GAZZUZZ:
Recommended engine oil 5W-20 fully synthetic
Power steering fluid: (I use any dextronIII if its a top off but using DW1 will be better if its a complete flush you can then use for 3years after that)
Transmission fluid:strictly honda ATF DW1
Brake oil: any good DOT 3 fluid will do.
Washer fluid: (I use morning fresh liquid wash) don't know recommended but that has always worked for me.
Coolant: better to use the 4liter already mixed instead of buying the smaller cans.
Most of these oils you can source from
Luvinhubby www.hondaspares.com.ng (08029255299)

GAZZUZZ, thanks a whole lot for all your selfless efforts...
Pls can you help Toyota Users with a similar dealer who specialises in toyota parts and oils... NOTE; I'm not talking about Mandillas and co. "those guys are hyper expensive"
Secondly, I don't think any Mobil filling station has a 5W30 Synthetic oil in store, I've been to so many of their Big stations to no avail, kindly direct us, if you know any.
Thirdly, do you think the 5W20 oil designed for Hondas in the above website will be suitable for a 2007 Camry?
Thanks for your anticipated response.
More power to your elbows..

GAZZUZZ:

Depends on the kind of leak, a simple leak caused by an old faulty O ring is a simple leak and an easy fix, but a leak caused by fracture to the condenser will involve welding and if not properly done will lead to consistent visits to the ac technician, if for any reason the leak is from the compressor have it replaced and get a guarantee on the job. So what type of leak is it?

I forgot to mention the leak could be from a faulty hose also have it replaced.

When dealing with ac leaks its better to have leAking sections replaced insted of welding if you can afford it, will save you in the long run.
thank u

I'm sorry I don't know any "good mechanic in PH)

What do you mean by service?

Oil/filter change
Spark plug replacement
Brake pads
Checking suspension parts
Serpentine belt replacement
Etc

Can be done by a good mechanic but in your case look for a mechanic conversant with GM (general motors) or a mechanic that is conversant with the opel brands. Your engine is produced by GM and I'm guessing most of the other parts will shared by other opel brands. If you have a particular problem with your car feel free to post here we will help in any way we can.

One or both abs sensors located in the front wheels of you vehicle has been damaged, with a simple multimeter a good technician can locate and replace the faulty culprit. Unfortunately you might have to scan your vehicle to locate the faulty sensor new sensors cost arround 5k each, tokumbor are like 2500-3k each.

I'm in Abuja, can you kindly recommend who can supply the sensor?

I don't think you should jump into replacing sensors, first have the sensors checked for disconnections or breaks.

Mean time ill search for somone who can have your abs checked in abuja, for now I can't remember any one.

Since you are a novice there's no DIY (do it your self) would have told you to check relays and fuses and worst case scenario remove the wiper motor and check if it works by powering it up directly if that fails replace motor.

Since you r not knowledgeable just use the tips I just mentioned. Motor should be btw 5-10k.

Bouncy feeling should be the front struts (shock absorbers) or your tyres.

COMMON CAUSES OF ENGINE OVERHEATING

An overheated engine can be caused by anything that decreases the cooling system’s ability to absorb, transport and dissipate heat; therefore engines can overheat for a variety of reasons. Let’s take a look at some of the most common causes.

Cooling System Leaks

This is the primary cause of engine overheating. Possible leak points include hoses, the radiator, water pump, thermostat housing, heater core, head gasket, freeze plugs, automatic transmission oil cooler, cylinder heads and block. Perform a pressure test. A leak-free system should hold pressure for at least one minute.

Wrong Coolant Concentration

Be sure to use the coolant recommended by your vehicle’s manufacturer. The wrong type of coolant and/or mixing the incorrect concentration of coolant and distilled water can also result in engine overheating. The best bet is to perform a complete flush and fill.

Bad Thermostat

A thermostat is a heat-sensitive valve that opens and closes in response to engine temperature. Heated engine coolant passes through to the radiator when the thermostat is in the open position. In the closed position, it prevents the flow of coolant to speed up the warming of a cold engine. When the thermostat gets stuck in the closed position, coolant stays in the engine and quickly becomes overheated, resulting in engine overheating.

Blocked Coolant Passageways

Rust, dirt and sediment can all block or greatly impede the flow of coolant through the cooling system. This can limit the system’s ability to control engine temperature, which may result in higher operating temperatures and engine overheating. Once again, a flush and fill is recommended to remove debris.

Faulty Radiator

By passing through a series of tubes and fins, coolant temperature is reduced in the radiator. Leaks and clogging are some of the most common causes of radiator failure. Any disruption in the radiator’s function can lead to elevated engine temperature and overheating.

Worn/Burst Hoses

A hose that contains visual cracks or holes, or has burst will result in leaks and disrupt the flow of engine coolant. This can result in overheating.

Bad Radiator Fan

A fan blows air across the radiator fins to assist in reducing the temperature of the coolant. A fan that wobbles, spins freely when the engine is off, or has broken shrouds will not be able to reduce the temperature to proper level, thus possibly resulting in engine
overheating.

Loose or Broken Belt

A belt is often the driving link that turns the water pump at the correct speed for proper coolant flow through the cooling system. If a belt is loose or broken, it cannot maintain the proper speed, thus resulting in poor coolant flow and
ultimately, engine overheating.

Faulty Water Pump

Known as the ‘heart’ of the cooling system, the water pump is responsible for pressurizing and propelling engine coolant through the cooling system. Any malfunction of the water pump, including eroded impeller vanes, seepage or wobble in the pump shaft, can prevent adequate coolant flow and result in engine overheating.

Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by GAZZUZZ(m): 2:14am On Aug 13, 2014
kolololololo: Hi, i want to ask for the recommended gear oil for kia rio engines available in Naija

Recommended oils.

Manual transaxle 75w85

Automatic transmission OEM kia SPIII transmission fluid.(Not same as dextronIII)

Change at 105,000 miles (standard) better still replace at 30,000 miles or when you notice change in colour or smell.

Availability in nigeria might be a problem, but you can enter any kia service center and ask for the oils.
