@ Topic, I wld rather regard that statement as a form of familiarity. If it comes from a stranger, then I will take a very good look at myself and think deep. The word 'sexy' has a hint of allure and sexu.al undertone. If it comes from a male who knows you very well, it ain't no biggie. But from a stranger, it irks. I would end up feeling uncomfortable. I wld rather prefer being told that I look beautiful, not sexy.
Between a couple, it is acceptable to b called sexy.

OP: This is silly. Saying someone looks sexy is another way of saying they look pretty. For someone to be sexy to someone they have to be fine to some extent. It's definitely not an insult.
