short, you don't ask other people to write love poems for you, it has to be what and how you're feeling presently. Moreso he might be familiar with the way you write.

There was this lady at one time I was interested in. We were kind of starting a relationship. By the way that relationship is dead, it was buried two weeks ago. I started writing poems to her but I called it lyrics. She was kind of shy and secretive. I knew by her writing poems I will some things from her.
