Wow reminder of the days when I hated my parents for most of the stuff they did and their way of training me but growing up, I realise that was their way of showing that they love and cared about me....I love my parents to bits. |

Nigerian parents =killjoys it is when you are watching an interesting channel that they know that the car needs washing, that beans needs grinding, uniforms need ironing, meeting blouse needs ironing ,dogs cage and kitchen cabinets needs re-lining with newspaper, white hair needs plucking, toes needs cracking in fact all sorts of errands seem to come out just when you are watching your fav channel . bigfrancis21:Our mothers has a proverb to this end: to ba ko ni gba, a o fun l'ekoro, that is, 'if he refuse at 'take' we'll force it down his system'. So they will compress the child in-between their thighs safely, using the right hand to pour the meal direct to the child's mouth and the left hand to form funnel and to block the child's nostril the moment the meal is poured and gulped, the woman release the nostril spasmodically in the process. The mother clean up the child after the feeding experience. #CelebratingAfricanwoman. 2 Likes |

I can never forget the time when my mum would wake me up with cane around ard 7am cos I would normally wake up late, after so many 7am wakeup flogs,I would be half awake before 7 till I hear those angry footsteps, walking towards my room, the sprints and stunts I pull out of bed ehen,Jacki shan serf can't bit that........lol,when sweeping my dad would delibrately walk ard bare foot,to make sure there is no trace of sand or dirt anywhere,if not hmm story for another day.when going out,u must give account of where, what and why must be back not later than 6pm not more than 30mins,.........does anyone remember how parents talk with there eyes?,like when u go to visit and u are offered something and the first thing u do is look at their eyes for approval, sometimes there is that look"if u try it I will kill u"hehehe.......My dad particularly had that look we called"shamy look" the morning after a mess up that make u feel like disappearing,u could feel the strong stare even without looking serf, the best thing was to avoid him throughout the day,cos it leaves u feeling ashamed and useless..parents will over work u and make u do things u should do in 3/2days in 1 and tell u,"u are a girl am training you" If u don't cook well or help out in the kitchen, they would insult u and tell u how ur husband will come and give u back with ur bride price....lmao!when I think abt it now,it was all out of love, hard love.they are definitely the best! 7 Likes |

This thread has got me lol...i remember vividly when i was a kid. Mum gave me an errand to do before she went to her office and I totally forgot about it. She came back and asked if i did the errand and I asked her if she told me to do anything for her. Before i could say "jack" she gave me one stinging slap. I dunno what activated me to run away from the room. I ran outside and started crying and mumuring..the slap registered o. I didn't know when my mum came behind me and hit me on my head. I come tear race and my mum started chasing me. I thought I could out run my mum because she's plump but she proved me wrong. All the while I was running,i was screaming my lungs out trying to attract the neighbours but no one came to my rescue. She finally caught up with me and flogged me with her silppers. Try nonsense with my dad and he would show you pepper. You know putting pepper in the eyes and bum? and he would end up flogging you with his belt. Those days are gone and I can boldly say I'm proud of the lady I turned out to be. Thanks to my parents,i love them to bits. 8 Likes |
