There is an argument, between a couple in my compound.  The wife is fond of beating her children mercilessly, but the hubby will only intervene, when the beating is getting out of hand.

The wife said she gave birth to the children and carried them in her womb for nine months. Breast feed and nurtured them till age. So she is the owner of the children.

The hubby said he is the head of the family, the children belongs to him, the children are bearing his surname.

Please Lander who is the owner of the children, the woman or the man?

Tell the woman to beat the children to death first, then they can decide who owns the children. my wife does not touch my children but I remember dealing with my first son a few times and she never told me it was wrong

belong to their mother but in this our part, the father owns the children.

Does bearing name really matters. A child can even give himself/herself name.
