I will rush to withdraw my money from Opaywealth then. Though am still enjoying it (50k and daily interest is #18). Please what is the monthly interest of vgif or Abacus using 50k as example sir. Please i will be greatful if you can help. Thanks in anticipation

Abacus rate as at yesterday was 7.56% per annum. You get interest prorated daily and the interest is paid or reinvested on the first day of another quarter.

Please note that Abacus money market fund is a low risk investment and the capital and returns are guaranteed.
Basically in most cases the lower the risk the lower the returns and vice versa.

If you have 50k you get a minimum 3,780 in a year which translate to 3,780/365 for a day ie 10.37.

These values changes once your capital increases by top up or decreases by partial redemption

Do you guys have dollar mutual fund investment
Yes we do. Vantage dollar fund VDF.
You need $500 as initial deposit

VDF
The fund is an Open-ended Fixed Income Dollar Fund and will invest in Nigerian Originated Dollar Denominated assets (Sovereign and Corporates). The fund seeks to provide investors with bias for dollar denominated securities access to such securities, which ordinarily would be inaccessible to them by virtue of the minimum amount typically required to make such investments.

Key Features

· Open-ended unit trust scheme which is duly authorised registered in Nigeria

· The minimum investment amount is US$500 with additional investments in multiples of US$1.00. The Fund Manager however reserves the right to review these amounts as the need arises.

· Redemption will be paid within 5 Business Days after the relevant documents have been submitted to the Fund Manager.

· Every unit holder shall be entitled to receive from the Fund Manager an Electronic Certificate for the number of units purchased by such unit holder. The Electronic Certificate shall be conclusive evidence of the number of units held.

· The minimum holding period in the fund shall be 180 days. However, the Fund Manager is aware that investors might have need for their monies within the minimum holding period and as such would allow redemption during the minimum holding period subject to a 15% charge on the positive total return on the units being redeemed on the day of redemption.

· Dividend will be paid from the income earned to unit holders annually.

· Dividend can either be reinvested into the fund or credited into the unit holders’ bank accounts via electronic means

· Interest earned is currently between 4% to 6% per annum

Send your fact sheet

I am not a fool.

I know the names of fund managers with total asset under management of N50 billion and above

Can't even find your name in Fund Managers Association of Nigeria list

Stanbic IBTC Asset Management has over N400 billion under management

FBN Quest Asset Management has over N200 billion

United Capital Asset Management has about N195 billion.

The next is ARM with about N70 billion

Chapel Hill Denham with about N60 billion

FSDH Asset Management with about N45 billion

Guys correct me if I am wrong oooo.

Being registered by SEC, don't not mean your funds are registered
Great insights for due diligence.

In mutual funds you pool money together with other people and interest is shared according to capital invested. We offer 3 types:
1. Paramount equity fund (high risk)
2. Women investment fund
(medium risk)
3. Money market fund (low risk/ capital remains unchanged)
If you want to play it safe, go for money market fund.

At Chapel Hill Denham we also have a dollar investment plan. Minimum of $1000 for 6 months and you'll earn interest in dollars.

@emmanuelewumi

Thanks a lot for responding to the question. I've never heard about the asset firm, and I assume the firm is legit since you gave some knowledge about it as a certified specialist here on NL.

Okay, I wanted to also know if there's a maximum ceiling or
amount in USD a person can invest since the minimum is USD500 for a start, with USD1 increments as you said.

Let's say, is there a maximum investment CEILING of $10,000
for example or is it open-ended?

Thank you.

Is there a maximum amount you can deposit in the bank.

You need a minimum of $200,000 to buy Eurobond, we have people or organizations with tens of millions of dollars invested in Eurobond. Since you are so loaded you can buy Eurobonds directly from the issuers

Oga Emma thanks for your inputs.
Just to add to what is already said,
Dollar fund will only accept inflow in dollars. Fund managers are not allow to do any currency conversion transactions for clients. All inflows should always be in d currency the fund is dominated in.
That means you must have a Domiciliary account to invest in VDF.
Returns also is in dollars, no conversion

I have upto 2.8 million naira in my Opay Owealth Wallet.

I have not heard of Opay wealth before, I don't even know the name of the company that owns it. Please move your funds to a MMF recognized and regulated. Better safe than sorry.

I personally use Abacus MMF by InvestmentOne. There are many other good MMFs from reputable asset management companies.

Thank you

The money in your Owealth is safe just like the money in your Opay account.
So if you think your money is safe with Opay, it is same with Owealth. The reverse is also the case.

I am interested in VDF but my issue is opening a domiciliary account with Citi Bank. I went to the Citi Bank at Oban akran ikeja, requested to open a dorm account. The guy there gave me a pre authorization form to fill and told me on submitting, it will be sent to head office at VI. When approved they will get back to me on documents to be submitted. This occurred last Thursday and I have not yet been contacted by Citi.
