From a purely aesthetic perspective, this is probably the best stadium in Nigeria and certainly one of the best in Africa, especially when viewed from the exterior. I guess this is in keeping with Governor Akpabio's persona. Whatever you have to say against him, you cannot accuse him of delivering substandard infrastructure. He always does things on a megalomanic scale. His projects may cost a bomb but he sure delivers quality. 15 Likes |

obongproff: The stadium will be commisioned on the 23rd September 2014 which is Akwa Ibom day (when Akwa Ibom State was created) and the 2014 9,999 (carol night with the largest choral group in the world) will be hosted there too by December. |

Nothing really special,just like every other stadia in nigeria...steel trusses,concrete frames and good finishing materials. Just give it some couple of months after completion and it will be left to decay! Go checkout the bird's nest stadium in Beijing,it is the bomb!!!! 2 Likes |
