Not knowing how to cook depends on what the guy eats.It could be that he eats one very very native food that she can't prepare and foods like rice is not in his list..then he says she can't cook. His mother might cook a kind of food in a different way that taste differently from that of his wife, and he says she cannot cook.. |
| Re: . by Nobody: 5:03am On Nov 15, 2014 |
Marrying a lady who doesn't know how to cook is like buying a car without an engine. Such family will subscribe monthly or yearly to MR BIGGS bundles. It is un-African and an abomination |

LaurelP:If that's about the only snag, yes I can. I can cook pretty well, so I'll fill in for a while, pending when she completes a practical tutelage from my mum. |

dovelike:Yea...that's another way of looking at it. |

| Re: . by Nobody: 5:01pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
Lordabas:That would be rewarding bad behavior ![]() What incentive will she now have to learn what her mates learnt years ago? Her own can only be the dessert after she produces better main course from the kitchen. |
| Re: . by Nobody: 5:25pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
I know for a fact that I can't marry a man who can't cook or who isn't willing to learn. I suck @ cooking so it's very important he knows how to cook. You hv to think about stuff like, who is going to cook for the kids if we decide to have them? It's not prudent, most especially not healthy to eat out everyday. |

BananaBender:Ah yes, the feminist. So, HE is the one that should learn abi? And you will continue to proudly remain in as profound a state of culinary ignorance as possible...because it's the feminist thing to do. Well done. Best of luck finding that (white) man. That, or You better be the main bread-winner of that house too. |
| Re: . by kandiikane(m): 6:04pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
2buff:Lol, come off that joor! There are many black men who willingly cook for their women and it's not that once in a blue moon kind of thing, "It's hunny, im hungry can you make me breakfast or cook some bolognese please" You don't need a white man for that. |
| Re: . by Nobody: 6:10pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
2buff:"Not cooking" is the feminist thing to do? LMAO! How does me sucking @ cooking hv anything to do with feminism?? ![]() I won't marry a man that doesn't complement me. I am well aware of my strengths and weaknesses Mr. I have no problem being the main bread-winner. What does that even mean?? If my man works, we combine our money together, there is no main, nor side bread-winner where I'm concerned. I don't need the luck, keep it to yourself. I don't think that would be a problem, a lot of my Nigerian male friends know how to cook a bit and are not against learning. My bf tries, though I think he over-hypes his cooking abilities. |

Davidairmarshal:INSERIOSNESS Why can't a man cook for his wife? Are there federal laws against it? Are you from this planet at all? ![]() |
| Re: . by Nobody: 6:20pm On Nov 15, 2014*. Modified: 6:42pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
kandiikane:I'm not talking about that. I cook for my GF too, but that would be because she can do the same for me. I was addressing the sheer arrogance of this her implied statement. i.e. "I don't/can't cook and I won't be learning how. If he doesn't know how, he must be the one to learn how to cook. I can't really be arsed with it." |
| Re: . by kandiikane(m): 6:24pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
2buff:Oh right.... but maybe you are thinking that's what she meant because she is a feminist, to you, anything that comes out of her mouth would be anti-men even if she wrote blah? |
| Re: . by Nobody: 6:28pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
kandiikane:I was addressing the arrogance. Her being a feminist is really just a minute detail of the actual matter. Why did she not say "I suck at cooking, but I am also interested in learning". She instead relegated it as something her man will be doing, or more insultingly, must learn to do. Because she has just decided that she won't be learning it from her end as well. |
| Re: . by Nobody: 6:32pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
BananaBender:And she has even managed to find a man that tries, yet she still has mouth to be judge... ![]() Nansense |

| Re: . by kandiikane(m): 6:41pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
2buff:but that's her own opinion though. Everyone has things they want in their partner and one of hers is someone that can cook or willing to learn to cook. Now, let's be honest, if this was the other way round would you be calling her(if she was a guy) a chauvinist? Personally, I don't see the big deal in this cooking issue because it is a skill that can be learnt and if both are too busy to learn, there are people out there who enjoy it and get paid to make it for you in your house. Why would I stress myself trying to cook meals for 9 people when I can have a professional chef in my home making us meals? There are better issues in this world to worry about than worrying about who should cook. |
| Re: . by Nobody: 6:45pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
kandiikane:Hmm, professional kini? babes, In this part of the world, just be sure you are pulling in the kind of CEO money to accommodate that lifestyle. Cuz if you want to be doing that on normal salary, and think it's sustainable, you are on a long thing. I know proudly lazy people will say everything possible to maintain their laziness, even if it is highly impractical. Na una life sha. |
| Re: . by Nobody: 6:51pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
2buff:LoL, arrogance? Did u read the thread? A lot of people on here were mandating that their partners know how to cook. Why are u picking on me...... because I'm female? |

| Re: . by kandiikane(m): 6:55pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
2buff:I think it is lazy people that use condition/situation as an excuse to stop themselves from working that hard to get such luxuries in life. If one was ambitious, where you live shouldn't stop you from living such a lifestyle, It shouldn't even cross your mind. There is a difference between laziness and determination. ![]() |
