maestroferddi: I am in two minds whether to ignore your ignorance. Maybe you are blind to note that the present Nollywood is of over 75% Igbo content. Why would performers restrict their chances to local portals like the barely watched indigenous channels in Yoruba and Hausa while they could conquer the world via the English-based Nollywood? Can't you see popular actors like Olu Jacobs and Jibola Dabo carving a niche for themselves while playing Igbo-based roles? WHAT'S THE MAJOR LANGUAGE IN NOLLYWOOD? NOLLYWOOD CONSIST OF EVERY TRIBE IN NIGERIA READ THIS: Data in 2011 from the Nigerian Films and Videos Census Board (NFVCB) indicated that 1,743 and 1,234 movies were respectively registered and approved. The percentages produced in 2010 in the main languages were 44 percent English, 31 percent Yoruba, 24 percent Hausa and 1 percent Igbo. |

Tribalism seems to be more of a threat than racism recently . I'm inter-tribal - I dislike my Igbo mom's tribe and Yoruba dad's tribe _ but both grandpas were awesome . I only take a striking interest in em hausas - single dimensional _ they are either super meek or super deadly and so lovely _Da rest can die with their apathy for one another . if need arose for em to divide ' they should - This OP just gave his critical assessment 'and em opposition will counter and so on and on .. I'm sick of all this bigots 'admin mods are even a greater threat cus they knew this will turn into another heated feud . There's no Igbo or Yoruba or Hausa people 'there's only Nigeria all you mothaFu**ers ! if Nigeria fall ' we shall all fall . Isreal Arab or Egypt or anywhere you all think assumed presumed you all spawned from _ ,born sinners ! 2 Likes |

Hausa man is the richest man in africa, after him is yoruba nd ndigbo. Am not trying to b tribalist but humility is d best! Hausa's are the most humbliest tribe in nigeria and they r the one leading economically and politically! Apart from BH which I strongly believe is a political issue North used to b the most peaceful place and their crime rate is very low compare to other tribes #proudlyYoruba# 1 Like |

kokolet007: Hausa man is the richest man in africa, after them is the yoruba nd ndigbo.what a shallow sense of reasoning, because a hausa man is the richest makes them the economic backbone of nigeria, hmmmm, your logic is laughable. 18 Likes |

500GP:Guy get smart na. Nollywood markets and portrays Igbo culture to the world. Smart move by Nigerian movie producers and directors. How many of the so-called Yoruba and Hausa films are known outside tribal households in Lagos and possibly Ibadan? We have made Igbo culture a marketable global brand. We shall soon increase the number of Igbo language movies. It was a smartly thought out marketing plan. 16 Likes |

peppyluv02: Why was awolowo so jealous of the Igbos that he drank rat poison? See escape tactic! Jealousy fyi, that Awolowo drank rat poison is debatable ( RUMOUR ) Awolowo jealous of Igbo; of all tribes in Nigeria to envy.... You and I are not privy to what actually happened.... I'm not holding brief for Awolowo, whatever transpired between him and IBB or whoever forced him to drink poison has no bearing to matter I quoted! So stop misquoting me 1 Like |

Awolowo was jealous and intimidated by the dominance of the Igbos in every sector that was why he supported your slave masters, the north. At the end he was used and dumped and he found it best to commit suicide with rat poison. Or is it your Abiola who was jailed,he was so sex starved that he had sex with his wife in prison. The prison warders described his moan as that of a sex starved gorrilla. The army officers had fun passing the video to eachother. That is what you got for serving your masters faithfully Awoofawo: 10 Likes |
