The shooting of the women is making me to laugh o. Brain and thinking are .....plus raising nonsense sons.
You don't care about the kids, just keep quiet.

You're saying women should endure terrible men so they don't raise 'nonsense sons' ?

If the man eventually kills the wife, people like you would still open your gob and asked why she didn't 'chose better' and why she didn't date the " good men like me"

How is he mad? Most of you pressure men to marry without minding if he has the means to support a family.

A man who starts dating at age 20 must marry at 27 because he has dated her for 7 years? He is then mad for been with a single partner regardless of how age make Una get sense small na. If the woman doesn't want she should take a walk what's wrong with ur brain?
Who are you leaving the 27 year old woman for?

Shebi you ppl want to marry young women?

Any news that's only making the rounds in the Nigerian community and not carried by any Western news outlet is simply lies.

What did she carry for head? Wasn't it your colleagues that made this video trend all over again? Do you know this video is almost a decade old?

If your colleagues had let this clip die a natural death the first time, maybe the Police won't have gotten wind of this yoruba uncle's utterances. Now he's being investigated.

You wanted to use him as weapon for your propaganda but instead scored an own goal.

He never asked anyone not to report case of domestic abuse but because you are bitter soul, you would not understand. What do you know ? Do you know what some women call the police for their husband on in the uk?
Coughing and sneezing.

From what I can tell cos I am Yoruba, this whole programme was about the youths crimes.

Of course, UK youths could be very violent, especially with knife crimes. And it is rather a common occurrence for it to lead to death.

The man was advocating d importance of having both parents in the lives of their children. He acknowledged the fact that women has an upper hand, n said even if you feel the man is not doing anything in the home, manage it, cos d man u feel is not doing anything might be the one who will prevent that same child from getting stabbed. Children raised by their only their mothers have a much higher chance of incarceration, drugs n teenage pregnancy. The research is everywhere, this is not a female bashing thing n d cop sees it everyday at work.

He didn't say manage an abusive husband.

But I understand we have brought our archaic definition of manage to mean to endure. Manage can also mean to keep a company or in this case, a family going within the resources available to you.

There was no place in that recording that he said women should endure or not report violence to police.

It's not my problem what anybody choose to do with their lives. I have met girls who don't want to marry or have a kid n I have no issue with it. In fact, I find them a lot better n I actively gravitate towards them cos they are usually clear headed, can take care of themselves, n importantly, they hold themselves accountable instead of blaming everybody else for their failures. Very little mental stress cos they don't start sulking at your every word.

And if this male-female madness should continue, we should advocate that male n female should just continue to fornicate non-stop, no wedding, no kids, no problems.

This is just wrong n misguided anger towards the man.
You can tell all of this to the metropolitan police! Your endurance minister is now being investigated for misrepresenting the force. Pray he doesn't lose his job.

All of you are now backtracking, in the previous thread, you lot were doubling down and claiming he said it. Now the evidence is out, you want to backpeddle and act as if you know he never made those comments all along. Abeg.

i thought you said it is fake news, and the man never said anything like that

According to the video their is nothing the man said that promotes domestic violence or abuse, by mere discretion the man is only trying to ward off frivolous reports which is mostly the case, if physical abuses was on the rise the news would have broke out from the authorities

You guyz have to make these solely about physical abuse cos that the only angle you get a point, we all saw how a woman tore her husband passport here in naija airport imagine what that kind of woman would have done abroad, yet naa dem sabi call police pass

Acrimony movie comes to mind
Did you read the update?!

Unemployment is not a crime in the UK, so no husband can be reported for being jobless.
There are 2 categories of valid domestic issue reports, actual violence or threats of violence.
So, if a man is reported for sneezing as you insinuate, then there is no case!

What usually happens is that there is an argument over an issue, the one who loses
in the oral/insults contest(usually men) devolve into subtle or non-subtle threats. Some women believe
the threats(may or may not be credible, nobody knows) and go on to lodge complain. Others don't.

I would have been very sympathetic for the man's view if
1. He wasn't on uniform
2. He provided statistical evidence that shows that Nigerian women
make more frivolous reports than other groups in the UK.

My position is that it is wrong for a cop to discourage reporting for whatever reason.
Good job.

If you call the police for a ridiculous reason they actually tell you it's not a police matter and they hang up the phone. Even pranking the police is a crime in the UK.

Let them keep lying to themselves that they're wives are reporting them for coughing and sneezing.

whatever bad you think men do here, should strength/ leverage switch women will do worst
Because it is not true!

Did you see the update on FP? The man was simply trying to cover up abuse like they do to women in Nigeria.

Now the Police are dissociating from him, because that's isn't what the force stands for.

If you are abroad as a man and your wife is in Nigeria, leave her there. If your children are with her, take them there but leave your wife in Nigeria. Come to see her as much as you can, let her enjoy nice trips around the world if you can afford it but don’t let her leave with you over there.
You will surely thank me later if you take the advice.
I bet you haven't done this personally, you're just talking out of your behind. Who will take care of the children? Do you think there's any free baby sitter or housegirl for you abroad?

If u like ruin your home cos u feel u have an upper hand, na your children go suffer am

Don't quote me cos I won't reply u

He's actually talking about home management, nobody is saying they shouldn't report abuse but there are some minor issues that could b managed within the home that are blown out of proportion because the women believe they have an upper hand

In pidgin, no b every case u go call police, some small issues dey wey u suppose manage for house na only issues wey Una no fit resolve for house u suppose call police for

Simple
The clip was chopped off. In the full video, he actually tells Nigerian women not to call the police. And now the police are dissociating from him because that's not what they represent.

You people love to gatekeep dark family atrocities. Like the recently convicted Dr Femi Olaleye that raped his wife's teenage niece.

Some of you said his wife shouldn't have reported him because " he's her husband " 🤦🏽‍♀️

Yes. Cococandy and I figured things out when we first saw the story on the FP. In the long version of the video, the fraudster starts speaking in Yoruba so that the Oyinbo men couldn’t understand what he was saying and doing.
1Sharon, other nationalities don’t do things like this—they protect their women and children, unless it’s extremists or guys from Afghanistan. Indian men working for the UK police wouldn’t try manipulating Indian people by doing this. Some Nigerian men abusing power go together like clouds and rain.
Omg yes. This is all part of their agenda. They want to import the culture of keeping women silent here in the West. How malicious of this man.

He started speaking in Yoruba for a reason, fraudster! UK police confirmed that isn’t their stance and he’s now being investigated. What he did is an actual criminal act, I can’t wait until he is sacked and arrested!
Oh interesting. So he really said that? The clip here was chopped off. No wonder the Met didn't confirm his statement. He's giving his own personal advise and he's all on his own.

He didn't actually say anything wrong. He was just giving family advise. You can see the background is a church. It's just an informal chat.

He never said Nigerian women shouldn't call the police, he's being misrepresented for their agenda.

Nairaland is super notorious for spreading lies. The MODs don’t even try to verify any information they put on the front page as long as it’s guaranteed to generate clicks like this one.

If I didn’t live in the US, the type of impression I’d have of this country would’ve been WOW. That gives me the ideal that most of the stuff they say about the UK is also probably exaggerated at best or totally made up at worst.

Nonsense people full this forum sha.
Yeah. It's not just on NL, other Nigerian blogs aswell. Critical thinking, zero. That's why ridiculous stories and rumours are touted as facts in that part of the world.

The UK police actually want the opposite, they want people to have that trust and reach out to them more. They don't want people to suffer in silence.
