Don't quite your job.
A bird in the hand is better than thousands in the forest. Although this doesn't mean we shouldn't go looking for more/bigger birds because we have one at hand.
Long story short, 80k three month lecture wouldn't transform you. Anyone who tells you that you will become a productive programmer by 3 months is playing a fast one on you.
Most time investment in programming is majorly about time. Time and practice will help you understand what and what you need to know to be a good web dev.
My Advice:
Go to w3school.com and try to learn the fundamentals of the languages your friends tell you. Get pdf books and learn properly.
This will build your foundation and open your eyes but still it might not make you proficient.
From this if you're still interested, you can then tell your so-called friend to teach you what and what you need to know.
Learning web from an organization or friend etc is best when you know what and what you need to learn about.
My opinion
If your friend is planning to teach you the whole package of web dev. I must warn you of a pitfall. Web dev isn't a one man job. Listen to this. He didn't put a word wrong. The Web dev you are about to learn won't put instant food on your table rather it will take you years of practice and time to build a customer base. Retain your job while you learn. |
